For me, I never take too much from Combine visits. Teams meet with a lot of players in a short time. And I've read sometimes these visits are done as a favor for some agents to start getting momentum for their clients rolling. Rarely do we know the depth of the conversation. Could be just a "get to know ya, make sure we have your contact info correct" or it could be time at the white board. I've compared it to speed dating. I'm watching more to the top 30 visits and what positions they focus on there. Time will tell For the most part I agree. Though, I do see the value in Lewis as he is versatile and eats up snaps on Special Teams. He's not a guy I'd want to start, but can get you out of a game at several positions. At least there's value there. So while I'm not impressed by him, I get it as to why he's a rosterable player. I feel like Rapp get a pass too much. He was just as bad if not worse at times than Hamlin but for whatever reason, Hamlin gets put in the cross hairs. I don't think either should be starters but are both ok backups. Would have loved to see a bonafide starter like Holland brought in at least at one position. Forrest to me is a non factor.

Problem becomes there are only so many reps available in TC. If they select another Safety high it would limit Bishop's reps as he would need to split some of those. He needs the opportunity to develop. I would say the likelihood of drafting a safety high hinges on what they see as his reason for being so bad last year. If they feel he's just in over his head they may be open to it. If they feel it was mainly that he was still green due to lost time due to injury, they may double down on getting him ready. I know it's not popular, and I don't agree, but the the likelihood that the Bills view the safety position as less of a need than fans is fairly high IMO. They can make the case in the room that they have both starters returning, Bishop possibly taking a step forward. Again, I don't agree with that but I can definitely see a world that they do.

Tua gets the bag - $53M a year

Agreed. Now the honeymoon videos are a whole different argument... -
With the 68th pick in the draft the Raiders select: Wyatt Milum, OT, West Virginia We like Milum's toughness and strength. Seems to be fundamentally sound. Only issue we have with him is arm length, so the plan is to kick him inside to guard and let him shine. The Patriots and @section122are on the clock

As with all of these predraft far fetched situations... It all depends on how the board plays out. That's the answer to most draft questions. You play how the board unfolds. Could it happen? Who knows. But who are the players that are there that mak it happen? No amount of "How would you feel about...." Is accurately answered without knowing who is on the board at that time. Something we won't know til draft night.

Hard passes, soft passes, deep or short...he'd would likely allow the catch. Last year he gave up 54 passes for 679 yards and 10 touchdowns, tied for the most touchdowns allowed of any corner last season. As horrible as Rasul looked last year... I'd bring him back before grabbing this guy.

Tells me they are starting to zero in on Ward at 1. If trade back was still an option, would have been smart to at least bring him in as a fall back option and get to know him.

Who are the most overrated and underrated Bills?
BuffaloBillyG replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall
Obviously. But choosing 3 QBs who have the play flow through them and have more opportunity as opposed to other DTs that have a more passive opportunity to flash per game is....a choice. Almost like you don't understand that even if a DT is doing his job and doing it solid he isn't going to flash on tape. 👍 -

I find it very weird you keep using QBs to compare Oliver to. Maybe the most bizarre comparisons I have seen -
I think he gave them some pretty sweet Hailee Steinfeld autograph merch. Good gift.

Earnhardt should trademark the name "Lamar". -
TSW 1.0 Poll - Who should the Bills select at #62?
BuffaloBillyG replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I went Bond. Isaiah Bond. Rumors nod character concerns this time of year always come up. As well as the ever popular "does he really love football" narrative. Pish posh. I view these as things put out by GMs hoping to get certain guys to slip down the board in many circumstances. I've never been in a meeting with Bond so I can't attest to his attitude. And even if he is a bit of a temperamental guy, we definitely have the locker room to absorb one or two of these guys. We did with Diggs. Our QB is a polarizing Golden Lab who I think can help get anyone a bit more positive. The talent is there and he adds a speed element that just isn't there. If Bond is there at this pick based on skill set and film, this is almost a no brainier pick IMO. -
Josh Rosen was traded from the Cardinals to the Dolphins during the draft

Who are the most overrated and underrated Bills?
BuffaloBillyG replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've heard all those reasons before. They are repeated almost a a knee jerk pace whenever anyone hints anything negative about Dawkins. Same exact bullet points with zero substance to back it up. Thing about a thread like this is it's opinion based. You're more than welcome to yours. I'll stick with mine. Like I said, I'm not saying he's a bad player. He's just not as good as many here claim him to be, IMO. -
Rasul Douglas Wants to Stay in Buffalo
BuffaloBillyG replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wish we knew what the drop off was about. In the year we traded for him he was a ballhawk. Had multiple games where he forced multiple turnovers, won a PoY and got screwed out of another. At times he was the best player in the defense. Then last year it looked at times like he never saw a football field before that day. Even in a league where player performance sometimes erodes fast that was super quick. I mean, did he have some kind of injury we don't know about? Was it a philosophy change between what McDermott likes to call and how Babich called things last year? Did Monstars come down and steal his talent? Was it the quality of safety play behind him that exposed him a bit? Did age just catch him super fast? Could be a combination of things. In any event, if he's open to a low dollar prove it deal it at least gives the mirage of us retaining a starter from last year entering the draft and the appearance that we may not be as desperate at the position in the first round as we were. -

