Why all the picks for a project QB?
billsbackto81 replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's nonsense. He may need some seasoning with certain mechanics but he's not that raw a prospect. He was Top 3 in mostly everyone's charts. -
Bills essentially traded a 1st, 2nd, Watkins and Glenn

I think many are forgetting that at this moment AJ McCarron is the starting QB and hopefully this regime doesn't rush Allens development like Whaley and Co. did with EJ. Allen is a project with tremendous upside. Like Mahomes he will have the opportunity to sit, learn and develop. Hone his skills so when he does see action he's not overwhelmed. -
What has this front office done to date that has your panties in a bunch? Getting rid of the dead weight of previous regimes? Drafting immediate starters like White, Dawkins, and Milano? Acquiring draft capital to secure future franchise blue chip talent? Infusing a winning attitude and culture that was sorely lacking? Clearing cap space that will lead to quality FA signings next season? Making the playoffs for the first time in 17 years as a rookie coach and GM? You're right! If they keep throwing me this crap not only will I accept it but I'll gladly smell it all day long. FTR, I wanted Rosen as well. But I'm leaving the judging of talent to those paid well to do so and I trust their instincts. They've done ok so far.

2018 Draft: 1st round discussion

I guess you're right. Playing in a tropical paradise like Denver for Elway, Boston for Brady or Green Bay for Rodgers can't compare to the harsh weather Buffalo has.

They're afraid the Browns take Allen instead of Darnold. And if the Browns take Allen with the Bills already having secured #2 they'll lose their minds since he's the only QB they'll consider at 2. They want to make sure if they part with 2 it's for a Kings ransom. I'd hold off if I were Beane and if the Browns take Darnold the price drops to 12, 22 and a second. Can't lose next years 1st just to jump 10 spots when you're already giving up 2 of them.

Rosen or Darnold? Who's your pick?
billsbackto81 replied to ColdFront_USAF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe this to be true as well. I think they would prefer Darnold but he seems unattainable with everyone believing he goes #1 or #2 to the Giants if they hold their position. -
Yeah,..... but did you "start" one?

Honestly, does anyone actually miss the Jills?
billsbackto81 replied to JPL7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not really. Some of those girls needed a lot of makeup. -
Considering all the departures through FA and retirement it would be a wise move, but not for a first. OL is on life support. Our LB and WR corps are mediocre at best with Zay possibly getting suspended. Keeping our top picks and going into the season with Foles/ McCarron/ Peterson isn't horrible. Heck, it'd be our best QB line up in 20 years.

Patriots covet Mike White per Mayock
billsbackto81 replied to Cripple Creek's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not saying White can't be a good QB or otherwise. All I'm saying is can you imagine the backlash if Goodell on draft day said, " with the 12th (or 22nd) pick of the NFL draft the Buffalo Bills pick Mike White? The horror!!! -
Patriots covet Mike White per Mayock

I can just see Kraft and Belicheck laughing uncontrollably on draft day when the Bills take a 4th round prospect in the Top 15 because they thought they can get the jump on the all knowing Patriot front office after planting the poison seed. And you thought the EJ Manuel pick was ludicrous! -
Buffalo Bills license plates ? Do you?
billsbackto81 replied to mead107's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Got a Bills Vanity plate that sits upright on the rear window of my pick up. Front mounts aren't required in Florida. -
Bruuuuuuce!!!! #2 on all time best #1 picks

Imagine if he played in a 4-3! His numbers would have been even more obscene! All time favorite defensive player bar none. -
Craziest Draft you've ever seen?
billsbackto81 replied to BuffAlone's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2000 Draft. I was sitting next to Bill Polian and I was banging on the table for the Bills to pick this upstart QB from Michigan. Only me and Bill had a first round grade on him. He turned out ok. We ended up with Erik Flowers, Travaris Tillman, Corey Moore, Avion Black, Sammy Morris and Leif Larsen instead. -
Le’Veon Bell - worth $17 mill/yr?
billsbackto81 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why not? He's the best dual threat offensive player in the league. If an often injured WR whose posted (1) 1000 yard campaign in 4 seasons and barely is over 3k in his career can get 16 million a year then why shouldn't the best RB in football? From a team perspective, no. No GM would but he is the best at what he does and has proven it for years now. BTW: The WR's name sounds like Whammy Samkins. -
None of These QB's Should Get the Hype
billsbackto81 replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I think there are no obvious generational talents in this group it is the best QB stacked draft in quite a long time, since 04 maybe? I don't think any of them are worth mortgaging the farm since there are so many holes and the team is more than a QB away from scaring anyone. -
4th may be the highest we can go.
billsbackto81 replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No they don't, they have quite a few. 1, 4, 33, 35, 114, 150, 175. Has anyone looked at their roster lately? Allow me. Taylor and Darnold at QB. Coleman, Landry, Gordon WRs. Crowell, Johnson and quite possibly Barkley at RB. Ogbah, Garrett, Nassib, Peppers, Gaines on Defense. Njoku at TE and Bitonio on the OL. I'm sure I'm missing some decent players. By the time its said and done they will be LOADED!! for the upcoming season. Will they do anything? Well they are the Browns. They may have a similar turnaround like the Jags last season, maybe not as deep a run but I can see 7-8 wins. -
I can appreciate you liking the risk. The Bills have been an embarrassment in the NFL for a decade and a half (excluding the drought breaker). But if they give up all that collateral and whiff? OH NELLIE!!! But if they nail the pick and go into next season with sizeable cap space the future looks extremely bright. Roll the dice Beane, go for it.
