Gameday Thread Bills @ Cincy 1st Half
billsbackto81 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He could of led Jones on that! No confidence -
McD sure loves making fans shake their heads. Glenn active but not starting. Why not just sit him if your starting Dawkins anyway?Groy should be starting if Miller sits, but a healthy scratch? The run game has not been impressive and maybe McD is trying to spark Miller like he did in TC. Gaines out really hurts, AJ Green should have a big day. Why did they give Groy all that money matching the offer sheet? To watch?

If the bills lose this week, does your opinion change?
billsbackto81 replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
------------- So let me get this straight? Same old Bills if we lose to quite possibly the best 1-3 team in their house, down our #1 WR, #2 CB, starting LB and our lights out safety is ailing on top of that. I've seen enough from McD to still hold out hope if we lose tomorrow. Don't kid yourself if you think anyone saw what they've accomplished so far. Lack of quality depth along with injuries will be the speed bump this year. But I trust the process. Cincy's D is very good and we may not have enough O tomorrow. They'll do what every team has done so far. Take Shady away and have TT beat them. Gonna be a lot harder without Matthews and a struggling Jones. Their O has been a lot better since Lazor took over. Expect a close game and hopefully a Bills win. -
Is today "Nick Folk Day" in New England?

-----------------What are you talking about? Listen to the press conferences and read some articles. They buttoned everything up and Gilmore was fantastic!! (Sarcasm included) -

And people talk about Tyrods accuracy. Don't care what the final stat line says, Winston was hot garbage. I know his kicker sucked and his receivers dropped a few passes but he was off target all night missing and overthrowing WIDE OPEN targets. NE's D did not look any better. Martin was running it down their throat for a while. Shady will have a career day against them. Look for Dan Carpenter to be the new TB kicker and EJ Manuel to be the starting Oakland QB when they play the Bills. Book it! -

Winston was absolutely horrible last night. He was overthrowing and was so off target on so many open receivers, and that was with plenty of time to throw. Sure his kicker and the dropped passes weren't doing him any favors but he was flat out terrible and looked nothing like a franchise QB. I know players shouldn't look to other teams for help against certain rivals but how sweet would it have been to go into the Cincy with a shot at going 2 games up heading into the bye? Why can't we have nice things happen like that?
-
I don't know whether we win or lose against the Pats but Shady is gonna have a career day. Their Defense is PUTRID!!! Even with all the penalties they still cant stop the opponent.

Bills up to #3 in USA Today power rankings

Rams with McV Bills with McD Both 3-1 and proving the critics wrong (yes, it's early) and yet the 2 can't be more different. Rams with explosive offense and the Bills with the stifling D. I'm happy for the Rams success thus far even though they poached our homegrown WRs. What I'm having trouble wrapping my head around is all the love the Rams are getting compared to the Bills. The so called pundits are actually including them in the same category as the upper echelon teams. The Bills are getting the usual lets wait and see. When you consider the quality of opponent so far it really isn't close. The Bills have been the more impressive team. Rams beat the Colts, Niners and Cowboys giving up 9, 39, and 30 points. Losing to the Skins who scored 27 Bills beat the Jets, Broncos and Falcons giving up 12, 16 and 17 points. Losing to Carolina who scored 9 I know in some circles the Bills receive the props they deserve. Just tired of the old "its what the opponent did wrong" instead of "what the Bills did right". Many like the flying under the radar label. They feel the team plays better with a chip on the shoulder. It's all good. One thing I like is we are finally seeing the benefit of the call from some refs and that is a direct reflection of the discipline McD has instilled on this team. Without the rep of being a team with constant stupid penalties and refs are starting to swallow the whistle that much more in our favor. Either way I'm sure everyone is pleased with the direction and with the play thus far. And with a boatload of picks coming the future looks bright. GO BILLS!!

His hand may have been moving forward but he did not have control. That ball was coming out regardless. It's the right call. -

Tre White named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month
billsbackto81 replied to CWink07's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a great indication that this front office is heading in the right direction. To acquire a extra 1st rd pick and get a quality starting CB in the process is quite a statement. I love the vision being displayed by McD, he's got a plan and nothing is deterring it. Letting Gilmore go was the right move. The entire secondary has been quite impressive in this zone scheme. Tre, Poyer, Gaines are all McD moves. Too bad he has to work around that albatross of a contract Dareus has. Really looking forward to see what he does with all the draft picks. BTW: Not an indication of how a career turns out but there where 4 CBs taken ahead of White. Lattimore, Humphrey, Jackson and Conley. -

No challenge on Tolbert TD
billsbackto81 replied to OhDozeBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Denver would have expected a pass to DiMarco if he was in. Tolbert is not known for his pass catching as he proved again on Sunday. McD probably felt it wasn't worth possibly losing a timeout at that moment, wasn't it a 1st down play? If it was a 3rd down play I think it would've been challenged. -
One thing I really liked seeing on Sunday...

To me it's the discipline being displayed. You can really tell the players have bought in. The communication on the field is much improved as well. -

Uninspiring by Dennison. No "boot on the throat" attitude. Same old play not to lose mentality. -

QB question for next year
billsbackto81 replied to bills in oregon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Peterman may very well get his opportunity later in the season if TT and the Bills fall apart. He will get his shot to show his wares and how his skill set fits the scheme. One thing is certain, he will be on the team next year and TT will not. The Bills will draft one of the blue chippers next draft. Who? Eh, who knows. That QB will compete with Peterman for the opportunity to be the teams future hope at QB. Will they be able to get their man falling to them? Bills will most likely be in the 6th-10th pick. Depending on who picks in front of them, Darnold, Rosen and Allen may already be gone and if they desire one of those they will have to pony up. Dark horses like Mayfield, Jackson and Falk will most likely be available without a trade up. Other positions are also in dire need of addressing. LT: Glenn is falling apart and will never be healthy enough for a full season. WR: Weakest group on the team. LB: Humber, Alexander, Brown aren't gonna cut it.
