The pregame with the crazy fans, seeing Berman interviewing Kelly, Thomas, then Bruce on the show, it was just awesome. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Bills Fans in the Dumps
Jerome007 replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Count me in as well, at 95%. I don't consider this a moral victory. Because of the end. Edmund lost, Anderson lost, the TD turning into a pick-6. The Bills had a chance, a small one, but they had one. Which in a way it is positive as contrary to doomsday scenarios, the difference between winning and losing are a few things here and there. Imagine just one better OLineman and 2 good WRs from free agency (they have the cap space next year!) and draft picks, some better player chemistry, some better playcalling, and boom, the Bills can be a winning team. Those that want to pout, recall they made the playoffs last year and now look like bottom feeders. And many teams have had quick turn arounds - and sometimes up and down like the Raiders. Problem is the good players like Shady, Ivory, Kyle, Lorax could be gone... As for the original post, I have noticed that too. As for me, first time I have lost so much of my fire. Not with apathy but simply accepting the losses this year. Writing this as a season to prepare the future - with Allen and maybe Edmund not even playing grrrrrr. I imagine how hard it can for the vets not to feel the same thing and for the coaches to maintain morale. -
Not that I was surprised I'm any shape or form, but I hate the losing attitude. The Bills were in it til the 4th quarter and could have pulled it off. Offense not only didn't score a TD but had one scored against them. Defense was awesome and special teams pretty good (Hauska being money, as usual). Milano and Kyle and all the secondary played so well. Offense... ouch. Ivory looked good though and I did like all the creativity in the first drives. It'll take a lot more of that for the Bears. As for fighting another fan, yep, get a grip. Though we all have seen real obnoxious people in need of an ass kicking.

Some of you are incurable LOL Like if other teams were all so much better. The Bills were average for the most part. Only this year have they become doormats. Anyway, one of my points is that designed plays that can be practiced even by the least talented teams should be seen. KC is loaded to the core so of course you can't replicate their versatility and complexity. Cheatriots have Brady but I watched their opening drive and 95% of the success was all scheme and basic execution. As the game goes on of course talent takes over by a wide margin. But good coaching should help have some initial success, and then help get some ryhtmn and be tailored to your players' strengths and weaknesses. It seems a crap shoot to me so far, as if Daboll relies on luck, and can't really analyze tendencies and his own players. Roman designed great plays but was bad at calling them during games. His obsession at supposedly adjusting to the other teams' strengths meant the Bills O had no identity. It's called outsmarting yourself. With Daboll I see little logic though in his defense he discovers Allen and the team's identity as they go along.

Do you guys watch other games on the regular? I used to, now I will catch a few pieces here and there. Still, it's good to have comparisons and an outside perspective. First. very few teams, if any in fact, are complete. All have some glaring weaknesses on offense and/or defense. Good OLines are rare but damn do they make a difference. And if we analyzed their draft picks and trades, all of them have failures. It's like when we watch other teams we mostly notice the obvious and mainly their good things, while we overanalyze the Bills and all their mistakes. That out of the way, it's quite obvious that the play selection on offense here is too basic. Forget the limited talent. Watch some opening drives by other teams: the reverses, quick passes to the slant, misdirections, play actions, etc. could ALL be done by the Bills. The long pass plays are rare for the most part but they have some - while for some reason Allen didn't have some in his last games. Because of playcalling, 1-3 times a game a receiver is wide open. And you know what, it happened here too before. You think O'Reilly got so open because of his speed? Daboll really to up his game! He calls way too basic plays. Talent is limited but not THAT limited! Anything you guys notice? Again the goal is not to vomit all over the Bills staff as typical here and as if other teams didn't make also many bonehead moves. But just to discuss what could be so much better quickly with the current roster.

He's 35. People talk he's some old timer taken out of some retirement home But yeah, he probably wasn't in "football season" shape and been thrown into the fire

People B word and complain for so many things... but this one is spot on. A few big checks to Carlson Palmer to convince him to come for a few 2 week stints here & there would pay big dividends. Let's face it: McD's tenure rises or falls with Allen's success. You'd expect more urgency and awareness!

Gronk is a Cheatriots but I used to find him funny and obviously talented. But that dangerous cheap shot that only got one game leaves everyone wanting revenge.

