  1. it's called emotional regulation.
  2. This forum is the absolute worst with moving and merging threads.
  3. lol@ you throwing his 3.2 avg from his 4th year into a 3 year avg from his other lesser seasons to come up with that 3.9. immediately done reading your post as soon as i see that. that 3.2 stands alone. do not put it together with a 4.4 season and a 4.0 season which also included 59 receptions and 8 TDs
  4. For all the dummies out there, Diggs' cap hits over the next 4 years are: 31 mil, 22 mill, 13 mil and 4 mil. Definitely not getting rid of him this year. Not next year either unless he goes full Antonio Brown. Maybe 2026. Sorry, that was rude.
  5. But not too specific. when threads are too specific, they are in great danger of being merged with a 3000 page general info thread.
  6. These people do not have the time to watch 4 quarters of 15 games every week. they are looking stat sheets and making up their own narrative. i stopped watching and listening to sports commentary a long time ago when i figured out that i knew more about my favorite teams than them. the only guys worth watching are those who actually know how to break down plays and understand the nuance behind the stats.
  7. Shady was great one year and good two others. His last year was bad, but he was old. that's what happens to many RBs as they approach 30. of course he was fantastic for several years with philly when he was in physical prime.
  8. ok, this is nice, but why? He has a home city and home town. How did this evolve?
  9. But there never has really been such a raw talent that they nailed as a high first round pick like this...is there? Typically, people only know what they have seen before. Where did they see a Josh Allen before? Even a Josh Allen at a different position...
  10. It honestly impresses me that the scouts could see through the stats, over throws, etc. seems like a guy they would peg as a "RAW" talent and slot in a later round. but there was a pretty strong consensus that he was a top 10 guy. Though i wonder how many teams that obsessed over analytics wouldn't have seen him as anything more than 3rd round or worse
  11. i have never been into the draft. nobody ever seems to know what is what; who is who, and i certainly don't hold myself above that. when the bills made the pick, i wasn't excited. i wasn't mad either. it was always gonna be a wait, see, and hope.
  12. what's with all the speculation on reid retiring. that guy is gonna die 6 months after he steps down, right? i would replace mcd with a ben johnson or harbaugh for sure, but the list isn't long. if you're gonna start that search, you better be sure they are going to say yes. and how many teams have fired a guy with McDermott's record. 70% or whatever in the regular season and 500 in the playoffs. We all think it should be better, but realistically, how many are getting fired with that track record?
  13. maybe he stepped down, but was given a nudge in that direction. ie: "you are still the d coordinator, but I am calling the plays next year." that's the most likely scenario in the mind of random board poster Man with no name, if it's true that he stepped down.
  14. I agree with this to an extent. on the other hand, it's kind of the same picture we've been looking at for 5 years. And the Chiefs have not looked that good on offense against anyone else as of late. incredibly frustrating. we were missing the linebackers, but we had many of our capable players in the defensive backfield.
  15. again, you are taking a generalized stat of ALL throws and extrapolating to a 30 yard route. get out of here. he didn't have all day, unfortunately. and it was the right call to throw to the open man in the end zone. the end.
  16. those averages are how long they TOOK to throw. Not how long they HAD to throw. for all kinds of different routes. you can't extrapolate a generalized stat like that into "He should have gotten rid of the ball quicker" on a 30 plus yard route.
  17. average time between snap and throwing ball. OR pressure. and they often throw the ball without pressure, and those throws are included in the average.
  18. pocket time is not how long until you face pressure, it is how long until you release, which often comes without pressure. and when you are throwing a bunch of balls 0 to 5 yards down the field, that is bringing the average way down.
  19. has anybody looked at how much time allen had from the snap to when he let go of the ball? i don't know enough to say whether he should have felt that pressure quickly enough to step away from it.
  20. an interesting comment that struck me on the eagles board was that reid had jim johnson for most of his tenure there, and when he left, the wheels fell off. when pedersen had his great success, schwartz was there. and of course reid now with spagnuolo. . does mcdermott have his johnson or spagnuolo on the other side of the ball? nope he wants a puppet who he can control as an extension of his own limited decision making brain. A level coaches hire A level assistants. b level coaches hire c level assistants, so they can maintain control. but i don't know what's out there. is there a great candidate we should be hiring?
  21. I've come around this. didn't think he deserved it in the spirit of what the award was made for, but this is a very special case. we don't need to be so rigid all the time. the man was dead for several? minutes on national TV. I sat in my living room and cried for him and his teammates, along with millions of others. this transcends what the award is meant to be. I applaud the choice, and hope everybody can see it is something meaningful and special and not just another participation award. he came back to life. literally. he is THE comeback player of the year
  22. LOl@ the bills being 76% favorites with 2 minutes left. that is what you call a broken computer my friends. and the bills had the ball at the end of the game? had they scored, the chiefs were always gonna have the ball back with decent clock left.
  23. you know what i do when i see thread topics that don't interest me? I move past them without clicking.
