  1. with the dead money at play, if the price is right, he might be back here. I won't be mad either way. It will 100% be a business decision.
  2. Feel the same. We've been doing this for a long time. What is there to feel better or worse about? We're the better team. They are either smarter, better prepared, or more composed. or some combination of all 3. Every year, we beat them in the regular season, lose when it counts. Life of a Bills fan. If we stay this competitive, maybe someday we'll beat them. You'd think we could win maybe 1 out of 10 coin flips, even in the coin is slightly balanced to go the other way.
  3. People are making too much of the chiefs knowing it was coming. Everyone knew what was coming and in what direction. this is a play where you count on your guys winning a battle that everybody knows is coming. our one advantage should have been that we know when the snap is coming, so we can start moving first. well, now we know that we aren't going to just always get it every time. Clearly, next year we will need to diversify our short yardage package.
  4. i hardly even care to read through this thread. the problem is that we are actually better than them RIGHT NOW. We have our best offensive line in 30 years, and still, we can't come up with 1 yard on several different tries, despite being over 90% on similar plays all year long. people will go on about why we didn't try something different. There is a mindset you are allowed to play with when you have a 90% plus play in your pocket. When that goes away, there is not a replacement for it. There is not a backup option that is also "automatic." To me, the number one thing we need to do is diversify our 1 yard package, while still somehow maintaining close to the same success rate we had all year up until the chiefs game. Or we just need to be so much better than them that the small things don't matter.
  5. should he have some ability to recognize that a blitz actually happened and adjust to not running his full route? Ive never been an NFL receiver in the middle of a play. Are these guys completely unaware of what's happening at the LOS? It's is what it is. He doesn't have the combination of body control and hand eye coordination to catch a ball when he has to make a major adjustment. That's just something that separates him from the kind of player who can.
  6. please. Kurt Warner couldn't dream of making some of the throws Allen makes. The brain goes to different places depending on what you're capable of. Imagine a world where Josh Allen only attempted to make plays based on Kurt Warners capabilities. And i'll say this, Kurt Warner would likely be better at being Kurt Warner than Josh Allen. But Kurt Warner never had the option to be what Josh Allen is.
  7. kurt warner has no idea what its like to play inside the body of Josh allen. Josh allen wouldn't be josh allen if he played the way Kurt warner played. Was Josh Allen the least sacked qb in the nfl this year? I think he's just confident in his own way of playing the game. And it could have worked out. SHould have? maybe
  8. He's far worse than Diggs. Diggs was always going to eventually turn into a problem. It's just his makeup. but he was pretty well behaved for 2 years. Maybe 2.5.
  9. i voted no, but I wouldn't be mad if they got him. his talent for a 2nd rd pick is bargain bin shopping. you can't pay out what his ability is worth. but there is a price point for everybody. Risk/Reward. was different when they had big ben. they don't have an alpha qb to corral the divas. or to make them happy with competent play.
  10. not saying it's a better situation than we have. but it's near home for josh. and it's a change of scenery if that's ever something he decides to look for. fingers crossed he wants to be here for life and finish what he started. but i couldn't be mad at him if he decided to try something different at some point.
  11. this game was a learning experience in a really bad spot to have to learn. We are going to have to diversify our short yardage package BIG TIME next year. We knew the chiefs were on it last night, but we just didn't have any other options because that had worked for us ALL YEAR--with the exception of the Rams game. Or maybe we just weren't capable of running any other very high percentage plays for 1 yard. Look at the result of that 3rd and 2 Allen run against the Ravens where we were really just hoping for 1 yard. we aren't good in those spots. is it our players? our o-line coach? just not working hard enough to plan for other stuff? It happened against the Rams. If we had the players or the play callers to do anything about it, we should have done it then.
  12. what a difference a week makes.
  13. could we figure out how to draw up some plays where we throw the ball past the sticks on 3rd down? and how much of our entire offensive philosophy goes up in flames when the tush push doesn't work. having that in our pocket completely dictated our offensive philosophy on 2 and short and 3rd and short. i guess we'll have to get a little more creative knowing that play isn't what we thought it was for us.
  14. has it been discussed whether kincaid got screwed out of a first on the play before 4th and one? would be great to have a slow mo replay of that. looks like a first in real time. not that it matters.
  15. i don't know how you hockey fans do it. there should be maybe 2,000 fans in those seats every night.
  16. would it be too hard for josh to pass up a chance to play for the 49ers if this continues? don't take him for granted. there's no guarantee we get his whole career.
  17. tough that we have to measure our failures and successes based on how we play against a team that everyone else blows up against as well. Groot? idk. top 10 guy. not a top 3 to 5. doesn't seem to have that take over gene. if he needs to be paid like a DPoY candidate, we can't do that. how much less do we get to pay him versus a garrett, crosby, watt, etc.? is this like with QBs where guys like Tua and maybe Purdy make as much money as the Real ones like Josh, Patrick and Lamar? And if Rousseau is as good as we seem to think he is, how bad is the rest of our D. we stunk this year. no getting around that.
  18. on one hand, I think the exact same way here. On the other hand, it is odd that we always look at a football game through the lens of "if you have the ball at the end of the game with a chance to win, the defense has done their job" the thing with our offense is that when you look at some of the chiefs scoring drives, it looks so easy for them. every scoring drive we have is extremely tense, needing multiple big plays. is that a function of the play calling, or josh just not letting things be easy? or am i just imagining it.
  19. ALlen can do things mahomes can't. but mahomes is better than him. we're gonna need a 3 score lead on KC if we ever want a chance to beat them in the playoffs.
  20. maybe kincaid just doesn't love it and isn't putting in the work. im not really sure what kind of work goes into having elite NFL type hands. a lot natural, obviously. but are the guys who are really good spending a ton of time with the jugs machine compared to others? Is Kincaid a choker, or does he just not put in the work? or maybe he was just never as talented as we thought.
  21. i can maybe get on board with this.
  22. tonight is the least bitter ive been about mcdermott in a loss in a long time. defense did a decent job in the 2nd half. offense moved the ball a bit. i can live with the 2 pt conversion calls, even if i disagree. brady was underwhelming, but I don't think anybody wants to see him go. how much of the trenches getting their butts handed to them is on the coaching? idk. things just went KCs way. they always do.
  23. we are never getting rid of mcdermott. the best we can hope for is pegula demanding he hire somebody to have complete autonomy on defense. But again, our biggest flaw tonight was not being able to pick 1 and 2 yards when we needed it.
  24. WE possibly have the best offensive line we've ever had. and we couldn't move the ball 1 yard at a time. i feel like I did 4 years ago again. hopeless. no matter what we do, they'll somehow do it better.
  25. mostly, we just got beat in the trenches today. you can over analyze this game to death. if we can move the ball 1 and 2 yards, like we did all year, we win this game. You can look at some calls by the refs that hurt us, but we did more to hurt ourselves imo.
