  1. It's not spectacular, but the Steelers did bring back Mason Rudolph. Rudolph closed the season as their starter 2 seasons ago and played pretty good ball for them. Made some more spot starts last year with the Titans. And is very well liked in the locker room. It isn't perfect, but that's the starter if Rodgers pulls a fast one and retired or signed with someone else. My opinion is they may actually be better off with Rudolph.
  2. If they draft him Wilson Winston and Sanders would be the most hysterically dysfunctional QB room in NFL history
  3. Yup. And with some deals they are done and not yet submitted to the league office yet either. For example, they may have already agreed to a pay cut with Samuel and are waiting to make it official. Beane tends to like to move up to the cap and then announce these things with other moves he makes so it doesn't look like he's flush with cash.
  4. This is a good time to remind people that though SPOTRAC does an excellent job at keeping up to date, they are just saying what the contracts currently reflect. This number and the number the players union (which is normally closer to official number) are often off a bit Furthermore, Beane has a completely different number on his desk that reflects what he actually has to work with. He's talked about it before. I believe it's basically a chart with what moves still can be made of a move presents itself that makes sense. They can still make some moves.
  5. For comparison, in 2016 Rich Eisen posted a 5.94 (his personal best) 40 time in his yearly "Run, Rich, Run". He was 47 years old at the time.
  6. As I stated further up post from the comment you quoted me on....I'm in the camp that the Bills still need a WR and early. So on that we agree. I wouldn't say the "plan" is to go into next season with what we have. But plans this time of year go sideways quickly. Maybe they planned on getting Godwin or Adams and we're told "thanks but no thanks." Maybe they plan on drafting a WR early, but the draft falls a way that negates that. Point is stuff happens. In that scenario I could see a legitimate thought process that Palmer isn't the Hollins replacement. Palmer replaces Cooper. Shavers steps in for Hollins. And I think an argument could be had that a Palmer/Shavers combo upgrades Cooper/Hollins or at least breaks out the same. And then from there logic would dictate that at least one of the three things you mentioned (better health and improved play from Samuel, Coleman and Kincaid) is very possible. Not the dream scenario and not what I'm hoping for but whatever will be will be
  7. He's stuck around longer than most would have thought. And on his lone touch last year he showed some really good burst popping off that 69 yard TD. I think he's ascending. For him he HAS to make an impact on STs to get the game day jersey. Everyone is forgetting about him but I think he carves out a role
  8. He exceeded both those numbers (catches and yards) in 2022 in 16 games. In both 2023 and 2024 he was less than 100 yards away from hitting that mark despite missing 7 games one season and two the other. Which is why I said if healthy he can hit a 3/39 per game average. As a matter of fact when you take his career games played (58) and average out his numbers he has averaged 3.13 receptions for just over 39.4 yards per game. So factually, you are incorrect. He's literally attained those almost exact numbers over the course of his career. And a slight bump in production wouldn't be surprising to me.
  9. I do agree with MANY here that the Bills should grab a WR early. I also think when the Bills grab a WR it will be later on then most (myself included) would want to unless one drops and is a great value pick. I'm actually thinking that we may have a WR that they feel can take over some of the Hollins role on STs. I think there's a good chance Shavers is given the opportunity to claim that role. He was billed as a good ST player coming out and he has some size. Not saying he will be a beast, but I wouldn't be shocked if he earns a jersey on game day next year
  10. The catches and yards are easily attainable if healthy. That averages out to 3 catches for a shade under 39 yards per game. TDs I won't touch because those can be jumpy from year to year. So, yes, if healthy I could see him hitting those numbers.
  11. 21 more in essentially one more game, yes. (Josh basically sat out week 18). Also take into account Josh sat basically the equivalent of another game to game an a half combined due to blowouts. The Bills as a team had 520 pass attempts to the Chargers 510. I will note the Bills had 28 MORE team rushing attempts than the Chargers. Again, can be attributed to having the lead late in games more often and playing in a few more poor weather games than the Chargers did as well.
  12. Should mix Kincaid in there, but he's not a WR. Bills (mis)used their first pick in each of the last 2 drafts on pass catchers.
  13. Looks like we missed out on the Fotu sweepstakes. One step closer to Jordan Phillips triumphant return.
  14. If you're watching the show looking for unbiased opinions that's a you issue. That's not what this show is meant to be It's a hype show meant to sell optimism and present the Bills in the best possible light. That's all. And for what it's meant to be it does a nice job. The host play their roles well and present the Bills in a very good light. I've had the good fortune to talk to Chris Brown off the record a few times and he's very different off the camera. Almost sounds like some people here.
  15. They went to three in a row and won 2. I'd would rather have that then the 4 in a row and all losses
  16. I don't disagree with you. A definite red flag. I will offer a couple of counter points. In his 4 seasons he has had 3 different offensive coordinators. Joe Lombardi, Kellen Moore and Greg Roman. They run very different offenses and he's had to learn a new one each season. Last year the Chargers ran a run heavy approach. In his 3 seasons before that Palmer has had Mike Williams and Keenan Allen drawing targets ahead of him (Austin Eckler as well). I don't think he's going to break out to put up #1 WR numbers. But if he can settle in and stay healthy, he should have no issues eclipsing the production put up by Mack Hollins and Amari Cooper did last year.
