  1. Very nice breakdown of Shakir here. I think tempering expectations are a smart idea. We saw what getting too riled up about potential can lead to with Gabe Davis. On the other hand, while your projection is fair and realistic..I would be more than happy with that statline and production from a former 5th round investment. Add in that I could also see him getting a look at the KR job this year. With the new rules I think he has exactly the right skillset to be good in that spot.
  2. Question: What do you call it if Florio, Simms, Nick Wright, Cowherd and Steven A. Smith were in a car that drove off a cliff? Answer: A good start.
  3. I like Milton. For me he would be on my radar if there in the 6th. He's got some elite physical traits. Of course, I don't think he can hit the broad side of a barn 15 yards away, and if he does find it he's likely to throw the ball through the wall and out the other side. One of the things I'm looking forward to this preseason is seeing Shane Buechele in action as well. I'd like to see what we have there, as well as a rookie to compete for the PS QB slot.
  4. I like the picks, but LOVE the cap room we will recover in 2025 from this pick. With a couple other small moves we really should have quite a bit available next year.
  5. Didn't see it posted but could have missed it. I can actually see this happening, too
  6. I would have strongly considered him at my next pick if he was there. Picking for the Giants and 2 games against Philadelphia, he's a one man wrecking crew to stop the tush push.
  7. I don't think Josh would have been the pick. His footwork was bad. No way Rex would have liked his feet. We likely end up with Rosen. Rosen screams "I get pedicures".
  8. Wondering if he ends up with a role of that "6th OL" type guy we tend to roll with.
  9. Depends on how far back the Giants are reading before we trade with them. Because I do not think Beane is giving a bunch of high picks away for a trade that far up.
  10. If I'm not mistaken that would also disqualify them from receiving a comp pick. Contracts have to end naturally to qualify. Voiding years is the same as releasing according to the formula.
  11. Diggs is signed through next year as well. If he goes to Dallas it would be by way of trade or that he's cut. If he's released, he would not be eligible for the comp pick formula
  12. I do believe, and this is just my speculation, that there was something said to Diggs in the exit interview about potentially moving on. I remember after the season he was on an interview and said something to the effect of being "prepared for whatever happened" when asked about his future in Buffalo. Of course, this could also be where Diggs asked to move on and was told "we'll see". Again, speculation but I think it fits.
  13. It's more the uncertainty of where the pick may fall. It could be pick 33. It could be pick 64. While still a 2nd...there's a big difference in the 2 and the value isn't quite the same. Then add in the lack of instant gratification of having that 2nd rounder this year....and I get (but don't necessarily agree with) the complaints.
  14. That's the major difference in being a fan and being a member of any pro sports teams front office. Most fans think on a year to year basis. GMs operate most of the time on a longer term vision. Of course, we as fans aren't privy to what the long term plan is so we have to react in real time to what's happening and speculate the rest.
  15. After how he ended the season...we sure about that? The league will pretty much dictate where you trade someone. A few seasons back the Ravens trades Orlando Brown to the Chiefs. Why? Because they likely offered the best trade package. Same likely happened here. When making moves you make them based on what helps your club the most. Secondary reasoning would be what may or may not be a tougher "out" after 17 games and into the playoffs.
  16. I think more people than not understand that the Bills bring in guys for visits that are possible 1st round picks as well as later round picks. Look back over the years and it's pretty normal for them to bring in middle round guys as well for visits.
  17. RB room isn't set yet. We have Cook, and Johnson is more a RB3/ST guy IMO. Then we have Evans who should be competing with Johnson. Other than that we need a compliment to Cook in the Murray/Harris role IMO. Big with big play explosive ability. But I've seen him mocked late 2nd to early 3rd and hoping a RB isn't coming that early with perspective needs at WR, EDGE and Safety. Still if he slipped to round 4 he would be a really nice pairing with Cook IMO.
  18. Beane alluded yesterday that he had been in communication with Allen and informed him that there were calls about moving Diggs and it wasn't off the table. So, Allen knew this was a possibility. I don't believe that Allen would object because he understands the business side of things by now. I think Allen would like to have him on the field, but is also used to new faces and moving on. Change has been consistent in his career. Be it Beasley and Brown or even now with Diggs and even Gabe Davis...the ship sails on and he knows that My most likely take on his "feelings" on the matter is that he will miss the good that came with Diggs being here...but is also ready to move on and stop having to answer questions about their relationship and what's going on with Diggs
  19. I want a good WR out of the draft that can grow into that #1 role and be on a cost controlled rookie deal for the next 4-5 seasons. I do not want to give up high picks and then pay a guy top dollar on top of it.
  20. I mean, back is back. The only team picking 29-32 that I see wanting to move up might be Kansas City...and not sure I want to make their path to getting their guy easier unless they make it very worthwhile.
  21. What you are saying is true. A 2nd rounder is a 2nd rounder and in reality there is value. We got a solid return in any event. However, when trading for future picks there is the addition to the move that the pick in and of itself is largely unknown. There is a big difference between pick 33 and pick 65. And while we can estimate right now that Minnesota "sould" end up drafting top 10 or maybe even top 5...anything can happen. I'm sure that teams dealing with Houston in last year's draft felt whatever picks they were getting for this year would be pretty high. Didn't end up that way. Another good recent example is us trading for Rasul last year. At the time the trade was made it looked like the return pick from GB would be high up in the round. They got hot late, made the playoffs and that pick sank. That's where the devaluation comes in.
  22. My room would be something like: Samuel Shakir Rookie picked at or within a few spots of 28 One of: Tyler Boyd/DJ Chark/ late round rookie Hollins Shorter/Isabella/Hamler/UDFA battle for spot either on PS or #6 duties depending on how many they keep. Remember we also have Kincaid, Cook and Knox to absorb targets. That's factors in IMO. I do believe we will add another RB either mid to late rounds in the draft or a vet like CEH on an inexpensive 1 year deal. Plenty of weapons. Past that I also would keep in mind that currently I have 2 picks in the second round next year. If the above room isn't showing potential after the first month -month and a half of the season and the team is still solidly in the hunt I become a buyer near the trade deadline for a WR.
  23. For me I picked Kyle because he meant so much to this team for so long and retired right as the team was turning the corner. Wish he would have played a year or two longer to really enjoy some winning.
