  1. what are you asking?? I'm not going to define a coach's career by your logic that a whole coach's body of work goes out the window if he loses to Lamar Jackson's Ravens haha. Nagy lost to the Giants down the stretch! I get that Lamar Jackson's playoff Ravens team is the worst team in history for you.. it's not to me, they went 6-2 lol. Just throw us a bone and say he's overrated.. at least acknowledge the man is RATED, regarded highly by others but just not you. Because he lost to the Ravens, made adjustments, and later beat them in the playoffs. Your take is piping hot, you're not asking a question lol just have a take. And then we're doubling down to say Andy Reid didn't have a great year either haha. What are we doing here WEO. Where does McDermott rank to these guys losing to the Ravens.. I'd love if he goes 12-4 next year and unfortunately gets outcoached by the Ravens in the playoffs. Would be a superb season. But regular season wins don't matter.. just regular season losses to Lamar Jackson I guess.
  2. Caroll's not. It's definitely age and environment. But a coach treating and acknowledging him more like a college player that hadn't been able to mature yet is something I'd credit Caroll to do. Make dem boys into men like he did in USC. Of course Pete's boys were already pros getting compensated to play at USC amiright. I really liked Marshawn in the post Buffalo stage of his career. As others have said.. he comes off as very down to Earth, even to this day. He's a funny dude. You ever seen him on Conan's SB series playing Mortal Kombat? He gets reinvited now even not making the SB because he was a funny down to Earth dude.. great chemistry with Conan haha. Him vs Gronk at Mortal Kombat was hilarious. Looked like he never played a video game before and was pumped for it. Whereas party animal Gronk just came off as a stiff awkward meathead haha.
  3. That's the spirit. Keep that up and we'll [win]. Reminds me of when we beat Duke a while back with that senior transfer combo guard's (totally blanking on his name) wild game winning bank shot to win. Although I think that was regular season. Tyus is supposed to be out against Duke right? Real talk I'm with you, definitely let Battle get fully rested and healthy regardless. He's our wild card for any sort of run in the tourney
  4. Hm still a bit risky if we haven't seen him do it in action.. believe me I want to fall in love with a stud WR this draft. But idk here. I'm just gonna stay in blissful ignorance and trust Beane to get it right
  5. Hey.. my reverse jinxes work. It's tried and true. You saw the evidence live Now we're SURELY losing to Duke amiright
  6. Right.. obviously haha. I'm saying the answer's gotta be Kiko. Was talking about the posters talking about non Bills.
  7. I'd wager he looked exactly like Ted Ginn Jr then by that assessment. No thanks
  8. It's Kiko. OP is talking about former Bills (counting the 4 hour AB era in Buffalo). And anyone not saying Edelman for non Bills players has the wrong answer.
  9. That's a good one. I forgot why I used to hate him so much. That and the fits he threw punching Gilmore who was eating his lunch. My most hated is and will always be Edeldoosh I think OP is getting at former Bills (or almost Bills.. 4 hour Bills) tho. So in that case idk.. Kiko?
  10. Haha. I'm a fan I swear! I just don't have much faith in the team lol. I don't think I've seen them without Battle and we're SO dependent on him yes.. I shamefully thought we were heading to a blowout, even from the lowly Pitt, being down by so much late in the first half. We just have no gosh darn shooters! Anyways my shameless negativity is a very nice reverse jinx. I'm pretty sure that's what got us into those last 2 final 4 appearances as a 10 seed. Boy I was telling everybody Syracuse had no business in the tournament, in the round of 32, in the sweet 16, in the elite 8, by the final 4 I'm saying it's championship year.. and we lose haha.
  11. I think if you can find a middle ground between John Brown or Marvin Harrison as your best receiver hahaha. To win a Superbowl you need a great team, a ton of luck, unlikely heros, and many of your better players, including receiver, playing above their level. So maybe an Marvin Harrison was the last All-Pro receiver. But Santonio Holmes' catch to win it for the Steelers over the Cards was All-Pro caliber. Plaxico Burress's playoff run single handedly beat the Packers for the Giants, and was absolutely necessary to beat the Patriots the next week. We can have more of a WR by committee sure so long as John Brown has circus catches in him when we need it. Our #1 needs to be GOOD. And all the others (everybody on the team obviously) needs to show they can elevate their play when their number is called. DeAndre Hopkins is just more likely to do all these things. He'd be better in clutch situations and make things easier. He'd also take a ton of cap and leave us less talented elsewhere, necessitating his play to elevate that much more. There's no easy answer but I think you're making life much easier on yourself if you have a true #1 AND depth. You don't need the absolute top tier WR, but I don't think we want Brown.. just someone to bail us out when we need it. Or we just need a damned great team elsewhere like the 2000 Ravens or something. It's much tougher that way.. like having an average QB. It's more about where your money is IMO. If you have a cheap weak Quarterback strong WRs help. Great defense, great quarterback, not so much. The greatest show on turf had 2 all pro WRs and didn't need squat for defense.
