  1. A big part of it was the game script. The Bills invite the run because they know that eventually the opposing offense will have to abandon the run and pass the ball to keep up with Josh Allen and the Bills offense, making them play into our atrengths and keeping them one dimensional. That works a majority of the time. But the offense stalled early and the Rams got up by multiple scores (including a special teams TD). That allowed them to continue to run as much as they want, and then rely on a talented QB to make throws to two talented receivers when necessary. It was the perfect storm, but you would also like to see the defense be more nimble. But, the defensive line just continues to suck for some reason. They disappear in every big game, it seems. We need to just move on from all of them over the next couple of years and reset it with new players. Oliver is too small and streaky. Rousseau disappears at times and never gets to the QB with any consistency. Jones is old and ineffective now. Miller is old and not what he used to be. Epenesa is a depth player. Blow the line up, I say. Bring in some free agents and draft picks so we aren't seeing the same thing every year.
  2. The main storyline of the game is not that the Bills lost or the Rams won, it is that Josh Allen is a freak of nature and did incredible things in that game. That is pretty impressive. Usually, the losing team, regardless of the individual efforts, is barely talked about.
  3. They'd be calling for that coach's head as well. For sure.
  4. I've always said that there may be a time when we move on from McDermott. It might even be the right move. He will go somewhere else and turn that franchise around and turn them into a contender as well. But I wouldn't do it unless we have a couple of poor seasons (missing the playoffs) or if it is clear that he has lost the locker room and confidence of Josh Allen and other team leaders.
  5. Dude. Read my posts. That is exactly what I said. He is just as much a factor in the negative things as the positive. And the MIA defensive line, particularly Oliver, who has been mostly invisible all season. It isn't the same as 13 seconds at all. We had the lead in that game with 13 seconds left. We were down by two scores with one minute left in this game, an almost impossible situation to claw out of.
  6. When Ingram played before he was coming in as a third safety. He wasn't playing boundary corner. Ingram never got the nod over Elam as a boundary corner. Yesterday, injury pushed him into that role.
  7. It's the reason most fans are angry about it. If Tom Brady didn't say anything about it, most fans would have remained unaware. They'd still be calling for McDermott's head, though. That is the nature of Bills losses.
  8. I answered already. Any positive thing that happened, the head coach shares credit. He created everything. He empowers the other coaches to do their jobs. He created the environment for Josh Allen to flourish. He readies the players to play each week. He provides leadership and motivation. He does all the head coach things that lead to success week in and week out.
  9. Those are players. Of course you can point to the specifics of what they did right. They are on the field. It is ALWAYS much easier to evaluate players than coaches because you can see the execution.
  10. He had a hand in everything that went right and a hand in everything that went wrong. He is the head coach.
  11. The defensive performance and allowing 44 points is certainly something the coaches should be criticized for. I'm with you on that. The end of the game sequences, when the game was basically already lost unless a miracle happened, is what is being overreacted to. That's what this thread is about.
  12. Anything good the team does is attributed to anyone but McDermott. Anything bad is automatically heaped on McDermott's shoulders.
  13. It wasn't that bad. Fans are overreacting big time. But what else is new? Every win and fans are chanting "Super Bowl!" and every loss the fans are chanting "Fire McDermott!"
  14. I don't think Bosa was actually Offside.
  15. Exactly. We were already in almost guaranteed loss territory by then. Down two scores with 1 minute left. Everything had to go perfectly. And it didn't. Shocker.
  16. He started blocking while the ball was in the air for sure. But his block was a bear hug, with his arms around the backside of the defender. Isn't that illegal even if he had waited till the ball was caught?
  17. He still makes clock management mistakes. Most coaches do. It is a lot harder to make those decisions in the split seconds they need to than many realize. Fans are always nitpicking well after these things happen.
  18. On that last TD to Nacua, they set a pick play to get him open and the other receiver just bear hugged the defender to set a pick. Is that allowed?
  19. They couldn't stop Nacua and they couldn't get pressure on Stafford. That is the reason the Bills lost. It was already a slim chance at the end that the Bills could win. It was a two score game with a minute left. Whatever you feel about the clock management, the bulk of the blame should be on the defense and containing Nacua. Great game by Josh Allen. It was a very entertaining game. The Rams wanted it more and needed it more, I suppose. Kudos to them.
  20. No, he doesn't, actually. He doesn't have that many goal line TDs.
  21. A couple of Josh Allen's best games are from his rookie season. Nobody was paying attention enough before 2020 to realize that Josh came into the league with all of the tools to be great. He just had to develop them.
  22. I don't get how they are related, though. Do the players get more injured if they try hard? Are injuries preventable by not trying your hardest to get the 1 seed? This regime doesn't rush players back ever, so that's not going to happen regardless.
