  1. I'm all for it, since I hear they only make 80% of a man's wages.
  2. "We tried to get Dalton for you, but ended up with McCaron"
  3. Ketchup on beef is an abomination. Fries only
  4. You are making an assumption of guilt that there is collusion. It's quite possible teams looked at the contract cost, analysis of return on investment and PR and decided independently that CK was not worth it. That is not collusion or illegal. Unless you want to live in an autocratic planned economy, you can't force companies to hire people. CK would have been smarter, not opting out, and had SF let him go then build a case. But he didn't, he quit after going 1-10 in his last 11 starts and misread the market. Wasn't expected to be in high demand when he walked. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/18796373/colin-kaepernick-san-francisco-49ers-opts-contract
  5. He still has Gronk, White, Hogan Plenty of targets to send to capable receivers
  6. This is progress from the quadrouple amputation he had in the offseason https://sports.theonion.com/is-andrew-luck-fully-recovered-from-his-quadruple-amput-1825592390

  8. Sportrac is reporting Eric Wood's 2018 cap hit as $10.39 Million. $4.8 Base $4.33 Bonus $1.25 Restructured bonus
  9. Hey Ice Bowl. How are you feeling about the Pack this year? Do you think they addressed the Def and O-line enough? PS thanks for Hyde. ?
  10. What I like is that the Bills FO swung for the fences on not one but both 1st round picks. Allen and Edmunds have the ability and traits to both be elite, but had lower perceived floors than safer picks. The Bills did not play it safe or let that talent go by. They went up and grabbed both, without mortgaging the future. If they can hit on one or both of these guys then we have the potential to have elite 'QBs' of the offense and defense. It's very early, but there is a glimmer there.
  11. While agree with you, not rushing Allen into the starting role is probably wise, why would you want to go sign a poor man's Tyrod Taylor?
  12. I like this, seems like three guys competing for the role, but willing to help each other. Maybe there is a silver lining in not having an entrenched starter. A QB room with a known competition for the starting position, but egos left at the door. That kind of cooperation and leadership should help set a tone for the team and seems to fit McDermott's vision.
  13. When do the actions of one person permit violent actions to a different person? Oh yeah, you don't see people as individuals. Lefties see blocks of people, and marginalize their value and complexities as individuals. Race baiting and identify politics don't work so well when the complexities of individuals are permitted.
  14. That is what has me too... I really can't tell because it is the Post.... So this is what the Twilight Zone is like
  15. Common misconception here regarding electric cars. 64% of the electricity used to power those cars in the USA is generated by fossil fuels (natural gas 32% and coal 30%). https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/index.php?page=electricity_in_the_united_states A lot of people buying and flouting their use of electric cars get to virtue signal their commitment to environmentalism while ironically supporting fracking and coal mining. The pollution is simply moved upstream in the supply chain. Ironically the same people using such electric vehicles will often be among the first to condemn burning fossil fuels, fracking and the newer deregulation on coal mining, all the while increasing demand for those very things.
  16. It's funny you said that. A friend and I were thinking back to what point tv news started to decline. We both settled on the first Gulf War where it was covered like a video game.
  17. This is Beane's 1st off-season as GM, same with the entire pro player personnel and scouting office. Let's get that straight first And no, one off-season is not enough to do a complete tear down and rebuild. Especially with the cap issues the Bills had entering this off season.
  18. I remember taking shroom tech in the 90's. It messed me up too. I don't recall it coming in a bottle from GNC. I think it was in tin foil, and from a hippy named Daisy, but the details of that day are a bit foggy. I only remember a waft of patchouli.
  19. Don't go down that rabbit hole, it hurts really bad. I wanted to take some time on commenting about Zay Jones' rookie year and off season. On the negative side: - I am legitimately concerned about how Zay Jones has handled this off-season. Needed 2 surgeries, not a good sign, and waited till the end of May for a leg issue. I do wonder why he waited so long, but the multiple surgery requirements thing makes some sense I suppose. Hard to use crutches on a torn labrum and recovery from that surgery - The LA situation was terrible. - His target to catch ratio was terrible in his rookie season, even his mom teased him on social media. - Prior to LA, Buffalo was making Zay one of the young faces of the team in promotional material, he ruined that On the optimist side: I've also been watching pro football long enough to know many excellent WRs need a season or two to catch up to the pro game. Most WRs break out in season 2 or 3. - The OBJ/ Deandre Hopkins of the world and the faster pace of everything makes people less patient, but the normalized statistical model for a WR is a breakout in yr 2 or 3. - Jones did play through a torn labrum all year and did not complain or use it as an excuse, even when he was getting mocked in social media and among fans - took a terrible and awkward hit to the knee in the Jets game and kept playing through the game and season. I thought he was done for the season after that hit but kept playing through the season. He has moxy and will play through pain, gotta give a guy credit for that - He had the 2nd most uncatchable targets last year. PFF (not perfect but a measuring stick) almost half (46%) of his 'targets' were uncatchable. He never called out the QB or the offensive scheme. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DNPVC1AUEAAO8q8.jpg (the #1 was John Brown (AZ), who also had a terrible year after multiple productive seasons) I think fans who have watched the pro game for 10 or more years know WRs need a year or two to flourish. This isn't a Madden video game where you plug and play guys. Sometimes patience is needed. The fact 40% of his 'targets' were garbage, and he still managed to get a hand on many of them shows range. Add in that he did that with a torn labrum and then knee issue shows me something. I hope Zay Jones uses his rookie season and this horrible off-season to get his head on streight. He needs to know he is in the public spotlight now as a professional athlete and handle his business professionally. I can't crucify a 20 something person for partying a little too hard. Many of us have been there and are not famous, or did so before the omipresence of social media (thank god). He has a supportive family of other professional athletes (dad, brother) to help. I also think a switch of scheme and better QB play will help. I no longer think Jones can be a #1, but I do think he can be a very productive #2 or slot WR. I hope he does, and that the organization and fans give him a chance to grow into the role.
  20. First half of the season highlights (7-0 start), then a jump to a late punt in the AFL championship game. Ends with Daryle Lamonica selling season tickets. I've seen a lot of film from the 60's and 70's but still had no idea what a vertical passing game the Bills had, who were known for defense and running the ball in the AFL. In retrospect that offense was loaded: QBs: Kemp and Lamonica (!) FB: Gilchrist WRs: Dubenion and Bass TE: Warlick Also note, the Bills have never been afraid to swap out QBs. Multiple times they swapped Daryle Lamonica in for Kemp. Not sure if it was for injuries or to 'mix things up' Ralph Wilson/ Music City Miracle style. https://youtu.be/ObTRT_EGDp8
  21. Fair enough. I don't see him as a guy that elevates the guys around him, but if the talent is there on the line he can hold his own. Most centers fit that bill. To that point he was on a line that lost Whitworth, Zeitler and a RT in a two year span if I am not mistaken. The whole line dropped in performance, Bengal fans could be singling out one of the two remaining starters as a scapegoat. If he does struggle it is comforting to know Groy is there. No one on this OL is a star, but I think there is more depth and at least replacement level quality on the roster than TBD makes out.
