To me Super Bowl or bust would only apply in extreme circumstances. It would have to be a combination of the teams window closing (aging QB, bad contracts, aging coach, trading draft picks) and high expectations (think '07 Patriots). Doesn't apply to the Bills unless we're extrapolating expectations from that beat down against the Patriots and ignoring the regular season.

Does the Athletic not grade punters ? Haack deserved a straight F and didn't even make their bottom 5. Even if you want to curve his grade based on the conditions he still deserved a bottom 5 grade.

I saw some people on Reddit throwing around the "elite holder" comment and I have to flat out disagree. The baseline expectation for a place holder is to make it through the year with no fumbled snaps or issues facing the laces. That's AVERAGE. There's no such thing as an "elite" place holder. I think the issue is we went from Bojorquez, by far the worst holder in the league, to Haack. People only think Haack is elite at holding because Bojo was so terrible at it. 700k deadcap if we cut Haack after this season. I'd be surprised if we don't have a different punter come week 1 2022.

Daboll has the bad habit of calling way too many passing plays in high winds, and abandoning the run when it's actually working. We had 20 straight passing plays (18 pass attempts, 2 JA scrambles)! In a game where the wind was having an obvious effect on QBs and punters. Very reminiscent of the Ravens playoff game.

Dolphins have gone 19-14 over the last 2 seasons with a combination of Fitz/Tua/Brisket at QB. I think Flores had them overperform their talent level and I'm surprised they fired him.

0% interest from me. Singletary is fine as our RB1. Obviously we are a pass first team but he can produce when given the ball. Still 1 more year left on his rookie contract. Moss has struggled this year but does have 2 years left on his rookie contract. If we're ready to give up on Moss as RB2 we should just spend another mid round pick on a new RB. There's no point in going after a guy like Penny unless he's willing to sign for league minimum.

Jackson and Mayfield both had their 5th year options picked up for the 22-23 season, and could be franchise tagged for 23-24. Neither guy is going anywhere this offseason. My thoughts on contract extensions.... Mayfield - no chance he's extended before playing out his 5th year option. Through his first 4 seasons the best he's played is at a Ryan Tannehill level - a competent game manager that can succeed on a strong team. His biggest issue is that his 4th year has been his worst season. I can't see how the Browns can extend him when he has a low ceiling and is on a negative trajectory. Jackson - small chance he's extended before playing out his 5th year option. He is an exceptional athlete and fully deserved his MVP award (the 2021 pro bowl is another story). His biggest issue is, as a pure passing QB, he's pretty bad. Jackson has had almost no success against quality teams (the playoff record and stats speak for themselves). As a Ravens fan I'd be concerned that the team looks pretty much the same with Tyler Huntley (who?) at QB. Ultimately I think Jackson signs a massive contract in Baltimore.....with very little $$ guaranteed and that gives the team multiple outs. I think Baker ends up walking away from Cleveland and bouncing around the league as an overpaid average-ish starter.