  12. Rebuild strategy: fit needle ****s into square holes
  13. I feel the same way. A changing of the guard will make the NFL much less predictable. Should be fun to watch this play out. It's really just the glut of HOF QBs drafted in such a small window all aging and the league preparing to bounce them out with this new batch of QBs. Similar to all the mid 80s Quarterbacks that dominated the NFL their whole careers. Hopefully we'll have our own HOF QB amongst the new batch!
  14. Wow I wasn't aware ultra talented athletes had huge egos. Weird. I'm sure all the smart Browns fans wish they had less talent right now.
  15. Lynch after Buffalo actually became one of my favorite non Bills. He had a lot of maturing to do that's for sure. I'm sure Pete Carroll was a big reason for it.
  16. No Tyus Battle = automatic loss Shoulda just forfeited to Pitt EDIT: Wow talk about premature Buddy Boeheim went OFF in the second half. Chip off the old block.
  17. Sammy's grade was like one of the best they ever made for a WR. Better than AJ Green and equal to Julio's. I'd make that pick every time (I wouldn't trade up though) grades that high have always been a sure thing. He was like the one exception sorta being a bust with a grade that high haha. I'd still take that at 9 right now. I just don't think DK Metcalf is nearly in that ballpark amongst the scouts.
  18. Does that necessarily make it harder on the offensive line? Genuine question. Watching Bell run seems like the DL have to stay very disciplined and see where the gaps are growing.. looks like it has an element of pass blocking to it. I just watched a video analysis of his running style in a Steelers Bills game. He obviously hits the hole hard when he has it. But he had a lot of chunk yardage plays where he intentionally lets the protection break down while he pivots to a good spot to counter over aggressive defenders. Be interesting how his style works with a crap OL. He obviously benefits as much as anyone from a good push. But it'd be scary if he's more independent from weak OL play than most RBs.
  19. Seems like there's 100% chance a stud likely top 5 overall talent DT falls to 9.. and we haven't made any moves there in FA. I don't like to get too invested in the draft and DT's not the sexy pick but I'm all about beefing up the trenches. I'd be more excited about DK Metcalf but I don't really know anything about him. Kinda feel shades of Dolphins grabbing Ted Ginn Jr at 10 in a class where there was no other real clear top WR talent.
  20. Idk but winning with the Chargers and joining the ranks of Marty Schottenheimer apparently means bad coach haha. We're getting Skip Bayless'd right now. Accomplishments are bad in this world of reverse logic
  21. Oh okay voter lunacy and a 5-1 record down the stretch. I get it. He must suck. You're being ridiculous right now haha. Just playing contrarian and doubling down on it. I can respect that.
  22. He had the second most votes for CoTY Nagy earned the accolade with 24 votes. Anthony Lynn (10), Frank Reich (8), Andy Reid (5), Pete Carroll (2) and Sean Payton (1) also had votes.
  23. I don't want to be the 2015 Panthers and I don't want to be the Gronkless & Bradyless Patriots lol. Bring some concepts/personnel that worked that are applicable to our personnel.. Beasley is a great example, however Brady uses his slot can be replicated anywhere. But I don't want our guys fitting a round peg in a square hole. We can't get Kuechly.. we can't get Gronk. But we can get a guy on offense who's chemistry with Allen gives us the same redzone and move the chains ability Daboll was accustomed to in NE to control the clock with the rest of the team build. Basically I'm just saying I really hope we don't go for Hockenson just because we want a Gronk replica. He could be amazing but he will never be the exact same player as Gronk.. we can't build a team of clones to match personnel from other teams. They're all going to be different for better or worse and ya gotta adjust to that. Allen ain't Brady.
  24. Okay so you're just full on Skip Bayless-ing a thread about what you think of Lynn lol. It's not hard to characterize your comment. Has he not been a good coach last year such that his opinion on John Miller several years ago lends no credence? Beating Lamar Jackson in the playoffs last year makes him a poor coach.. I don't even care, John Miller sucks. I have no idea why there's a reason to start trashing Lynn lol. That's the Skip tactic. Going down the pick-games-to-fit-narratives rabbit hole we can discredit Belicheck as a coach for losing to the Marriota Titans last year. It makes no sense to diss a CoTY candidate.
