  1. Let's make signs and recruit him Takeo Spikes style during our NE game. I like him.
  2. Thank you! I appreciate it. A lot of people questioned us. We finished 8-2 and lost in the semis so a successful year, but I feel like we left some meat on the bone. We took the eventual state champs to a 7-7 tie in the 4th quarter until they took the lead on us. The season ended on a tipped (3 times!) pass interception. But we will reload.
  3. I would agree with that for sure. I think it will start with special teams. I am a high school varsity coach and teacher so tend to disappear in the fall. Still follow and lurk. Season is over unfortunately so now I have some time to engage more!
  4. I don't want to rehash the talks from draft time, but this guy has a pedigree that makes him more interesting than some other late-round picks. He also offers a size element that doesn't exist anywhere else on the roster. I am guessing someone goes on IR or they release Poona Ford to make room. But I am excited to see Shorter play.
  5. I think they would. I think it's one of those, "hey man be careful you are really close to being Offside. Back up." To me that's a warning. If they are lined up Offside, that's a flag.
  6. My experience with it is that they are telling the ref if they are on or off the line and confirming they are good. When receivers are wide, they sometimes need that confirmation since they are so far from the ball. Typically that conversation doesn't happen in a tight bunch like they had with Toney, just like a tight end would not check if he is on or off. He's literally right there. Toney screwed up.
  7. Mahomes is so full of it. Saying let them play, while at the same time he begs for flags to be thrown the whole game. You want them to let you play or you want to beg for flags? Which one is it? Can't have both.
  8. Yes and no. People run choice routes, but not many are running choice stuff at this intricate level. I see a ton of RPOS and slot fade, mesh rail stuff. Based on my experience, typically at the high school level, it is maybe two or three options. In college the same thing. Then I think the challenge is to find players who can read coverages and have the talent to play in the NFL.
  9. Really good stuff here. This is vintage Tom Brady Ehrhardt-Perkins stuff. I think one of the most important things is continuity with receivers or finding guys who have experience with these choice concepts. Not too many players come out of college with this type of knowledge these days, so it will be interesting where they go in the offseason.
  10. I was gonna make a joke about drops, but I see it has already been covered.
  11. Grab some random dude and have him smack mahomes
  12. That is part of it, but Purdy also has ridiculous skill players who can take it to the house on any play. Allen has to play perfect football to win. Purdy was solid but he did not do a lot on those three-yard passes to Deebo and McCaffrey that they turned into huge gains. I think part of it is a defense problem, the other part of it is a talent issue. Diggs is a really good player, but he is route running technician....He isn't going to catch a slant, break three tackles, stiff-arm a guy, and dive into the endzone. We need offensive skill talent.
  13. Well Steve Wilks is a McDermott disciple, so let’s see what he does differently.
  14. After watching the Cowboys game last night, the Bills match up well with them. However, if the flags fly the way they did last night and last week it's going to be almost impossible to beat them. I also like the matchup with the Chiefs honestly. I think they can do it, but they are going to need some luck. And lady luck has not been on their side. I will say that no one will want to play them in the playoffs, so just get in and see what happens.
  15. I know some coaches who would have kicked a field goal with 7 seconds left and no time out. I love Carroll’s guts.
  16. Philly or Baltimore
  17. That day the Bengals beat the Ravens is up there. The Andy Dalton-Boyd hook-up.
  18. He's really bad. That is why the PFF stuff is interesting to look at, but honestly has very little merit.
  19. The Vikings did the same thing last night during that God-awful football game. The Vikings were doing a great job being exotic and forcing Fields into bad turnovers. Then up 1 with the game on the line, the Vikes rush three and play a soft shell and let the Bears who had done basically nothing all game march down the field and win the game. It's just so inept and embarrassing and it hurts me as a fan that the Bills are that dumb as well.
  20. They sold a whole story about him being a deep threat and a complete receiver and they just have not bothered using him that way. They are just using as a gadget guy which is just dumb and amounts to a huge waste of money. Now maybe he is terrible, but they haven't even tried to use him the way he was used in New Orleans. Somehow Harty has actually outproduced McKittrick this year, albeit for a much bigger contract.
  21. He's more milquetoast than McDermott. I love Reich but he is not the answer.
  22. This is 100% the correct answer
  23. I hate to say it but Belichick gets this team over the hump. Basically, sell your soul for a Super Bowl. I'm good with that. Dream scenario, do everything you can to trade for Sean McVay...ownership shares, ton of money, or whatever. He would be the perfect match for Allen. In terms of current offensive assistants, Ben Johnson is very intriguing for the reasons Gunner mentioned above. The Bengals Brian Callahan is interesting to me as a candidate. He has worked under a number of different guys including Kubiak, Zac Taylor, John Fox, Gruden and he's worked with QBs like Stafford and Peyton Manning, and obviously Burrow. I would think he would bring his dad with him, the best OL coach in the business. An offensive-minded guy who has learned from a number of different systems and has been around the game his entire life. But McDermott is Mike Zimmer with less situational awareness. He has to go imo.
  24. I think he needs to turn this around and get to the AFC championship to keep his job. To dig all the way out of the hole and fail in the playoffs makes it a no in my opinion.
