Great safeties can make an otherwise bad defense competent. If that makes any sense. Feels like great safeties can cover a lot of flaws in a complete crap defense.. but become more redundant in a stacked defense. Whereas elite pass rushers can be neutralized/game planned and have zero impact on a bad defense yet make a good defense great when they're not the only threat.

Add the Cheifs and basically yeah. Virtually every team improved provided their Quarterback wasn't a bust as of late. Texans as well. Bears, Eagles, Rams, Texans, Chiefs. I mean I don't disagree with you in that this regime should get it's whole contract I just wanted to jump in cause it's funny you're asking to name any team and it's pretty much every team the 2 Quarterback classes before JA that jumped in their QB's sophomore year. I don't think we're as good as those teams. Hence more time.. I agree. But the Bears i'd argue had about as much to work with and are looking pretty sharp. That's who I'd compare us to. Bears without a Kahlil Mack.. who I thought we'd presumably get a group of 1-3 marquee players to level up on aggregate equal to Bears + Mack with our cap this year.

that's the whole point of having our cap space right. We have the luxury to overpay on shorter contracts or just front loaded contracts so we're still in good position to re-sign our Milano / Tre White class. I don't see why we shouldn't overpay.. especially in this FA class when the Milano / Tre White contracts are only getting older.. now's the time to do it if ever.

Eagles, Packers, Colts.. All teams with passing attacks that need a running threat to be especially dangerous. And we say RBs are a dime a dozen.. they really aren't for a lot of teams. Ya gotta draft them well. Bills fans might feel that way after Travis Henry, Willis McGahee, Marshawn Lynch, FredEx, Spiller, McCoy, Karlos, Gillislee. We've just invested a crapload of draft picks at the position lol. Packers just don't.

I think Shady can bounce back too. He's getting a little too much flak for an offense that couldn't run with anybody carrying the ball. I also would like him splitting snaps in a 50/50 role or even less, but I'm not hung up on going out of our way to find that other guy that would get more carries. Go after OL and take a late round flyer RB or just get a backup FA or trade RB that's not friggin Chris Ivory old.
