Crazy contact, but what a success story for him. Has any other player gone from being cut (essentially), to a backup, to a starter, to getting a mammoth contact the next year?
""Active game-day rosters increased from 46 to 48 players"
Like this! We could have used that last year (Duke and Yeldon could have been active all year)
3 pre-season games is just right. First one the team gets their feet wet. Starters play the first half of game 2. Game 3 the bubble players fight it out. Always hated the fear of injury with 4 games.
I sat in a chair yesterday for about an hour looking through a window watching it rain outside. This is day 2. I'm not gonna make it. Please keep football on schedule.
Looks like we're rolling with what we've got at TE. You could definitely do worse than: Knox, Kroft, Croom, Smith, Sweeney... although one of these guys might get cut. Solid "B" imo
He's probably somewhere around the 250th best receiver option (32 teams X ~7 WRS, plus practice squad WRs).
And he's going against CBs in the XFL who are also around the 250th best.
Different ballgame.
I am the OP, and you ignored my other examples also (Phillips & snaking draft picks for cast offs - in particular Teller and Bodine (getting the better of NE on that too)).
Anyway, not sure what the problem is. I guess you don't like the use of the word shrewd. Whatever.
Giving Duke a second chance from CFL is a "move". McKenzie is cheap and was a smart "move" bringing him in as depth and speed. Taking advantage of the international rule for Wade was a clever "move" (not counting against roster). 4 new starters on the O-Line isn't an overhaul? Maybe it's not perfect yet, but that's an overhaul to me.
