If the Bills scored on the final posession......
CLTbills replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes but my point is, you actually have WAY more clock to work with if you miss that 2 point conversion now, versus if you miss it with 2 minutes or less left on the game clock. -
Bengals/Dolphins... Can either one beat the pats?

yes... point is, they need to lose one more game than JUST to buffalo. Tying them for the division does us no good. -
If the Bills scored on the final posession......

Honestly, I liked the call... I posted in another thread about it, but it's as simple as this. I'd rather know now, at this very second, with seven minutes or whatever it was left on the clock, how many more times i need to score. At least if we miss the 2pt conversion (which we're going to have to have one either way, whether it's now or later) now, at 7 minutes, It changes our gameplan a bit, knowing you still need two possessions. Maybe you get the ball back and get a big play, and just kick the FG instead of wasting time trying to score a TD, putting the game back in your defense's hands to get the ball back again. If you go for one (granted Hauschka makes the PAT) and then get the ball back and score again, and miss the 2pt conversion, the game is over, because most likely at that point, there won't be enough time left to get another possession. The CBS broadcast made it sound like an outrageous call to go for 2 when they did... I thought it was pretty simple and straightforward. -
eh... six of one, half-dozen of the other. I don't think it's that big of a difference. The sentimental me prefers McCoy. The realistic me doesn't really care. I'll say this... I was pissed when we handed the ball off to him at the one-yard line, when the best short-yardage back in the NFL is number 17.

Twitter does Angry McDermott
CLTbills replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have never seen him fired up like that. Hopefully that will shut up some of the "McClappy" people on this board. Not holding my breath, though. -
People that end their thread titles with ........ and then finish their sentence in their post ................ make me really mad.

Bills win out and they win the division?
CLTbills replied to Dafan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are mistaken. As I've stated in the other 3,000 playoff threads, common games w-l % comes before conference record when breaking a tie in the division. People don't realize (and it's because we haven't even been discussing tie-breaker scenarios for the division for twenty damn years) that the tie breaking procedures are actually different when it's for the division vs. if it's for the wildcard. https://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakingprocedures -

My blood pressure will thank you, Bills! -
That's the biggest thing. Faker has arguably the best group of skill position players in the NFL. Jarvis Landry, OBJ, Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt. Even add in Njoku. Can you think of a team that has more talent at the skill positions than that? I'd be freaking out if my QB wasn't performing, or even regressing, with that kind of talent around him. Couldn't agree more. I was pissed when Goodell said "Allen" instead of "Rosen" on draft night. And like you, I didn't realize how much those intangibles really matter. I do remember there being concerns about Rosen in leadership, but I wasn't really worried about it. Young Mr. Allen has proved that that is just as important as talent, and the work ethic that is required at the pro level as far as preparation and film study is far greater than in college. On a side note.... the teams are interviewing these kids, sitting down with them, etc. Us fans aren't. So we aren't seeing the "behind the scenes" things that the teams are seeing. I learned a lesson as a fan through the whole QB thing. Trust the process. Trust the McBeane. They know what they're doing.

The Bills are fourth in the NFL in kickoff return average. If I'm not mistaken, they were #1 going in to the Baltimore game.

This is me. I don't know what the hell to do all day. Need to wear my four year old out so he'll go to bed early. I normally put him to bed every night, and that's around 8:20-8:30. Little sh*t needs to be worn out and in the bed by 7:30!?

Negative. Common games comes before conference record. To Break A Tie Within A Division If, at the end of the regular season, two or more clubs in the same division finish with identical won-lost-tied percentages, the following steps will be taken until a champion is determined. Two Clubs Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs). Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. Strength of victory. Strength of schedule. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed. Best net points in common games. Best net points in all games. Best net touchdowns in all games. Coin toss Buffalo lost to Philly and Cleveland, both of whom NE* beat. NE's losses were to KC and HOU (Buffalo didn't play either) and Baltimore. We have to be ahead of them by a game to win the division. -

And because of that, not having a challenge to challenge the Harry no TD call. -
Not necessarily. Think about the Bills' last drive. I literally said to my buddy that I was watching the game with, "If we score here, I want to leave no time left for Baltimore to get in FG range because Tucker is automatic." You wouldn't have that luxury if you were prepared to have "extra time on the board." The fact that we were down seven gave us the luxury of using all the time we needed to score the final TD, which unfortunately, we weren't able to do.

Jets are (fortunately) not firing Gase. No way Shurmur comes back to the NYG. Marrone is gone. I think Patricia is probably gone in DET. They have shown basically zero improvement.

Tirico just stated on the SNF halftime show too, one win and Buffalo is in. -
Why not? I'd rather know right now, with 7 minutes left or whatever, how many more times I need to score. If you go for the PAT and get it, and get the ball back and score another TD, and miss the 2pt conversion, the game is over. At least if you miss the 2pt conversion with 7 minutes left, you know that you have to score two more times. I'd rather know with 7 minutes left than with 1 minute left when there's nothing you can do about it. It was pretty simple to me, and the CBS crew made it sound like an outrageous decision.

Agreed. And even if not this year, I feel like they're better set up for the future than almost anybody, considering we still have almost $90 million in cap money going forward to grow this thing. -

Yes. If one of the four had swept the other three, that would come first. If not, then conference win % -

For curiosity's sake, how does that work? Put the two clubs on FaceTime with the league office and flip a damn coin?
