  1. Well I mean.. a negative Josh Allen post on here criticizing some minute problematic stat of his, or a bad story would get annihilated with JA supporters on this board. It goes both ways. And there's really not a new story to talk about here or anything.. I really don't mind people giving some variety on this board when we have 4 new threads gushing over Josh Allen about the same few things every week haha. The "compulsive need" probably comes from TSW gushing over JA with 4 posts a week fatigue honestly. Like I'll tell you my favorite JA moment, but I just didn't find the Anthony Barr hurdle all that impressive. Peterman stiff armed and just completely trucked a linebacker with one arm trying to tackle him like he was Marshawn Lynch in week 1 or 2. Quarterbacks making non quarterback plays are awesome.. but it happens with a lot of quarterbacks. That's just me. Same thing with the quarterback sneak JA broke for 30-40 yards. It was awesome but.. doesn't tell me he's the franchise. My favorite moment was the Dolphin's game ending, particularly the last throw to Charles Clay. Josh Allen did something there, a throw that I didn't even think was possible when I saw him not have time to step into it. It was amazing, told me all I need to know in one play. He has the poise in late game situations, makes the right decision, and has a howitzer for an arm. It was like Brett Favre's breakout game with the Bengals throwing a cannon throw to begin his famed career. Only with Josh Allen in a Bills uniform in 2019 And he was upset at the loss of course. But he handled it well. Absolutely no blame on Charles Clay. He was probably thinking to himself "dang, how could I have made my team better today" instead of (and this is what TSW was banging): "**** THAT LOSER CHARLES CLAY!!!"
  2. And one of the highest IQ quarterback reading defenses that's also deadly accurate. He IS athletic in terms of throwing the ball accurately. And he plays as if everybody else on the field is in slow motion. But yes, he has the heart, commitment and leadership. I'd wager without those, maybe he has like.. 2 Super Bowls. Without his accuracy and quarterback IQ he'd have zero rings and be... like Tim Tebow basically. Those intangibles are the difference between him being a maybe HOFer, to the GOAT. He had all the skill and vision to be great if he wasn't a great leader and ultra competitive. Ya gotta have both the intangibles and the tangibles to be the GOAT.
  3. End of the Dolphins game, particularly the last throw to Charles Clay. That was an amazing late game performance, capped off with a throw I didn't think was possible. I mean, Clay was that wide open because no reasonable defender thinks JA rolling left, defenders in his face, would even consider attempting that, without stepping into the throw almost leaning backwards seems like, and not losing his cool and making the perfect decision to have the whereabouts to find Clay wide open. It was awesome. Didn't really take much stock in hurdling Anthony Barr. It was cool, took guts, super athletic. willpower, putting it all on the line, leading by example yada yada yada, but it didn't tell me anything about how good of a quarterback he could be. I mean Peterman stiff armed the crap out of a linebacker week one or 2. Quarterbacks doing non-QB things are cool, but happen all the time. That game was bizarre start to finish, and pre-injury Allen never won me over. Post-injury JA was something else. Definitely the Dolphins end game. And the singular play is the throw to Clay. Felt like the Favre breakout game coming back vs the Bengals when he hit a 40 yard TD on a comeback drive making a throw with a howitzer no reasonable defender expected a quarterback to make. Except it was Josh Allen wearing a Bills jersey in 2019.
  4. I think our evaluation of how much our FA period improved the WR corps is very overblown. Really the best scenario to significantly improve is Foster taking the next step, who was already on the team. John Brown and Cole Beasley are at least talent we should have always had at bare minimum at WR instead of trotting out Jordan Matthews, Kelvin Benjamin, and rookie Zay Jones.. just horrible. yep I like this post. I agree, they made front loaded contracts exactly as I wanted to improve the teams with vets while we wait for our young better players to reach their re-signing period with a healthy flexible cap situation to get the retain the right guys. The vets are a great plug-in play to teach our young guys how to start winning until we evaluate their value compared to the Bills we drafted 2 years from now. Best thing is Bills are keeping themselves flexible.
  5. As far as "more purposefully and selectively", no I don't think so. Whaley definitely had a purpose. He overpaid for a division rival TE that was one of the best available on the market (supposedly).. but it was certainly purposeful. Roman really needed the rare TE that blocks and can be a (supposedly) good receiver as well. It was still a bad move in hindsight. Otherwise I though Whaley was superb in FA. I think this regime is good, probably better in FA, we'll see. I don't think Star was a great move, obviously Vontae Davis was no harm, no foul (lol), but Beane's been okay. No splash signings, a lot of really good dumpster diving. Whaley did the same for his part. Beane is a wizard at dumpster diving for secondary. Whaley for dumpster diving for front 7. They're both really strong in pro scouting to find low key players that become key players.. like LorAx. I don't know how much credit to give to Whaley for Poyer and Hyde but.. my favorite FA signings on this team. Fantastic move that turned a unit that seemed to be a glaring hole into a strength.. for a long time. I'm sure McDermott did most of the scouting/suggestions and Whaley agreed. They're both good pro personnel scouts, so that FA year was one of our best FA years I can remember. There's really no way to say this has been a glorious FA year for us until we see it in action.
  6. I don't like anti-meme sentiments. Its silly. He made a funny meme for Raiders fans. Not us. The outrage is getting embarrassing. Be anti-Brown for the other reasons you mentioned if you want. I don't care about a friggin meme. We weren't going to pay him what other teams would. He was never going to be a Bill with that offer.. never will be. So we're just hating on an NFL player not on the Bills. Like.. a LOT, there's plenty of players to express outrage about. It's a complete waste of energy lol.
