  1. As well as appear in four consecutive Super Bowls and lose all of them. That stat will be around a long time.
  2. The future of cars is not electric, but hydrogen. Still a while off.
  3. At 27-3, I'm afraid this game is done. That's 2 lousy games today.
  4. I'm hoping Michigan can make a game of it. What do you guys think will be the best game tomorrow, on New Year's Day?
  5. Financial support of pro sports teams these days is not about putting butts in seats. WNY doesn't have anything close to the financial power to support major league sports teams in the 21st century. It's a miracle we have what we have, and if they leave, they won't come back. I have zero interest in pro football leagues outside of the NFL. That even includes the CFL, which I have nothing against...but I also have no interest in it. I think a big part of the excitement of NFL season is knowing it's short and it doesn't exist most of the year. Makes it more special--kind of like summer time when you live in WNY!
  6. This guy? Scott Flick. https://www.wivb.com/news/top-stories/local-artists-work-creates-buzz-with-bills-players-and-fans/
  7. The list of finalists this year is as thin as I have ever seen it. It's not exactly a list of the greats of the game, which it kind of is supposed to be. The one exception I see this year is Boselli, who was a dominating standout during his career. But if Tasker can't get in amongst these names, he never will.
  8. This is from the "ABOUT US" section at the pro football HOF website: "An exhilarating museum and attraction, the Hall of Fame pays tribute to the talents and triumphs of pro football’s greatest legends. Chronicled within the walls of the Hall of Fame are the stories and circumstances of play that bring to life words such as courage, dedication, vision, fair play, integrity and excellence." The HOF is supposed to be a repository of the greatest names that have played the sport, so that they won't be forgotten through the passage of time. Is Steve Tasker one of the handful of extra special stories from the '80s and '90s NFL that needs to be told? Is your football education deficient without knowing about Tasker's accomplishments on special teams in that era?
  9. Krebs and Peterka have pretty clearly shown they are not ready to be playing at the NHL level right now. In his first game, Tuch was maybe the best Sabre on the ice, then he took a step backward last night. Subban is just terrible and will be the odd man out when the goalies are back. Okposo has been a revelation this season, really returning to form we haven't seen in 4 or 5 years from him. But the undoubted star of 2021, so far, is Tage Thompson, who looks like he might actually be a valuable top 6 forward in the NHL. Earlier in his career as a Sabre he looked like a complete bust. When will the Sabres actually be good? When can we expect them to compete for, and make, a playoff spot? The year after next. That's as soon as I see it.
  10. Your description of this quaint little town reminds me of Middleburg, Virginia...which Washington DC people will probably know, only Middleburg is incredibly expensive! But Middleburg is probably the quaintest little town I've ever seen in America. Middleburg is known as the "Nation's Horse and Hunt Capital" for its foxhunting, steeplechases, and large estates. LOL
  11. The problem is number of snaps played. It's just not that much compared to regular offensive or defensive players. That is what John Clayton has brought up more than once when talking about how he doesn't see Tasker as a HOFer. And he's on the voting committee and talks to all the voters behind closed doors, etc.
  12. The entire list of finalists is, in my opinion, pretty weak. You would think the greatest ST player of all time would make it!
