  1. Tyrod Taylor for a 3rd is pretty easily Beane's best trade. His worst is a 3rd+7th for Kelvin Benjamin. The rest of his trades are more or less fair for the Bills and the team we traded with.
  2. Murphy was OK when healthy (he was injured a lot and has quite the history). Given that we have an out in his contract I think there's a real chance we could cut him.
  3. If we're going to play the hindsight game, we should've just drafted Mack in 2014 instead of Sammy...
  4. The refs in that game were letting both secondaries get away with quite a lot of contact w/o calling a penalty. They didn't have the stones to make a call on NRC that was going to determine the outcome of the game after having "let them play" the entire game.
  5. Peters situation was complicated. The Bills took him in as an undrafted tight end and helped him become a solid RT. After 1 year as a starter we gave him a pretty decent 5 year contract for a RT. Halfway through the first year of that contract the Bills move him from RT to LT. Peters excelled as a LT for that half season, and for the entire next season. The offseason after his 2nd year of his contract is when he started holding out. I can see where Peters was coming from. LT's get paid more than RT's, and he was an elite LT getting paid average RT money. From the Bills perspective, this was an UDFA that we took a chance on and helped develop, and signed him to a fair contract (at the time). Perhaps the Bills were willing to re-negotiate but Peters demands were outlandish. Perhaps the Bills drew a line in the sand and said they would not re-negotiate under any circumstance. After sitting out the entire offseason (and getting fined a decent chunk of $$) Peters reported and started in week 1 of that season. IMO he was out of shape and his play was abysmal the first half of the season. He played better, but not great in the second half. He led the league in sacks allowed that year (not an official stat recognized by the NFL). He was also selected to the Pro Bowl and 2nd team all pro. After that season the Bills traded him to the Eagles for a 1st, 4th, and 6th rd pick. On one hand, we traded away a (likely) HOF player in the prime of his career. On the other, we turned a UDFA into a 1st, 4th, and 6th rd pick after an ugly contract dispute (with both sides sharing blame).
  6. I wish that was true. One of my biggest pet peeves are the guys that wear shirts 2 sizes too small (Zeke and Alonso the 2 that stick out the most).
  7. Breaking news: Zeke Elliott fined $34,231 due to wearing tiny shirts
  8. I have to wonder if this article was written by Star's agent? Look at play #4 Two things jump out on this play. The first is noted in the GIF. The Patriots have seemingly planned specifically for Lotulelei. The hand-off pushing out to the side a little with the blocker making a beeline right for Star is suspicious after the linemen let him through. The second thing to notice is how quickly Lotulelei reacts to the hand-off. He’s initially looking to hit Brady, but is starting to change immediately. What jumped out to me was Star getting dominated 1 on 1 by a fullback and the Patriots running it 12 yards straight at him. Star is a pretty bad contract any way you slice it. Generally speaking you have to overpay to get a UFA signing, but Star never should've been paid over 8 mil AAV. Snacks Harrison makes less than Star and he's actually a really good run stuffing DT. Star is a rotational space eater that doesn't make much of an impact. I want more from the highest paid player on the team.
  9. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/antonio-brown-steelers-wide-receiver-accused-nearly-hitting-toddler-furniture-thrown-from-balcony-2018-10-09/ AB said someone else threw the furniture. I can't find a better article on the status of the lawsuit. Settled out of court perhaps?
  10. There were a lot of red flags this season with McBeane 1) Multiple blowout losses 2) QB situation in general, and Nathan Peterman in particular. It still blows my mind that we went into week 1 with Nathan Peterman as our starter and Allen the only other QB on the roster. No excuse for that. 3) Cap usage. The salary cap hell we are in is mostly McBeane's fault. 4) Mediocre/bad FA signings and trades (kelvin benjamin) That being said, a 6-10 finish is about the best you could've hoped for with this roster. Next season is the make or break year IMO.
  11. 9 - Crossman - Last game of the season, last time to call for his job. When your coach doesn't know his kicker is too injured to make a 45 yard field goal, there's a problem. We still have Hyde fair catching punts. The unit is just a mess and I hope McDermott does what's necessary Punting sucked too. Darr had a couple of ~30 yard punts with poor hangtime. How is that even possible for an NFL punter?
  12. During the first game against the Patriots this year I was furious about Edelman calling for a fair catch and then launching at our gunner's head. I thought that was a very easy penalty call, and I was happy when he was fined for that. In this most recent game I was watching for any dirty plays. And, to be honest, I didn't see any. There was 1 play where he called for a fair catch and then blocked our gunner, but he didn't target the head or put much force into it. I didn't think that deserved a penalty, let alone a fine. I have to say I'm happy to see the league targeting Edelman. They must've had a conversation with him and told him to knock it off (and he hasn't gotten the message).
  13. I wouldn't call a fine for 1/16th of the guys salary a slap on the wrist. That 9k fine means a lot more to the ref than the 53k fine does to Hughes.
  14. QB A Completion 61.8% for 3,139 yards 15 TD 10 INTs QB B Completion 71.3% for 3,490 yards 23 TD 9 INTs One of these QBs is clearly better, and it's not Keenum...
  15. It's a minor miracle he didn't cost us the snow game last year vs the Colts. 4th and 1 from the Colts 41 with 4 minutes left in OT and you punt??!!?? When a tie essentially eliminates us from playoff contention.
  16. Jarvis Landry on Aaron Williams? Anyway, this was a very chippy game. Perhaps Dawkins chop block on the 1st offensive snap set the tone. Perhaps the Jets were really fired up after getting embarrassed at home the last time we played them.
  17. It's not hyperbole when we say the Bills have the worst WR corps in the league. Watching prime time games there's almost always at least a couple plays where I'm thinking "Wow, that was a bad pass, but the WR made a great catch. That never happens on the Bills".
  18. Special teams was a disaster (minus recovering the fumble by Jets). Offense was fine. 23 points on 368 yards and 34 minutes TOP is fine. 3 turnovers isn't good. Defense was mostly great. Of course, they crumbled in the clutch and gave up very untimely TDs. If our ST unit was just a bit below average, as opposed to a disaster, we win this game pretty easy. Jets wouldn't have been close enough to make a difference.
  19. We only saved 2 mil against the cap by trading Dareus. Most of his contract turned into dead cap after the trade. There was an out in his contract after this season. Given that we barely save against the cap by trading him, I would've rather kept him around.
  20. Don't forget the atrocious challenge in the first half! Or in the 2nd half taking a timeout after the TD to get the 2 pt conversion call in!
  21. It's pretty easy to forgive JA for a bad pass when he was scrambling like a madman and throwing across the field. Worse passes than that are routinely caught around the NFL. Watch some other games and see the types of catches other teams make. This 100% should've been caught by Clay.
