Plausible X/#1 receiver trade candidates — are there any?
BuffaloBillyG replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
This. Even if the didn't want Olave, they would have called. Two reasons. One, Beane has said himself, there are guys pretty much assigned to other teams that have frequent conversations. They use guys that have ties to other guys on other teams. This could be scout to scout, Assistant GM to scout but is way less frequently GM to GM. Second, if the Bills are in the WR market, Beane likes to call on everyone to find what the market should be. It's like when you buy a house. You may go look at a house you aren't as interested in to see what the comps in the area are. -
Hey I know a team that could use a top 10 DT when healthy. The Bills.

This is an excellent opportunity for the Dolphins to right the ship. Get a great football mind in the GM spot. Bring in quality coaches who will bring in great players that fit the system they put in place. But, Ross still owns the team. This will be just another case of them rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Ross is the ice berg.

What’s going on with practices/warmups
BuffaloBillyG replied to WIDE LEFT's topic in The Stadium Wall
As Egg points out. These injuries aren't exclusive to the Bills. This is something that is happe league wide and has for a couple seasons. As Cheese points out. The game may be "safer" from what is allowed on the field. But these are people that are freaks of nature. The size/speen on an NFL field these days is a deadly combination. Bodies can only handle so much. There are also a lot of cases that players are given the injury tag on a Wednesday that got injured the games before. You see guys go down and get hurt, then finish the game. Be it with medical assistance (pain killers) or adrenaline... sometimes the injury isn't felt and discovered until a few days later. Like with Pacheco this week. -
There's where we disagree. Rapp was awful last year.
-
Let's be real here. It doesn't matter how the refs call it. People are already conditioned to disagree and cry about it. Weak mentality.
-
Avoid today, pay tomorrow. In 2023 he was a good backup. That I agree with. Actually, what had more to do with it is he's not as talented as people like to remember. He was by and large a boarder line starter last year as well. But people were more focused on crucifying Hamlin to notice. PFF (yes, taken with a grain of salt) actually had Hamlin rated higher than Rapp last year

Game week thread - Chiefs at Bills (Video preview on pg. 19)

Typically if Taron would be out, I'd be excited bto see more Shaq Thompson and traditional 4-3 sets. With Shaq out....cripes. Lots of Cam Lewis. Hopefully, we see more Max than Tre on the outside. Been calling for that. One issue is that we have had to call up a DT or two and/or a S almost every week. -
Jags listening to trade calls for Brian Thomas
BuffaloBillyG replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean, we have a bonehead in Coleman. I would trade the bonehead we have for a bonehead with speed, yes....lol -
Hate to see any player injured. Wish him a smooth recovery. But on the field, I really believe this is addition by subtraction. Maybe this gets Beane off his hands to go after Simmons or another vet. Really wish Shaq was playing. Potential big loss there even with Milano and Bernard possibly back this week.

I've seen a lot of people say this lately. My question is ..why? He took Shannahan's system. Added speed. Then when they took his presnap motion cheat code away...he has died a slow death. He hasn't adjusted. He has shown absolutely nothing as a play caller. Frequently abandons the run and calls super cute plays. He's not an innovator of anything. He's a guy that is probably suited to be an offensive coordinator under a head coach that calls the offense himself. And his system that he lifted from Shannahan is not a good fit for Allen at all I don't like Brady at all...but I would keep Brady 100% over McDaniel.

Jags listening to trade calls for Brian Thomas

They are 4-3 and in a good spot for a potential WC run. Throwing in the towel because Hunter will be out a few weeks is foolish. They just need BTJ to snap out of his funk. Another WR that needs a change of scenery: Adonai Mitchell from the Colts. Coleman for Mitchell. Trade bonehead for bonehead. -

Anyone still holding onto that last sliver of hope that the Jags would move BTJ can give it up now. He just became wayyyy more important to them. -
I personally, see far less critiques prefaces by the good stuff than I do people just referring to him as McDummy, McClappy or any of the lazy nicknames. The pre critique glazing that you speak of I really only see done with Josh. It's like you need to write a four page essay on him just to say he made one bad read or you get crucified. I, personally, don't see that level of "respect" given to McDermott. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I just never have noticed it being a routine thing here.
-
Strongly disagree. There are a fair amount of people here that have hated the McDermott hire from the get go. Mainly because they wanted an offensive minded coach to pair with a young Allen. Then their stance was solidified after 13 seconds. There is nothing he can do without those doing everything they can to move credit elsewhere. Should the Bills win a Super Bowl you will see a record number of the "but" posts: "I'm super happy the Bills win a Super Bowl.....but ..." And they will all be targeted at McDermott.
-
So, I'm wrong, yet you confirm you would do just what I said at the end of your post. Good stuff! Lol
-
The McDermott haters will not stop. They will say Josh Allen won despite McDermott. They will use the whole "Yeah ...but we didn't dominate. The way we won wasn't sustainable." and the narrative will immediately shift to "Well, no way can he do it again"

BuffaloBillyG replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's the opposite of "finding a rhythm". When you scheme to get the QB in a rhythm, the idea is typically some high percentage pass in the short to medium area. Think some short crossers or short outs. Throwing a lower percentage pass deep down field is counter productive to what you're looking for -
It's a cool footnote to the history of the team. But the games were played 30 years ago. I'm more focused on the future than the past. Now don't you and your kind have some banks to rob so you can come to Buffalo this weekend?
-
Allen's second year is when we brought in Brown and Beasley. I would compare this years version of Diggs and what he's done in NE this far this season to Brown when we brought him in. They also had Knox who many thought was on the verge of breaking out. And we had Isiah McKenzie in his gadget years.
-
But the Bills DID do that for Allen early on. They brought in vets like Beasley and Brown. Made the big Diggs trade. The issue has been that when we lost one of these guys we replaced them with a guy that's just not quite as good.