  13. Yep, the list is out and he's not on it. To listen to John Clayton talk about it, there is not enough raw horsepower behind him among the voters. It's a shame! The 2022 modern-era player finalists with their positions, years and teams, as announced on NFL Network: Jared Allen, DE – 2004-2007 Kansas City Chiefs, 2008-2013 Minnesota Vikings, 2014-2015 Chicago Bears, 2015 Carolina Panthers Willie Anderson, OT -- 1996-2007 Cincinnati Bengals, 2008 Baltimore Ravens Ronde Barber, DB – 1997-2012 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tony Boselli, T -- 1995-2001 Jacksonville Jaguars, 2002 Houston Texans (injured reserve) LeRoy Butler, S -- 1990-2001 Green Bay Packers Devin Hester, PR/KR/WR -- 2006-2013 Chicago Bears, 2014-2015 Atlanta Falcons, 2016 Baltimore Ravens, 2016 Seattle Seahawks Torry Holt, WR -- 1999-2008 St. Louis Rams, 2009 Jacksonville Jaguars Andre Johnson, WR -- 2003-2014 Houston Texans, 2015 Indianapolis Colts, 2016 Tennessee Titans Sam Mills, LB -- 1986-1994 New Orleans Saints, 1995-97 Carolina Panthers Richard Seymour, DE/DT -- 2001-08 New England Patriots, 2009-2012 Oakland Raiders Zach Thomas, LB -- 1996-2007 Miami Dolphins, 2008 Dallas Cowboys DeMarcus Ware, LB -- 2005-2013 Dallas Cowboys, 2014-2016 Denver Broncos Reggie Wayne, WR -- 2001-2014 Indianapolis Colts Patrick Willis, LB -- 2007-2014 San Francisco 49ers Bryant Young, DE/DT -- 1994-2007 San Francisco 49ers
  14. There really are a lot of interesting games this week. Last week was kind of a stinker, but there are FIVE games I'd really like to see, not counting the Bills.
  15. They need to start over; another year with Ben is a wasted year IMO. I assume they'll be looking to draft, or maybe try and pick someone up in free agency.
  16. I posted a ton of that stuff on one of these threads a while ago. I think it's all really interesting and thought provoking. Our uniforms are incredibly bland and old fashioned; there is so much more they could be doing with them. The red/white/blue color scheme is classic and so easy to work with, too. Yeah, but it is a concept! That's why it exists; it starts a discussion.
  17. Yeah, he's done. I don't think Pittsburgh gives him another year, so it makes sense to retire now.
  18. Tasker was a really solid wide receiver, when he actually saw some game time. I think of him as the Wes Welker type of slot receiver, who would have caught the ball for 10 million yards if Tom Brady was throwing him the ball in the modern game. He was fast, quick and shifty, and had good hands. Also surprisingly stout and well put together for a little guy. I remember him scoring a TD one time and doing a flip to celebrate in the end zone, such was the extent of his natural athletic ability.
  19. John Clayton was asked (yet again) about this several weeks ago, and he is a guy who has a vote for the HOF and knows all the politics/discussion going on in those circles. He just doesn't see Tasker getting into the HOF.
  20. The secondary market for Lego at Ebay and a website called Bricklink is ENORMOUS. All of my old Lego bricks are still in my mom's attic in Buffalo. I have 2 nephews who are now in college, but who grew up in Buffalo playing with my Lego (and tons of their own too). One of them built the jewel of my collection: the "yellow castle" and it was fun to see it built at Xmas time some years ago, after having last seen in in like 1982. They charge a premium price but it's a premium product. There are many knockoff brands out there at cheaper prices, but the pieces suck. They don't stay together, they're made from inferior plastic, and so on. The thing that's great about Lego as a toy for a kid is that the kit you buy is just the beginning. I spent about 99.9% of my time building my own creations/designs with my bricks. There are entire websites/forums dedicated to making your own cool stuff out of Lego. Anyway, I can't think of a more productive thing for a child to do, as compared to other toy options out there.
  21. I drink 2 mugs of brewed coffee every morning, and that's pretty much it for the day. I am always amazed at the very strong and palpable impact that caffeine has on my body. It's actually quite a strong drug. I wouldn't be able to wake up or function without it.
  22. They said this last year too, and there was surprisingly little interest in him. Maybe that changes this year. Who knows. It's the sort of bridge worth crossing as a fan only when we come to it, IMO.
  23. That number is misleading because it is a product of 18 receptions on 23 targets--not much activity. With greater throws, the catch percentage will come down. Not that McKenzie hasn't been a breath of fresh air.
  24. I agree with you except I don't think there is going to be much of a trade market for him. I just think we won't re-sign him when the time comes. The OP is basically just trying to get more out of Tremaine's natural athleticism, which makes sense. The problem is with his low football IQ; he limits himself.
