  1. I sure hope he puts up those numbers. I had to start him over Kelce on my fantasy team because Kelce was out.
  2. Bills 24 Jets 19 Jets score a TD near the end to make it look closer.
  3. Yeah, I was scratching my head on both of those. Bad decisions. You can't afford too many of those when facing Mahomes and the Chiefs. Guess it worked out, though.
  4. Well, he was a bit ambiguous. He said there wasn't anything, but if there was they worked it out. So, it is tough to tell of he is just trying to say what the media wants and put the matter to bed, or if something did actually happen. He seems annoyed about the questioning, honestly. Regardless, it seems evident that everything is fine now.
  5. The New Jersey thing just makes sense. They are literally leaving New York and traveling to New Jersey for the game. I feel like as a player it would be weird to say they were going to New York when your actual itinerary is New Jersey. Right? I don't think he meant anything by it except that is their travel destination.
  6. It does require a shift in perspective and self identity, for sure, and that would probably be even more pronounced for a former pro athlete. I'm sure a big part of his identity is rooted in his athleticism and physical strength. But people can make that shift and find happiness even in the face of tremendous physical adversity, and part of that comes from the realization that you are more than your physical body and physical abilities. You have value in many other areas. Christopher Reeve is a good example. He accomplished a lot after his accident and even continued acting.
  7. The players get 48% of revenue. So, about half of revenue goes to the owners who pay employees, maintain stadiums and other facilities, pay utilities, and all the other costs associated with running a business, including paying pensions and healthcare for retired players. So, it isn't like they are just taking half the money and just using it on themselves. And this is all collectively bargained. If the players association wants a larger cut, they have to bargain for it. I personally think it is fine the way it is. Players are making boat loads of money. Owners are too. Since the players get a percentage of revenue, both parties have incentive to see revenue grow, and contracts are ballooning because revenue has been ballooning. The highest paid player 10 years ago was making $20 million a year. Now it is $55 million per year. Almost tripled in a decade!
  8. Whelp, it is a lot harder to win when Kelce isn't running free and open all night long. Kelce is seriously one of the best of all time. You know they would have won if they had him.
  9. Their RT is breaking the rules all night long. So ridiculous.
  10. Kelce doesn't have a lot left, I don't think. He was really dragging at the end of last year. You could see he was feeling it in his body language.
  11. They're getting pressure. That's what they need.
  12. Even his interceptions are jaw dropping!
  13. MJS

    MVP?

Whoever wins a lot of games and puts up the best stats.
  14. There is usually a correlation between the two, but I'd say it is pretty common to refer to both when discussing the success of a defense. Those are the two most common, and then people often discuss turnovers, sacks, red zone percentages, etc. They all tell a piece of the story.
  15. Letting his body go at age 71... Anyway, he has basically always looked something like he does now. Maybe back in his coordinator days he was more fit, but for the past 15 to 20 years this has been his physique.
  16. You are taking this way too seriously. People are just joking around about it.
  17. Well, I disagree. All stats have meaning and all of them work together to paint a picture of a player, a team, etc. Yeah, you don't want to take one stat and make it mean more than it does. But when you take a bunch of stats together and they are all pointing to the same thing (that a player is good, bad, or anything in between), clearly they all have meaning. And that includes QB wins and superbowls. This doesn't mean anything for any other position, but it does for QB's, because they actually have a real impact on wins and losses. It is a team sport, but the QB is by far the most important position and the most impactful to wins and losses.
  18. Well, he kind of forced his son in that one video, and it came across as pretty creepy, in my opinion.
  19. It's not. You've never seen this? Tom also kisses his son on the lips.
  20. It wasn't even that long ago that $20 million a year was good QB money. Things have ballooned really quickly over the last decade. Peyton Manning was the highest paid QB in the NFL in 2010 and was making $19 million a season. We're more than double that now.
  21. Well the difference is your team would suck but Beane's is a top 3 to 5 team in the entire NFL and continually wins playoff games every year. Which GM's continually draft All Pros? Can you name them?
