If you have the right QB, there is always a chance. It has taken us more than two decades to find the right guy. This playoff loss hurt, but it is not the end of the road at all. A Superbowl is coming. Allen is too good to not win one. The Bills will find a way. Allen will find a way.

Josh Allen is a future HOFer. There I said it...
MJS replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
To solidify it he needs to go win a Superbowl, but he certainly has Hall of Fame talent. As a QB, you need championships and/or cumulative stats to get in these days. That means he needs to play at a high level for at least 15 years, or get a couple Superbowl wins. The extra game each season will help with the cumulative stats, though. -
We'll probably lose Sanders, and possibly Beasley. Who knows with McKenzie? I think the Bills need to keep the funnel stocked with young talent at wide receiver, so I'm all for drafting one or two, even high. I agree about Davis, though. He is a baller and he needs to get the majority of the snaps as the #2 receiver. Plus, Josh clearly trusts him. As for the Superbowl with the Chiefs last year, their oline was kind of in shambles. They rebuilt it into a really good unit, something I did not expect them to be able to do in one off-season. But yeah, we need an elite pass rusher. We just do. And as much as I think Edmunds gets blamed too much for things, having an elite MLB would be so huge for this defense. I'm all for moving on from him. If we had our Luke Kuechly for our defense, it would make a world of difference.

And I'd argue that the other two teams still left, the Bengals and the 49ers, did not. The Bills are just as good, if not better, than the Rams, and we just went toe-to-toe with the Chiefs and lost in overtime mainly due to poor decisions on defense. I'm fine trying to make a trade for an impact player. I don't want to go out and way overspend on free agents, though. The Chiefs traded for Ingram but they didn't give up much for him. We need guys like that. Low risk, high upside trades. Find guys who aren't working out on their teams for whatever reason, but have elite traits. I do think the Bills need to make moves, but they still need to be wise in how they use the salary cap and draft assets. Heck, if we want to trade our 1st rounder for a young, proven stud with a decent contract (like we did for Diggs) I'm totally fine with that. I want the Bills to be competitive with Allen for the next 15 years, not have a two year window that is Superbowl or bust.

There are always areas to improve and part of what makes elite QB's elite is their mindset of continual growth and progression. Peyton Manning got to the point of knowing defenses so well that he could get the offense into the right play almost every time. Allen is not there yet with dissecting defenses. He could improve there. He also needs to work on being a bit more consistent and erasing those low games. If he can keep getting better he will eventually be completely unstoppable.

I guess he should work on defense. He could play both sides and truly will this team to victory. With his size he could probably rush the passer or play linebacker...

The myth that the Bills roster is better than the Chiefs
MJS replied to Hermes's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes. They got plenty of pressure but let him break contain. I think Addison and Hughes were too aggressive rushing up field, leaving lanes for him to escape. But they did get pressure, and often they got hands on him. Pretty frustrating. -
I am against this "go all in" mentality, personally.

The myth that the Bills roster is better than the Chiefs
MJS replied to Hermes's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd put it like this: QB- KC (but very close) RB- Push WR- Push (but Bills have more depth) TE- KC OL- KC DL- KC LB- KC CB- Bills S- Bills And of course Coaching, which KC has the advantage on. If anyone thought the Bills were decidedly better than KC, they were just overconfident and maybe ignorant about Kansas City. They are legit one of the top 2 teams in the league, maybe the top team. They definately have the top offense by far. I felt 50/50 about this game, at best. I knew in order to beat them we would have to have an insane game either on offense or on defense. We didn't quite get there, but it was so close. Josh willed his team forward and was clutch down the stretch, but it wasn't enough because the defense could not come through when we needed them to. -
Why Didn't We Not Touch Kelce at the End of Regulation?
MJS replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
The refs can blow it dead if he gives himself up, which he did. Doesn't even matter because they could review it and determine that he gave himself up with 3 seconds left to go, and they would put that time back on the clock. -
Wanting a Superbowl is different than expecting a Superbowl. It is incredibly difficult to get to the game and win it. I think fans have unrealistic expectations. How many decades did it take for Andy Reid to win a Superbowl? Sean Payton has only won one. He has had excellent teams over the years that fail to get there. The Superbowl is the ultimate goal, and absolutely it is fine to be disappointed, but I think fans are going overboard in their anger and misery. Hopefully that cools off in a few days / weeks and fans can be thinking rationally again (outside of our handful of doom and gloom posters who will trash the team forever no matter what).

I'm pretty sure every single time they call tails. Tails is considered to be the right choice, for some reason. Apparently Josh was undefeated on coin flips until this game, where he lost both.

I've seen some constructive criticism. I've mostly seen impassioned pleas to fire everyone and a lot of wallowing in misery.

Jordan's Bulls lost to the Pistons twice in the playoffs
MJS replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
No, I don't. Playoff games, both losses and victories, provide experience. Especially for Allen. Even though they lost, the team is now more battle tested and can draw from these experiences in future seasons. Every game and every season is a stepping stone. -

Because I don't think it is a sane wish to want your team to be blown out rather than to lose in overtime. Just my opinion. I want to see the Bills be competitive in every single game they ever play. I don't ever want to see them be blown out. Not once. Not ever. -
Been thinking about the final 13 seconds. Squib it, I get that. Even if you don't, couldn't you just press every receiver and just grab them and tackle them so they can't run their routes? Yes, you get called for holding and the Chiefs get 5 yards, but time ticks off the clock. Next play, do the same thing. More time ticks off. Who cares if you give them 5 yards two or three times? The time will run out. Keep the safeties deep if you want to protect in case Mahomes scrambles or a running back gets it. Anyways, I think the defensive coaches did not think through this situation properly. They should have never gone to a prevent defense.

I think that is insane, personally. The Bills were one play away from winning. They can retool with a lot of confidence next year. If they got blown out there would be no hope for next season. -

I mean, getting blown out is 10 times worse. This was a good game that either team could have won. -
It's not debatable after tonight, I think. He just needs to put in the years and he will overtake every franchise record. And I do believe he will get this team a Superbowl win.
-
You have to expect that. If you can't handle it you should probably stay off for a couple of days. I often do take a hiatus for a day or two after a loss. It's a good decision, usually.
-
Probably if he goes 3 seasons without making the playoffs you start thinking about it.
-
Oliver was very disruptive tonight. He has been developing nicely.
-
Yeah, let's see if Rex Ryan is available. A truly idiotic take, Ethan.

Fix the OT Rule for Playoff Games--That was Stupid

Might be the first time I ever agreed with you.