  7. Yeppp New England's going to be fine at the skill positions. And they don't need to (and can't) replace one of the best TEs ever. They had great offenses before getting the 2TEs and should be fine after. All comes down to Brady's age affecting his play. Getting Sony Michel was great as I think they're really going to use him a lot next year. Preserve Brady for the 4th after 3 quarters of running it down the team's throat. They got worse certainly, but Brady's won a ton of games with Gronk out with injury. Doubt they go TE in the first. I'm guessing DB or front 7. ... It sucks! Act like your age Tom.
  8. Poised. He has great pocket presence always looking downfield. Better than many, let alone a rookie. And I'm all about letting JA running to force the defenses to keep a spy. He's young, he can handle some running hits at his age, and they really never look as dangerous for Josh as in the pocket. Run Josh.. run.
  9. Someone has to! Its worth haha.
  10. Onside kick is the "ugliest stupid looking spectacle in organized sport in which dice is played with human bodies" - Jon Boise, SBNation
  11. This has been proposed before. I forgot who. Like Greg Schiano or something. But I love the idea of a 4th and long play. Just turn it into normal football instead of some bizarre play. Onside kick is the "ugliest stupid looking spectacle in organized sport in which dice is played with human bodies" lol
  12. That escalated quickly
  13. Takes like.. 2 minutes to make these dude. And they're funny.
  14. I did! That land was pure unadulterated crap. Couldn't grow a potato on a rainy harvest season. Not to mention the seller was a fellow named Batavian Bart. Who didn't seem at all surprised in the sudden interests in his land and drove up the price astronomically. But I'm certain my inside tip is true and Bills will be playing in a Batavia cornfield. One of the easiest investments you can make. Plus I sell a few potatoes and corn every now and then. Dunkirk Don really did a solid for me. I totally fleeced Batavian Bob.
  15. Yeah I said before I don't think JA's terribly accurate but I don't really care so much as long as he's on the money when necessary. I think we all saw a ton of talent in JA to be excited. So provided he gets Ws we shouldn't be overly concerned over accuracy anyways. He's got enough things going for him and, of course, he's accurate enough.. people talk about him like he's Tim Tebow if he was that inaccurate it would have seriously limited his play last year. I'm fine with Cam Newton abilities and psyched if better.
  16. I don't not believe your numbers I just want to use a data set that comes somewhat close to what you have and be able to run it with more quarterbacks to see what the results mean.
  17. Out of curiosity I wanted to try this formula out with other quarterbacks. I've found slightly different data, and am still looking for more but I'm having a hard time matching your math when back testing. 1. Catchable pass data: I match all but Lamar and Rosen.. Lamar Jackson has 136/170 catchable passes, for 95.8%. Rosen has an absurd 86/265 catchable rounding out to 35.5%. I goal seeked to checked for typos but the %s don't match the data 2. Catchable pass data excludes uncatchable passes from Rosen, Watson, Mayfield, and Wentz. So with 0s I match your %s for all but Rosen. But they definitely don't have 0 uncatchable passes 3. I get 393 attempts for Rosen 4. Rosen, Watson, Mayfield, and Wentz are missing uncatchables, so their totals don't add up to pass attempts at all. I can assume the difference between adding up JA, Lamar, and Darnold's stats should add up to pass attempts considering interceptable passes and uncatchables as mutually inclusive.. but Lamar for example doesn't add up either. Darnold and Allen otherwise clearly show all interceptable passes are also counted as uncatchable which makes sense. That said uncatchables don't have an affect on the %s Otherwise I can get pretty close with my set of data. I just can't get close to throwaways for the life of me..
  18. probably a good indicator they shouldn't be locked eh Hard pass on Dez. It's incredible how fast and far he regressed. I don't see him panning out. But at the end of the day I find it hard to believe he doesn't find some place to land..
  19. That's fantastic. Best regards.
  20. oh yeah I really hoodwinked them
  21. Now that I understand the point of your question.. I said I never see deep completions on a rope like JA attempted to Robert Foster. I see balls with enough air where the WR can adjust. Like Allen's 60 yard completion to Zay in the Chargers game. So that's why I said deep balls with arc are good...... You understand when you're cryptically asking a string of questions with no explanation we're not exactly communicating effectively.
  22. Why do you want stats backing up that deep completions fall in a 100 square foot area? It was a stupid thing to say cause it's pretty obvious. So sorry. My answer about your question of why I said I want to see arc on deep balls after saying I'm fine with an example of Allen throwing a deep ball with arc was "idk what you're talking about". I said I never see throws like that that are on a rope and deep. I'm fine with the air Allen put on that deep ball, that's what I want to see. Touch. But I don't necessarily want my offense predicated on underthrowing a WR that's not open lol. I honestly just didn't understand where you were going there. You asked if I wanted to see throws like -insert random 60 yard Chargers pass- and I said sure: the air on the ball allowed for a completion. Not the best example but yes that's the touch I want to see.
  23. don't know what you're getting at. Zay didn't have his man beat and the ball was thrown behind him. Bills weren't exactly playing top football during week 2 eh? Check out the physics of a deep pass here.
  24. yes but running quarterbacks make up for sucking in Madden.
