It's really funny how much hate he got for the best WR in the game of football making an acrobatic, insane catch on him when he was in tight coverage. Fans can be fickle.

Woody Johnson suggested benching Rodgers in September
MJS replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think, like this, those things are all just rumors and assumptions. Who knows if any of this is actually true? There is a lot of speculation being thrown around. Rex got too lazy and too married to his scheme, which the rest of the league caught up to. I seriously doubt his ability to be a head coach any more, and his ability to be flexible enough to change things as the league evolves. His time with Buffalo really showed that. He clearly did not work hard here. -
turns out America likes watching Allen-Mahomes games
MJS replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree that they are the best right now. But I don't think they have risen to Manning vs Brady levels yet. Yeah, I agree that Manning had to win a superbowl for the matchup to really rise to the level that it did. Just like I think Allen has to do the same thing. -

Man, 90s football was amazing. And the 2000s era was great as well. I don't think the current era is as good, but at least we have Allen and Mahomes. They will go down as all time greats. I think there are a lot more good QBs today, but fewer of those slam dunk great QBs. -

Because I think Brady vs Manning had more mystique and draw at the time than Allen vs Mahomes currently does. Allen still has a lot of doubters. If he wins a superbowl, there will be no more doubters and the Allen vs Mahomes games will have risen to the same level as Brady vs Manning. From a national perspective. That's my opinion. -
Why is McD not being talked about as coach of the year?
MJS replied to Antonio's topic in The Stadium Wall
He should have won it in 2017, taking that bad roster to the playoffs and breaking the longest active playoff drought streak in pro sports at the time. He should have won it again in 2020. He should win it again this year, because everyone nationally was down on the Bills and believed they would be taking a step back and not even winning the division. But he won't. Again. Because that award never goes to the best teams. It just goes to the teams who everyone thought would suck, who do better than expectations. -

They decide coach of the year before the Superbowl, don't they? I thought it was decided before the playoffs like all of the other awards. -

I don't think Allen vs Mahomes has quite risen to the level of Brady vs Manning, but it is certainly on the way. If Allen wins a superbowl, it will get there for sure. But for the current NFL, Allen vs Mahomes is the best matchup to watch and it isn't even close. And after last week, it got even bigger. That was a darn good game to watch. If they face each other again in the playoffs this year, that game will break all the records. -
Those hoodlums probably deserved it!

I think 20 years from now a lot of fans will be looking back with fondness on this team, including McDermott and Beane. McDermott gets just WAY too much criticism. He is a really good coach. Most of the time fans are just throwing out vitriol his way without even understanding what they are watching or the nature of NFL football. Like the idiotic claims that he is conservative when he has shown time and time again that he is aggressive and follows the analytics as close as any coach in the NFL.

Patricia and Belichick Talk Empty Set + Chiefs/Bills, Ravens/Steelers
MJS replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is a 0% chance a 24 year old girl would be with 72 year old Belichick if he wasn't rich and famous. No chance whatsoever. -
He looks so sad in this photo. Poor guy.

I think his riches make him a lot more interesting for her. -
McDermott is a pretty accomplished defensive coach and playcaller. He isn't just a culture or leadership guy. Many players, coaches, and analysts have talked about how innovative and difficult to read his defense is. The way he disguises things is unmatched.

Sometimes games get away from you. It's just the nature of football. It doesn't usually happen to the Bills because they are really good and really well coached.
-
The Lions aren't being talked about? I've been hearing they are the best team in the league for a few weeks now. Nationally they are being talked about, but perhaps Bills fans aren't because NFC teams aren't usually the focus.

You know, kickers are weird. Half of their ability is mental. Getting traded and going to a new environment is exactly the type of thing that might get a kicker into a mental spiral and cause a decline. New city, new teammates, new coaches, and a new holder. That seems like a recipe for kicking problems.

Well, it was a big win because it was a conference game and it helps the Bills with seeding. Plus, the Chiefs are a good team and when you beat good teams, that shows you what you are made of. So, yes, it was a great regular season win. But that only matters if we can get it done and beat them in the playoffs. I'll just dunk on them twice in the playoffs when we beat them.
-
Well, it matters if we beat them in the playoffs. I'm not dunking on them until that happens. We beat them and it was a great win, but the playoffs are what matter most.
-
Wow. Actual replays. I thought those had been banned from football.

I hope someone rips off that necklace Diggs is wearing.

They are forcing him to do the "Here we go!" part of Dak's cadence? That is weird.
