  1. I wonder if Beane and co. can get creative and get us back into the 4th round. Filling needs with best available talent is looking good at this point. I hope they can keep up the momentum.
  2. It's awesome when we can get 1st round talent in the 2nd round
  3. any talent that will help Josh, was ok with me. I liked Hock but I trust the process. Lets see how the rest of the weekend unfolds
  4. I figured we would lose out on Hock to Detroit. I am ok with a premier talent in the entire draft falling in our lap. Welcome to Buffalo Mr. Oliver. Time to get to work.
  5. I like the idea of Hock at #9 and I think the OP made some extremely valid points. Especially the take on Daboll knowing how important the TE position is to a strong offense. Hock could definitely help Allen and the entire offense develop over the next several years. He could be as dynamic as McKeller was for Kelly and the K-gun back in the day.
  6. I remember that episode on the Marv Levy Show, back in the day. The EMPIRE Sports Network was ahead of its time, any and all sports in WNY. The Thurman Thomas Show, Andre Reed, Jim Kelly....all were amazing. I find myself singing Marv's song during the offseason and during training camp. Good Stuff, GREAT memories...
  7. the trade included Jabrill Peppers. I said Julius. my mistake. If I had a player with a bad attitude that I just gave a huge contract too, and a team offered me their 1st, 3rd and a player at a position of need. I would jump at it even if I had to take a big cap hit.
  8. OBJ was as big of a headache for the Giants as Brown was for the Steelers. I can't believe NY got a 1st,3rd and a young star in S Julius Peppers KUDDOS.... I wonder how Landry is going to handle less touches with OBJ in the mix. I hope Odell's injury issues don't follow him to CLE.
  9. I really like this kid. Nicknamed Mongo by Raider Nation. ? ?
  10. Bones break and ligaments tear, but I get concerned when I hear the word concussions associated with FA signings. I am sure the finest Dr.'s, the most advanced technology is used but at the end of the day, the effect head injuries have on players is hard to measure. I am excited about the additions to the team, but cautiously optimistic that they will all work out.
  11. I like everything about this signing. The last guy we had on our roster that played in the AFL, turned out to be pretty good too. Versatile, smart, could be a mentor for a rookie. Solid signing.
  12. Eric Wood liked him during the Gailey administration. That is good enough for me. Besides based on what I saw last season, I doubt he could be any worse.
  13. This game is a terrific example of how a team that plays in a dome finds it difficult to compete in cold weather during the playoffs.
  14. IF they cut Clay, restructure both Hughes and Shady's contracts for the next two years, I believe they would be in a great position going into FA this offseason.
  15. I agree with the O-line and Tight End assessment. We need a true #1 receiver. But I like Foster, Jones and McKenzie as playmakers going forward. I have confidence that Shady will be effective and productive next season but adding some young fresh legs to the position should be a priority, this off season. But this is the first time since the Mid 90's that I am not at all concerned about our QB situation going into next yr.
  16. Wow. Something needs to happen in Pittsburgh. This is a mess. First Bell, now Brown. Makes me wonder about the culture in their locker room. Bunch of Prima Donna's in the steel city.
  17. Was fantastic watching him learn the game, glad it was on the field and not on the sideline. He is a very talented player with a very high ceiling. I am looking forward to see how the team is put together this offseason.
  18. Coach McDermott was asked about the kneel down/ time out in his press conference. He admitted it was to get the defense on the field, so he could call a T.O. and Kyle could get a standing ovation. Great tribute to a great player. Thankfully this was handled properly. I remember the Wood presser. What a fiasco.
  19. I am more disappointed than I am surprised. Very appreciative of how he represented the Bills and the City of Buffalo. He played the game the way it was meant to be played, and always left "IT" on the field. He was a great role model to the young players coming in and a huge reason we ended last season with a winning record. Much respect and appreciation. Enjoy your Future Mr. Williams.
  20. The Price is WRONG.
  21. You might want to look at the dates. the same day the Bills restructure Ritchie's contract for his final year, Norwell signs with the Jaguars for Huge Money. Ritchie didn't ask for his release from Buffalo until April 15th. At the time Buffalo signed Star and Murphy, which was in March, there was no need to sign a guard. They thought they had Ritchie for 1 more year.
  22. IMO.The loss of Wood and Cog is probably the most overlooked offseason scenario that happened this year. Clearly the Bills were in "Let's find our QB" mode back in January and April, prior to the draft. They didn't have the time or the resources to replace Incognito. With the Wood situation they at least had Groy as a viable option (or so they thought) and they signed Bodine who was a starter in CIN. But the loss of one of the best guards in the league was devastating. Not just to the team but also to Shady. Ritchie and Shady had a special relationship on the field. Shady had trust and confidence in Cog and Wood. To me shady is not running with confidence and with good reason. Also throw in the fact that chemistry along the o-line has not been established and it is easy to see why we have the worst o-line and rushing attack in the league. Kudos to the OP
  23. The kid is learning and handling adversity very well. He didn't turn the ball over today. Considering the situation of our offense and his scouting report pre-draft. He is playing fantastic football. Is he leading us to the playoffs?.....Not this season. But with additional talent around him, he very well could in the future.
  24. To me the biggest difference in this game was the amount of time Allen had in the pocket. The Lions shut down his running lanes and forced him to stay in the pocket and the team got the win. 4th and 5th string RB's, receivers continuing to drop catchable passes, Allen was able to keep his poise and will this team to a win. For years I have been complaining about the lack of heart our QB's have displayed on game day. Josh is the heart this team needs. Great win
