  1. YEEEEAAAAAAUUUUU smart pick boys. Don't over think it. LEEEEEETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
  2. Bummer. Was hoping Jax takes Hockenson to get him off our board while we nab Josh Allen for da double JA attack: Josh Allen box score: 4 passing touchdowns. 4 sacks!! Alas.. onto Ed Oliver or Juwan Howard
  3. I think the chance of landing a game changing OG that high is much much higher than landing a game changing TE. There just aren't that many in the NFL. I don't want either, but heck i'd go OG if I had to pick all things even since there are far more great OGs you can hit on and be satisfied with the level of play.
  4. Sure that's a good point, but since when did this change happen? It's sort of a self fulfilling prophecy justifying us taking Hockenson along with maybe the 2 other top TEs going 1st if we're making the claim teams value TE's high more 2019 draft and going forward when we're one of those teams. Anyways my other main point is simply production. OJ Howard was the rage, is by no means a bust, and the production just doesn't justify the price for me. For that matter Kittle was what, like the 6th TE taken that year? He wouldn't have been a round 1-2 TE that year even if teams had a premium on TEs. Too much of it is contingent on assuming your Quarterback likes those TE routes as well. Take Jimmy Graham as a top flight TE to underutilized by Russell Wilson and later Aaron Rodgers who's a great QB but simply doesn't give his TEs that much production. It's not always the TE, the QB has to love the routes the TE runs in the offense, on top of the TE being an elite players in his own right. Taking all that into consideration it is a risky prospect: there's very few TEs truly at the top of the totem pole.. they're hard to find, QBs like Wentz or Mahomes target the TE heavily, the OC needs to draw up the right plays to get it working, and even hitting your TE with OJ Howard, a TE you can't really complain about picking, draws little production compared to a high WR. It's paying a steep price to expect a TE to the one of the top 3 in the league.. the production after that goes off a cliff. We're presumably looking for 3 of 32 elite starting TEs rather than 10 of 32 elite WRs or some other position. I think aiming for such a difficult talent to separate from the pack, on top of teams presumably becoming more gung ho on this position is asking for a lot. If you land with OJ Howard, you could have somewhat similar in FA getting a Jesse James or something. The production if things work out isn't terribly hard to replace through other methods outside of a top 10 pick.
  5. I'm anti-1st round TE. Especially that high. My case: the batting average of busts for every TE taken in the 1st round. Also the relatively low production for many that weren't quite busts. We're shooting for that rare tier one TE, of which there's maybe 2 or 3 clear top guys, that really end up anywhere in the draft. Seems like one of the riskiest positions to go high in.
  6. And it's not particularly supposed to be malevolent or anything. Just a form of discipline. Of course when the mother speaks out with concern about it there's some smoke. anyways i don't find AP's case nearly as egregious as Tyreek's history seems to reflect. Not a perfect comparison.
  7. His defense that the switch is a common form of discipline from where he grew up in Texas is sadly very true. Growing up I had plenty of buddies that were beat (not so many switches in suburban areas anymore.. that thing hurts) as a form of discipline and it sucked but never got out of control. There's certainly that kind of culture in the rural Texas areas.. especially when and where AP likely grew up.. no doubt.
  8. Can't tell if you're equating marijuana, speeding, acting like a general diva to domestic violence but I'd wager there's zero correlation between the 2. I only question the regime's character priorities when they're not assessing the real risk reward of say like passing on a Laramie Tunsil (an example, I'm aware Dolphins nabbed him anyway) dropping in the draft after a gas mask bong hit to the reward he gives as a a player. For all of TOs faults some (HOF??) treat him like a dirt bag and let Marvin Harrison's transgressions slide like he's an immaculate pro. For all TO's diva qualities the man wouldn't be capable of violence to another person off field I guarantee that. I'm okay with that type of character flaw so long as the lockerroom doesn't get swept up (and TO isn't the greatest example but let's talk Tunsil). But at the end of the day for me violent legal issues or legal problems that otherwise harm others are the type I steer completely clear of regardless of being percieved as a penultimate teammate. I just don't want to support that character. Marijuana, speeding, being a diva, I'd take those as the lesser of 2 evils even if it may hurt the lockerroom as the lesser evil of the PR hit I have to deal with with my favorite team and players.
  9. Man this sucks i'm in Dallas but I really need to go and be with the fam. Don't think I can get out of this one. Bills at Dallas only happens once in 4 years, I went last time. Thanksgiving football is the best time to watch football I look forward to watching the Bills on a holiday in a lazy food coma if I don't end up going to the game.
  10. I'm annoyed at the complete lack of primetime games. But I admit having a Thanksgiving game is awesome. Looking forward to it
  11. Sounds like we've made a ton of progress in science!
  12. We got a stud center and filled in a LOT of proven high floor veteran depth. Exactly what I wanted. Find our talent with guys we pick in the draft but plug the numerous gaps with some veterans for once to make us competitive every year going forward while we groom the home growns in a winning culture. But the main story for me so for is Mitch Morse. Excited to see the immediate impact he presumably brings to the table. I like fostering a relationship between a franchise QB and a high caliber C. Josh Allen stands to learn a lot from a vet like that calling protections. Not so bad contracts either. We kept it flexible. I want to see some home grown talent kept around here for the next contract if they perform. Best regards. I know co-workers that have had the same diagnosis and gone on to live productive happy lives with the right life style changes.
  13. Right Josh / Wrong Josh FIIIIIIIGHT
  14. No doubt sounds like in this case scenario we just get an elite OT easy peesy. I see Jonah Williams graded a tad higher in mocks. Get him if that's who we like. We get to pick between to top 2 OL in the draft.
  15. He's always has bricklike hands! He didn't suddenly get them!
  16. Johnny Football said exactly not to ****ing do this! Listen to the new voice of AAF reason
  17. Bills market for Josh Allen is rock "hard"
  18. We'll take Rodgers off your hands if he's bringing too much media heat to Green Bay. One great lake City doing a solid to another.
  19. Michigan State looked bad. I got Virginia winning the ship for sure.
  20. No lie I'm pretty sure he purposefully violated his conditions with the CFL to get in on AAF and then it folds haha. Story of Johnny's life. Sucks. He's absolutely going to be the catch for Vince's XFL tho so we'll see if that doesn't get screwed up either
  21. Tyler Ennis might be my favorite player from the last decade for that reason. True floor general, dictated the pace of the game.
  22. Johnny "the voice of cautious reflection and sober reason" Football sent out a very helpful tweet to his fellow AAF colleagues: “If you’re an AAF player and the league does dissolve. The last check you got will be the last one that you get,” Manziel tweeted. “No lawsuit or anything else will get you your bread. Save your money and keep your head up. It’s the only choice at this point unless something drastic happens. “Just the reality of this unfortunate situation.. great concept, good football on the field and fun for fans to watch. Just not enough money to go around which has been the main problem with ‘other’ leagues for a long time.”
  23. I'm invoking the Peterman ruling as a 2 year handicap to Beane's ranking. Only Josh Allen becoming great will null that terrible terrible sequence of events. Otherwise I like him fine. I love his work dumpster diving in the secondary, just as I loved Whaley's dumpster diving in the front 7. That's really where I see a GM's ability. Landing a quarterback is obviously every GM's legacy, and it's so hard and sometimes random.. I like to weigh a GMs work on every position and dumpster diving for Poyers, Hydes, Fosters and (Whaley's) Hughes? Well if a GM does that maybe 10-15 times he's going to have a damned good team around his high draft picks.