Overrated - Dion Dawkins. That's not to say I think he's bad. He's not. But I don't see him as a Pro Bowl level too 10 LT that many here seems to. I have him as very average. He does his job but is at times very beatable especially in big moments and commits too many dumb penalties to be a top LT IMO. Underrated - For this year coming up I'm going to say Joey Bosa. Many here already seemingly are writing him off. I'm not. Guy has one year to prove to the NFL that he can stay healthy and be a difference maker as a pass rusher. A lot of these injuries that have kept him off the field are going to be played through this year. He's going to be motivated to wreck games. Plus he's going from playing in front of one of the most laid back and passive fan bases to playing in front of BillsMafia. Players, especially on defense feed off the crowd. He's gonna eat. I'm expecting a solid season from him.- 109 replies

That's what the popular guys on TV say. And gets repeated by the masses as nauseum. You know guys like Mel Kiper that literally said if Jimmy Clausen didn't become a franchise QB he would quit. Each board is vastly different. And even then it's not a consensus. The Bills may have 5 guys rated top notch...and have it be different than the rest of the league. They could easily have a guy or two listed top that will be around at pick 10-15.

To me, this is exactly why it's the year to move up. We need top end talent more then 2nd and 3rd tier guys added to the roster at this point. We need to add a difference maker and we actually have the ammunition to get it done. On top of that it seems like a lot of teams may be open to moving down this year which may make this a buyers market and have to give up a bit less to get a deal done. If we move a 2 to go get a difference maker we have enough to get into the third and grab another tier 3 guy.

With the 37th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft the RAIDERS Select: Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama I'm well aware of the general board consensus about Milroe. I can't say I disagree... However, with the Raiders Milroe falls into the absolute best possible scenario for him to be successful at the next level. First off, with Geno Smith in house now, Milroe doesn't have the pressure of starting and with O'Connell still here Milroe doesn't have to be the main backup. This gives him all this year as a red shirt season to work on and improve his mechanics. Head to one of those biometrics programs. Learn to pass the short to intermediate throws. He already does posses the ability to throw the deep ball well and is an extremely gifted athlete. If he gets his short game in order, and in interviews I have seen he seems laser focused on that, he can be a star. Second, he is coming to a team where the minority owner is a former 6th round pick that went on to win more than a couple Super Bowls by using the short passing game and reading a defense, processing the play and making a decision . Those are Milroe's weak areas. Maybe a good guy to get some pointers or two from. Third, remember the days when Russ Wilson was talked about as an MVP candidate? His coach remembers. Pete did well hiding Russ for years in Seattle. He also resurrected Geno Smith. Maybe Pete Carroll just has a way with QBs or knows who to hire that can. In any event, the athleticism of Milroe combined with the history of Carroll to get the most out of subpar QBs, mixed with Tom Brady being a sounding board and the fact he isn't pressured to play right away may just be the perfect mix for what Milroe needs to succeed at the next level. The Patriots and @section122are on the clock

Meanwhile, if Maye struggles out of the gate for any reason, New England avoids a QB controversy in the media, fan base and potentially the locker room and putting more pressure on Maye. In the end, they shipped out a player the new staff isn't tied to. Shame for them they couldn't get more out of it.

I wanted him really bad last year as a development back up to Allen. It may have been against 2nd and 3rd reamers against us last year but he looked really good in live action. Read the field well and the moment wasn't too big for him. It's a good get for Dallas at a low price

Agree. With where the picks are located he has the ability to move up in any round while still able to slide back and pick up later round picks (or maybe some in next year's draft) and play the board more. He has a lot of freedom to move to where he wants to be based on how the board falls on draft nights. I'm hopeful he will be more aggressive than reactionary this year.

I do think we will be pretty active. While I do believe that you can't believe anything you hear this time of year from a GM, sometimes human nature slips up and hands get tipped a bit. In the past Beane has always said "I like my picks" when talking about the draft. This year when asked in a couple interviews he said "I like my ammunition". A slight change in vocabulary is notable here. He isn't sitting still. I think if a guy they love drops in the first they are making a move. If the board falls and several guys grades high stay on the board they sit tight round one and make a move up either in round 2 or 3. Either way, don't walk too far from the TV on draft nights 1 or 2... because the Bills may be in the clock far sooner than estimated.
