  1. Exactly this. It's also easy to talk without knowing of how things played out. Let's say for the sake of argument, Beane DID win a bidding war. He would have likely had to vastly overpay. Now he sunk all that money into Hollins and Hollins gets injured here. Now he's overpaid and sitting on IR. Pitchforks would still be out in full force that we overpaid a JAG that's sitting on IR.
  2. Pro tip: If you adamantly tell them they do not have your consent to look in your trunk or glove box they will know you are an experienced traveler who knows what's up and they will fast track you through.
  3. Of all the bad decisions and missed picks Beane has had, not re-signing Mack Hollins isn't going to be what costs him his job. From the sounds of it, they made Hollins an offer and it was Hollins's choice to head to New England. Maybe Hollins and his representative told the Bills the offer the Patriots made and Beane passed. Maybe Hollins got the offer and jumped on it. But no one can force a guy to stay if he wants to go.
  4. Agree. That's why I put it the way I did with "roughly the same odds". They do seem to like bringing back familiar faces and by most accounts, the McDermott/Daboll relationship has been fixed and they are on good terms. I would agree there is a higher that 0% chance he's brought back if we need an OC in the off-season.
  5. Replace McDermott? Daboll? That would be an absolutely horrendous move.
  6. In the NFL nothing is guaranteed. However, I will guarantee Daboll is not brought in in the middle of a season to run the offense. And I would offer roughly the same odds he's not brought back in the off-season either.
  7. With us on a short week playing on Thursday next week that leaves zero percent chance they make a move after this game no matter how bad the offense looks. Now if we look really bad this week and Thursday against Houston, then I think the move could happen then with the mini bye. Problem is, is there anyone on staff that can take over and improve things? Kromer hasn't called plays in about a decade and Ronald Curry has never been an OC. Those two IMO would be the favorites on staff for "next up".
  8. I don't understand how Codrington still has a roster spot. Especially with all the injuries this year.
  9. Honestly, it really wouldn't shock me to see Hardman called up before Gabe. Hardman should still be in decent shape from being in the Packers TC. Plus he adds ST value as a return guy. I can see them activate him for that alone, then work him in on a few Go routes on offense.
  10. You don't build a bully by passing. Christian Okoye is rolling over in his grave. I mean, yeah, he's still alive....he just has weird hobbies
  11. That's what the insurance is for....
  12. I think unless there is a complete 180 degree turn on the offense, Brady has a better shot of being fired than a HC somewhere. And this is the exact reason I said he was a fool for removing himself from consideration for the Saints HC job last year. You can go from hot commodity to forgotten about in the blink of an eye.
  13. I haven't read through the first 19 pages so I'm not sure if this is mentioned. With the extreme unlikelihood that Beane or McDermott will be dismissed, I think the better/more realistic question may be "Who do we want at OC and DC next year?" For me if either Babich or Brady aren't brought back, I think as unsettling as it is there is the distinct likelihood they will, again, promote from within. I would expect either Kromer or Ronald Curry to be put in the OC spot. And on defense, I would suspect McDermott takes back his defense. But, what if we look outside the organization? Who would make sense at OC and DC? And no, I don't think Daboll is brought back.
  14. I'm not a Patriot Homer by any means. I'm just not allergic to giving credit where it's due to other teams like so many fans are these days. Also if you read my post, I give them credit for what they are doing THIS year because idgaf about what's going to happen 2 years from now. I don't anoint them as anything more than a big problem in 2025.
  15. It doesn't seem to be working. We need to get Eli on this.
  16. I really dislike the person, but as a player I can recognize he's really talented. His play this year is even more impressive when you consider his age and the major injury he's coming off of. I do, however, hope he steps on a whole bag of Legos today.
  17. There's a whole world outside these boards lol. I'll say this much, I very MUCH prefer the Patriots fans that post here to the Chiefs fans that post here. I can handle Jets fans (they aren't really that intelligent) or Dolphin fans (they really don't understand football that much. But they try). It's the typical self entitled, smug Pats fans that only know the Brady era that make me want to drill my fist into a wall.
  18. Right now, as a fan, I don't care about 2026, 2027 or further. They are a problem in 2025 and a significant obstacle in the Bills path. Yes, the Pats look good against weaker teams. Buffalo just lost to one of the weakest teams in the league. They got run out of the building against a weaker team in Atlanta. As a side note, the Pats season this year reminds me a TON of Buffalo's season in Allen's third year. We were winning and looking good, and yet the chatter was we "hadn't beaten anybody good". Remember how infuriating that was? How we replied "hey we don't make the schedule. We play who we play and win?" Yeah, that's what the Patriots have done this year. Pump the breaks all you want, but winning 9 out of 11 NFL games is not an easy task. It doesn't happen on accident. There has been zero letdown weeks where they regress and fall. I hate the Patriots just like any self respecting Bills fan, but people that are saying they aren't for real, haven't done it for enough consecutive years or whatever their justification are just burying their head in the sand
  19. I am normally a "hey, he deserves it, these guys are allowed to do things outside the facility" type guy...but man, coming off that loss to the Dolphins I'm actually going to agree with you. I suppose this is easier to swallow than seeing him do yet another car commercial. And speaking bof commercials, can someone tell me why Dawson Knox is making lunch for Celino Law? That's got to be the most cringe worthy commercial any current Buffalo Bill is in.
  20. And I think that's what bothers me so much. It's the Patriots. Again. If any team deserved to go through a long rebuild it was them. But no, the Bears just had to take Caleb Williams, the Commanders had to take Jayden Daniels and that dropped Maye into the Patriots lap. And on top of it, the Titans just had to move on from Vrabel. I actually think it would be so much easier to swallow that another AFCE team was a threat of it wasn't the flipping Pats. Still have the Masshole fatigue from the last 2 decades.
  21. The schedule has favored them to an extent, no doubt. However, give them credit for executing and not getting bit by a bad team like we did last week against Miami. Another thing that has really helped them out is that they have had some crazy good injury luck. Both in having key players of theirs not miss time and getting teams that are missing some valuable contributors.
  22. I think it's more than a narrative. I mean Joe is a good player. But he wasn't anything in college until he had Justin Jefferson and Chase to throw to. And he's been fortunate enough to have at least 2 top level WRs almost his entire NFL career. Flacco and even Browning in his first stint filling in did well.
  23. Not necessarily a bad thing. Coming back maybe with a bit of rust. But let's face it, Flacco threw for 470 yards last week. No matter who the QB is, with those WRs, they will move the ball. But their defense is still horrible.
  24. I don't know. While he was there he made a lot of good plays happen for the Buckeyes lol
