I find it interesting that at no time in this predraft process was it reported that the Bills had Kenneth Grant in for a top 30 visit. That's my guy right there too. Now, the list I follow only has 23 out of the 30 visits reported, so he may have been and we don't know it...but if not I would call the odds long we hear the Bills call his name on night 1 even if he is there for us. If I'm not wrong the only time Beane selected a guy not in for a top 30 visit in a non COVID situation was Kincaid.

My dream scenario involves Goodell tripping and falling in the way to the podium to announce the first pick....and having him unable to announce picks the rest of the draft. Or he stays home and does the picks from his "man cave" like he did the COVID draft and just like that gets more and more obviously drunk as the night progresses.

Imagine if the Bills were owned by the same person as the Sabres. Yeesh....

What many want is the ability to watch the draft and discuss it with friends here. Kinda hard not to read them when the village idiots come into the thread...a thread that is often even labeled with please don't spoil picks...and start interjecting them along with the rest of the messages. I do think having 2 threads is the better call. One for people that just want to watch the draft with suspense and discuss it...and another for those "LAMP" posters that peaked in high school and are craving attention.

Because most likely, the player they would take at 30 is going to have a second round grade, anyway. So trading down into that 34-36 spot and pick up the same level player with an extra pick in your pocket is the smart play IMO. Even if you get a 4th back you can package and slide it back up and into the 3rd where we do not currently have a pick for a guy that may have been a mid 2nd grade and has slipped. Again, that's all depending on how the board plays out, who is available and who is left when the Bills pick. The meat of this draft is in the second and third rounds anyway.

I'm in lockstep with you. Both in who I would like and who I think they take if he's there. Of course, everything depends on who is on the board when they pick and if they move up or slide back I'm also very open to a small slide back with a team in the early second round.

All I know is this. Whoever the Bills select early will cause the majority of this board to meltdown because they wanted someone else on the board. And by day 3 people will be talking about guys selected in the 6th round that they think will legitimately start this year. Up next: People thinking every preseason cut we make will be claimed and never make it to the practice squad.

This would make a lot of sense. If I had Hunter I would play him both ways....game plan specific. Such as say the Patriots were to get him. If I was the coach I'd play him on defense mainly that game against Allen. When we played the Jets ..don't really need him against Fields so he would be at WR and rotate in on obvious passing downs. Would still have to make the opponent prepare for him on both sides of the ball too.

In addition, if he does play both sides he's got double the snaps exposing him double the possibility of injury. And if he does get hurt you lose a top offensive AND too defensive weapon on your team at the same time. Not to mention playing both ways will likely have him burnt out before the playoffs begin.

It's the voluntary portion so it's not the big deal some make it out to be. Now if he does the "hold out/hold in" thing once it's mandatory...that's another issue. My only concern is that it seems to me (without hard stats to back me up, just from what I observed over the years) that guys that miss early off season workouts seem to be more suspectable to soft tissue injury that plagues them during the season. Hamstrings, groin, that sort of thing. Time will tell...

I'll watch night one. On night two I'll typically flip between the draft and WWE Smackdown. I'll follow along here to see who goes where. By Saturday most of the players I know are drafted and the coverage on TV is about the first 2 days and recapping the last few picks very minimally so I lose interest completely.

The coaching is a key part. New England put on a clinic of how NOT to develop a young QB. They put a really bad WR core around him. A bad OL. And then hired a mediocre DC as his OC and a ST coach as his QB coach. Not saying he would have been a great player but man they did NOT do him any favors in his development. Nix is a perfect fit for Sean Paytons offense. They have a couple decent weapons in Sutton and Mims. I think he's gonna be ok.

Bond has a better chance going undrafted completely then going round 2 to anyone IMO.

I'd be more open to a trade BACK with say the Giants.

As always, depends on a lot of variables. Who is there? Who is left? Did we trade up/down/stay put? All depends on how the board falls and who and where Beane sees the value at the pick as opposed to waiting to address the position. Safety or EDGE rusher could easily push into those top 3 picks IMO as well. I would venture that it's darn near 100% 2 of the 3 you mentioned will be picked in the first 2 rounds.

It's a nice house. But I expected something a little more... elaborate from Von I guess.

I almost think that was the feeling last year only being WR. Everyone was sure we would get at least 2. Instead we came away with one that is so slow they had to upload his 40 footage using AOL.

I respect this opinion, however is there really a better veteran option that is realistic? Of the 3 you make mention directly: 1. Gilmore is better. Sure. But it takes two to make a deal. Does he ever want to be back in Buffalo? We saw how he acted when drafted here and how elated he was to leave. I don't think he would come back. 2. Samuel Jr has the neck and shoulder issues. How serious are those? Being a good young player like him is still available this later in FA...I'd guess that those that have access to his medicals don't see him as a wise investment. And he is not an eager tackler which makes him a poor fit. 3. Douglas isn't better at this stage IMO. Same level as White was mid last season. I would say unless there was an injury hampering Douglas we don't know about, there may be more upside with White now being 2 years removed from serious injury as a bounce back candidate than Douglas who just seemed to forget how to play football at times. I still see the Bills grabbing a CB early. But now this move makes it less necessary to overreach for one that's a bad fit or may need some time to catch on. If it prevents another Elam situation...then that's money well spent in the grandee scheme of things.

It at least gives the illusion that they don't have to. Tre as a #1 CB was cooked. Tre as a #2 behind Benford and 2 years removed from his injury may not be as bad as some think. He knows the system, terminology, communication. I think bringing him back to a system he is familiar in has value.

I agree. Someone will take him round 1 as the supply and demand forces it. That said there's been a steady flow of his interviews rubbing people the wrong way, people not eager to have the Sanders Drama train pull in and questions about maturity. I mean we have all seen QBs slide in the draft (Levis, Willis, Nassib, Barkley ext) that the experts had going round 1. I think he still goes mid first round...hope he does anyway as that pushes another player down the board for the Bills lol