  17. To all talking about a "hold out". He won't be doing that. The thing they do now is the "hold in". He will show up and attend meetings. But not participate in team activities, practice or anything that would put him potentially at risk to injury. That's the new thing. By doing this he would avoid fines and accrue his time as normal. The drawback is often after a hold in the player has to catch up physically to the team and never really seems ready to play. Just to my eye I see guys who do this suffer from soft tissue injury during the season and rendering them pretty useless for that season.
  18. Edwards is due up as well. That's our entire IOL coming due. IMO it's more sensible to lock them down as it's easier to find a new RB to run behind a solid IOL then it is to find an new G/C that can slide in. Keeping the IOL the same helps Davis and whoever else stay productive.
  19. I personally don't see them re-signing Cook at all unless he chooses to come back at a very team friendly deal. And I don't see that happening. I don't think Beane ever intended to sign Cook to a second contract. It's been Beane's MO to not sign RBs, but instead keep the pipeline stocked and cycle through. Sign a vet like Gore or Murray when need be to fill out the room. We saw that with Singletary who was on the roster when they selected Moss. When Moss (and then Hines) didn't work out we kept it stocked with Cook. Took Davis last year I firmly believe was taken to replace Cook. And here's the important part. If/when Cook hits FA, he's going to get paid. Big. Someone will shell out a lot of money seeing his production as a 50% of the time player and convince themselves that if he plays 90% of the snaps they have Barkley 2.0. which means a chance at a nice high 3rd or 4th round comp pick. So out of Cook we would have gotten 4 years production on a rookie contract and a high day 3 comp pick out of a second round pick. Draft another RB to play behind Davis, wash rinse repeat.
  20. If the draft falls this way Beane should pull a hamstring running to turn the card in for Grant. I just don't see him falling that far.
  21. I agree. Beane's early picks have been meh. But is that due to poor scouting or waiting patiently until they are down to their final guy with a first round grade and settling for what's left? Maybe a combination of both? Because I'm a fat old guy I liken a lot of things to pie. You're sitting there and there's chocolate cream pie. Banana cream pie. And a nice apple pie. Now there's nothing wrong with any of those IMO, and they are all about the same. But for some reason, that banana cream would hit the spot on that day. Would you rather sit and hope a piece is left after everyone else goes through the line and end up with apple...or speak up and get that banana cream you need that day? (Feel free to substitute any pie if your preference in my analogy) I feel this kinda proves my point. He made several big leaks for Josh and that worked out well. Because they identified early who they wanted were super aggressive and attacked. The move for Edmunds was smaller, still aggressive and despite what many claim here was a solid player for 4 years on a rookie contract. When he swings big he usually connects. It's those micro trade up 3-4 spots for guys like Elam that swing and miss. I'm with you. Use those 2026 picks this year and worry about next year's draft next year
  22. Just to be clear you're saying trade from 30 to 40ish? I do agree that they may find about the same grade wise from 30 to 40. Problem I have with that is between those 10 spots they are letting the other teams dictate to them who they end up with. That's how you end up with an Elam instead of McDuffie. Or a Kincaid instead of Addison. Or a Coleman over Brian Thomas. I much rather see movement go the other direction this year. I think with the ammo they have this is the year the draft strategy should be "identify and attack". Find that guy they feel can move the needle year 1 game 1. I use Kenneth Grant as an example here because that's "my guy". Let's say they pick him out as the top guy they want. Instead of sitting still hoping he falls to a spot the may be able to cheaply jump up 4-5 spots...go all in and get him. If they feel he's possibly gone by pick 15...give up what you need to to get to pick 12. Don't let him come off the board. Sometimes you gotta make the big bold move. I truly believe this is the year for it.
  23. Wholeheartedly disagree. To me, Ladd falls in EXACTLY the same category as Keon. Good player, but not the type we need on this offense. Ladd put up nice numbers on an offense with little else to throw to. He likey wouldn't have seen that same volume here, especially being he played over 60% of his snaps from the slot and we have a log jam there. Instead of "Coleman is slow" posts we would be seeing "Ladd isn't used enough" posts, even though our best WR currently is our main slot guy in Shakir. Again, Ladd is a nice player and fell into a perfect situation for himself with the Chargers. It would likely have been much different here. I get you and I agree. I would love an athletic fat fella or two early. Yes, he will make slight moves up. I guess I don't call jumping a few spots "aggressive". Or at least aggressive enough. I'd love to see him get super aggressive and moved way up the board. For instance z if Kenneth Grant is their guy and he's sitting there at 12-15, go get him. Don't hem and haw and see if...well maybe he slips to 25 and we try and move up for the bare minimum. Identity the guy you need and spend what it takes to get there.
  24. Fair. My only rebuttal for that is that would be what I would expect in most seasons. In a draft as stacked at WR as he came out of, a WR taken at pick 33 I would expect to have a slightly higher ceiling. That's just my opinion however.
  25. Yeah, I think WR2 is kinda his ceiling. I would hope for more from where he was sele, but it is what it is. Rooting for the kid for sure Honesty, haven't had much time to look into this draft so far. I gave a few guys I like. So far if I had to select guys to avoid, it would be anyone from Colorado, Shemar Stewart or Nick Emmanwori
