Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills
Nextmanup replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Sabres Rasmus Dahlin was quickly playing himself out of the league with previous Sabres coaching. Then he gets a solid coach who knows how to develop a young player, and his game is reinvented totally. Now, he's a legit Norris Trophy candidate, this year. Coaching matters. -
I don't follow why you wrote sentences 1-3. What does your incident have to do with Tre? Your fourth sentence is a good question. I am surprised at the number of people calling into question Tre's "toughness" or desire to play, etc. I think the whole thing is ridiculous. I do wonder what the hold up is, though. I hope his medical/rehab care has not been sub-par.

We don't do #1 or #2 very well at all. And the game is going to be played in a blizzard. Other than those factors, it should be a cake walk.
-
Thank goodness the Buffalo Bills have you here to police this sort of thing for them. I'm sure they are very appreciative. I notice how you feel the need to qualify the word "team." Because you don't know which Bills team you're going to get.

I like the guy who gave your post a thumb's down! LOL. Your post here is like a little news story; a statement of fact about 2 really bad calls. And he gives it the thumbs down! What does that even mean? 😂 What things like this show is that the game is still FAR from perfectly officiated. There are mistakes all over the place in every game. This is because it is impossible to have a "perfectly" officiated game. It's also why the entire review/challenge/IR system should be thrown in the garbage and go back to 1970s rules. Make the calls live, on the field, with human eyes at the speed of the game, and everyone gets to live with the consequences good or bad. It will more or less even out for everyone with the passage of time, avoid so much bull####, and make the game so much quicker.

The foolishness of posts like this were literally pointed out 2 posts above yours...and you submitted it anyway. That's classic. 👍 -
Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills
Nextmanup replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, on Sunday, his first comments in the post-game PC threw Josh under the bus. You can listen to it you know, at wgr550.com. Instead of a generic, team oriented comment like "we didn't play well enough to win" or similar crap, he directly went to the issue of turning the ball over so many times. He said "It's really hard to win when you don't protect the ball like that" or similar. Considering Josh fumbled the exchange and made two HORRID interception throws, if those comments don't shine a lot on the QB, I don't know what would. You can just tell; the guy has a TINY *****. -
Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills

I'm glad you provided that chart. There has been a huge amount of complaining about that decision to go for it vs. not, with everyone assuming it was the wrong thing to do simply because it didn't work out. I loved the decision (at the time). We have been EXCELLENT at analytic-based decisions on 4th down and I honestly can't believe McDermott (being so conservative by nature) has a team/staff that is this forward thinking . I agree we need MORE of this and not less. -
Why do some Bills fans refuse to have confidence in this team?
Nextmanup replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think you're missing the significance of the "1 score" statistic. Like, entirely. -
The lesson is don't B word about the coordinators; we don't have enough info. as fans to really know what's going on. I was never a Daboll attacker, nor do I ever complain now about Dorsey. I am surprised, however, that Daboll is doing such a good job in NY; didn't really expect it.

No, it's horrible. The monster snow dumps do tend to take place in the Southtowns, but not exclusively. The real killer is gray sky as far as the eye can see for a week at a time, combined with cold air, wind, all signs of life outdoors gone. It's a solid 6 months of death each year, to varying degrees. Not all max winter weather for the full 6, but it's getting ***** there now! It won't be nice in Buffalo again until next June!

Our injuries in the secondary are killing us
Nextmanup replied to Cray51's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have had health problems with the defensive secondary all season, and until recently, the quality of our sub play was a strong point. It was better than expected in many ways. So if it's now suddenly the problem, it's a recent problem and maybe it can go back to being OK. -
This is true and I agree with you. But you have to remember that probably more than half of this forum doesn't agree with us. A lot of folks are here to slot into a community and feel a sense of togetherness. "Us" vs. "the world" and all that. They want to surround themselves with a feel-good Bills bubble, all the time. You can't reason with these people.
-
Yeah, it's not that simple at all. A lot of bad snow games are damned near impossible to throw very well, simply b/c everyone on the field is slipping and sliding, including the receivers who know where they are going. Snow = messy, old school, lousy football, more often than not. They are talking about a massive snow storm; if that thing hits, it will be difficult to play football at all. God forbid these idiots would build a dome, and put it downtown.

Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills

No, it's (now) 18 pages of Bills-related discussion, inspired by one Tweet. Half of it is garbage, but half of every thread here is garbage. -
The Bills lost yesterday because… (karma reasons only)
Nextmanup replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
Read my comment again, Einstein. We (that's me and others) haven't suffered enough as Bills fans, so we had to suffer more. That's why it went the way it did. It wasn't so much an act as an omission to act. You asked the question, I gave you the answer, and now you B word about it. -

On the other hand, this could be an opportunity to expand your Bills wardrobe! 😀 -
I understand your point, but how do we know the coaches didn't tell Josh before he went on the field "REMEMBER, NO TURNOVERS; STAY FOCUSED; HOLD THE BALL WITH TWO HANDS" etc... And then Josh goes out and messes up the exchange. I know, "lack of detail" reflects on coaching and it's coaching's responsibility to make sure the team doesn't miss detail...but the coaches can't go on the field and handle the exchange themselves. We don't really know how much the staff focused on, or didn't focus on, "DETAIL" at the moment or in the week leading to the game. I have to assume the coaches told Josh 100 times all week "PROTECT YOUR DAMANGED ARM/ELBOW" and so Josh goes out and tries to punch the ball out with his bad arm. Then lies on the ground like he was shot. The coaches can't play for him.

It was something like the last time we lost, at home, after being that much ahead at halftime, was in 1968 I think. (Some time in the late '60s). Someone actually commented on that at the time in the game thread, saying, "I hate when they say this stuff, because it makes you wonder" or something...clearly hinting at the profound jinxing power of such a comment! This is absolutely the correct answer, Igotbills. Close the thread! -
Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills
Nextmanup replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just re-reading the TWEET from Wawrow. He really did say almost nothing. There are "internal issues to contend with". And he suggested these may unglue the team like the vaccination thing did last year. That's not a lot of hard information. Internal issues could be anything! I think it is interesting that a bunch of posters have suggested possible friction based on salary in terms of who gets how much. I wouldn't have guessed that, but maybe that's it. I don't know. To me, that's not very juicy. -
Wait, what?! This should be its own thread. That all happened very quickly, and then Fox shot off to a commercial break. And then with everything going on in the game, it seems like there wasn't time to dwell on that particular mini-episode. Josh ran over and tried to punch the ball out with his throwing/wounded arm. He then collapsed face first on the ground and didn't really move. I honestly thought he SEVERELY injured his elbow OR got knocked out in the collision. When they came back from break, he seemed to be happily sitting on the bench looking normal, and receiving no medical care. What the hell was he doing lying on the ground? CRYING? WHY? Because he was just upset about throwing the pick? B/C he let his temper flair and he tried to punch the ball out with his wounded arm? Like he was mad at himself for losing control in that moment? Maybe a little of both? It was a very strange point in the game and no one is really discussing this, at least to my knowledge.

Bills Open up as 9.5 pt favorite vs Cleveland
Nextmanup replied to RoyBatty is alive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, it might come down a bit, but the spread makes sense. We are still the better team, even if we are going over some bumps in the road right now. -

Because Bills fans have not suffered enough, according to the football gods. More pain is likely. -

Of course the Bills CAN do this! Who would argue that? The point is that you have to play percentages in life, and recent developments suggest that they are unlikely to do what you say we can do. I'm just playing the odds here (with regards to something like us winning the SB). If Josh doesn't get his head right, and fast, the season will likely be lost. Missing the playoffs is not out of the question right now too!