Did McCoy Quit or Did the Bills Shelve Him?
Jerome007 replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ridiculous also since if the Bills would want to trade him, concussion is not exactly making his stock rise! -
How come is cap hit is lower then his salary+bonus? Isn't this just a one year contract? But you know, at over 750K for a few months I would arrange for my family to come over unless the kids' schooling prevent it. Just rent something fairly cheap - no need to sell his house and move. Per NFL standards he's paid peanuts. For real life? 750K ain't bad at all!

Is following the Bills a fun pastime for you?
Jerome007 replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was fun... until this last week. The Losman period wasn't fun either. If Shady is traded and Josh barely plays I kind of feel of waiting out till next year! First time it's happened. Best preseason (well games 1-3) was this year though. -
Media trying to get McDermott fired.
Jerome007 replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I was, was, of the opinion McD and Beane should get 3 years so we see what they do with the 2019 huge cap space and long draft pick list, this 7th blowout in 24 games should put him on the hot seat. Not fired, but certainly feeling the heat. If he keeps control of the locker room and players keep competing hard, fine. If they go belly up from this point on, he has a good chance to follow. -
I don't get why people on here are seeing such disrespect from Brady. I of course want the Bills D to plant him in the dirt and that his afternoon feels miserable but he was just giving a shout out to us Bills fans. To see disrespect there is really pushing it. You prefer opponents just ignore us? It's all part of the fun & games... when there is fun to be had. Remember the 2nd Rex game, first against the Pats, which was at home? We fans were all so pumped up. This time it's doom''gloom galore. And I'm one of them fed up. I'm just starting to get back some fighting spirit. The blowout plus Allen and Shady out (even it McCoy is not ruled out yet) made me real blaaaaahh.
-
How sad this can be? Here is a MNF in Buffalo, and everyone is depressed and has given up - me too BTW for the first time in years. I hope the players take upon themselves to shine. A Win against the damn Patriots would still be sweet. Without Josh and most likely Shady, damn this has lost of its allure

I was one of the patient fans. And since the dead cap space is horrible now, but it will flip next year, plus the draft picks, I was on the camp of let them prove themselves. But this 7th blowout in 24 games under McD is a firable offense - at the very least he should really feel some heat now. Like he's lost his immunity he got from taking the team to the playoffs last year and being a new coach. And while I did agree with getting rid of Dareus, paying the same amount of money for an average player like Star doesn't fill me with confidence they'll pay the right FA next year. The QB handling, from choosing & shipping out McCarron, sticking with Peterman, no mentor or coach for Allen before Anderson, etc. Many huge mistakes. BUT, all that said, if the team keeps fighting he deserves to make it to next year. If the players quit on him, and they did last game, then sorry, but it should be over for McD. Next games will decide IMO. Or should anyway. With this yet another blowout, Shady injured, Allen injured, now this serious talk of McD getting fired, this season has really gone to hell unless a cure is magically found. Getting blown out and quitting are not acceptable.

The number of blowout losses under McBean is astounding
Jerome007 replied to saundena's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The blowouts are REALLY concerning. But as for "losing the locker room", while it might sure happen, so far the Bills have bounced back time and time again under McD. -
Who to start against NE?
Jerome007 replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And hopefully Josh is back to play his first MNF -
Because they have slightly more picks than the other teams, but mostly, the most cap space by far - AT LAST! So they can hire good FA. As it stands now, the Bills roster is the least paid one in the NFL because of all the dead cap space. So IF, and that's the big IF, they make some good decisions, they are set up favorably for improvement in the league. It doesn't mean it will happen but yes they have the best odds league-wise. Like most GMs and brass, they will make blunders, some bad decisions, overpay a few players, but odds are they should also make some amazing decisions. Now their hands are tied.

McDermott's Judgement on offense is impaired.
Jerome007 replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WR corp is one of the very worse in the league. OLine is not as bad as people say IMO but still below average. A rookie QB and a pick-6 throwing one, now adding a rusty average at best vet. Fine. But what do I expect to see? Creativity, misdirections, two back sets, more use of these backs though not always down the middle, more use of the TE, etc. I expect a LOT more scheme wise and play calling than what we've seen, even accounting for all the obvious talent limitations on offense. -
Yes! I was shocked he could have missed all of this season AND THE NEXT with the operation! WTH kind of horror is that? The sooner he's back the better And yes, words can be cheap, but again he says all the right things. It shows he has a very good mindset and mental toughness. Those are very good traist to have obviously. But even more so as a NFL QB.
