I feel dirty after that Browns loss
Phil The Thrill replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
didn’t have a 4th quarter win today -
Yes this is the reality. I will bet $1,000 that McDermott and Beane get their full 5 years, barring a 1-3 win season next year. Also to anyone thinking Daboll is getting fired - that won’t happen either. McDermott is very safe in his position and he’s not going to make a move. Say what you will, but McDermott and later Beane had a plan in 2017 and they are seeing the it through - the philosophy of “win now, win tomorrow.” Many believe that internally the Bills are looking at 2020 as the big year to make a run. That’s probably why they didn’t trade a 1st round pick for a soon-to-be FA like AJ Green or Mel Gordon. The only thing that didn’t go to plan was the fact that the Bills won too many games in 2017 and made the playoffs. So they had to basically start their “rebuild” in 2018. You can argue they still overachieved by winning 6 games. And they’ll likely win between 8-10 this year which you can argue is progress. Even if they win 7 you can spin it as progress. In 2020, let’s say they finish 6-10. It’s a bad season but Terry loves McDermott and Beane. Is he really going to want to start over? Will he keep Beane and fire McDermott? NO it won’t happen. If they go 6-10 he dusts off the Russ Brandon continuity statement and then McDermott is on the hot seat in year 5. But he will get a full 5 years barring some sort of catastrophe

hate to tell you this... but TODAY was a winnable game. The way the Bills are playing on offense they’ll be lucky to be 7-5. They have a bad QB who fails to score more than 20 pts and a defense who can’t stop the run They showed a lot of fight at the end of the game, eh? -

This game was such a bummer. No Other way that you can spin it. I feel really down on this team -
Simple poll. Is Josh Allen improving as a passer?
Phil The Thrill replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Easy question. Yes he has improved as a passer. Just take a look at his short throws which plagued him in college. The biggest question is “has he improved enough?” -

Remember how the Bills screwed up their comp formula by signing standout free agents like Philly Brown, Andre Holmes, Vlad Duccasse and Pat DeMarco? -

Cole Beasley not being utilized right.
Phil The Thrill replied to CEN-CAL17's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pretty sure it’s mostly the QB that isn’t finding Beasley. To be fair, Beasley was targeted early in the year. He responded by dropping a few passes -
Ed Oliver first half grade

He just has not been very good. He did nothing today. I noticed that on 2 Petersen’s big runs in the first run, Oliver was blown off the ball. I -
Which Local Sports Radio Station do you listen to?

Sully’s show is not that bad. He brings on a lot of guests. Also he has connections and they sit in the studio with him. -
WR Donte Moncrief released by Steelers
Phil The Thrill replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was not good last year. If you think that Moncrief is better than any of the current on the roster, I say it’s worth looking to -

Phil The Thrill replied to 1997WS6's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Say what you will, but good old Jerry Sullivan has really done a good job to raise the profile for 1270 AM which was a pretty crappy AM station that no one was listening to. Granted the audience is still small in comparison to WGR but his morning show definitely helped -

Peko released, Taylor to 53

It’s a good move for Buffalo. He can’t be worse than Peko and can only be better at winning matchups -
WGR-550 Dust-up Today: Schopp vs. Capaccio!
Phil The Thrill replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree but your example of Belichick is flawed. How did Belichick develop such “intelligence?” It wasn’t because he used to play college football was it? -
WGR-550 Dust-up Today: Schopp vs. Capaccio!
Phil The Thrill replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There obviously is some tension between. McDermott and Schopp. If you remember, last year he basically hung up on Schopp. Mike was off-air the next two segments, obviously talking to someone - either McDermott, Derek Boyko or someone from the station. This season, McDermott chose not to do his regular interview segment with Schopp. Instead he speaks to Howard and Jeremy on Friday. I have always thought that this was pretty telling. -
WGR-550 Dust-up Today: Schopp vs. Capaccio!

Sal won the debate. Mike’s biggest metric for saying that the 2014 Bills teams are better is point differential? GTFOH
