Draft gurus: Mekhi Becton vs Jerry Hughes?
thenorthremembers replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Incredibly hard to find. -
Is there any guy who the Bills have tried to replace harder than Levi Wallace? Vontae Davis, E.J. Gaines, Kevin Johnson, and now all Josh Norman. And he just continues to start when needed and play above average football for a lot less money.

Draft gurus: Mekhi Becton vs Jerry Hughes?
thenorthremembers replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he is a good player. He had a strip sack against Tannehill a few years back that was one of the most athletic plays I've ever seen a defender make, I just dont think he is dominate. This has more to do with Becton, who I think is going to be a good player, and what the Jets do to help him. If I had to put money on which defensive end has a better game against their tackle on Sunday, my money would be on Addison. -
Draft gurus: Mekhi Becton vs Jerry Hughes?
thenorthremembers replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont think its as cut and dry as a lot of people do. Becton is a good player and if he gets his hands on Hughes I am not sure Jerry has the size and strength to win that matchup. That makes Hughes one dimensional, and if he is limited to an outside speed rush then the Jets will be smart to run a lot of quick routes. I dont think Hughes has shown to be any kind of dominate player the last two years. He is a good player, but he often runs straight up the field without bending the corner well. I also imagine they will give Becton help. The real matchup to watch is Addison against Fant who is no real great at right tackle. -
BLM protest happening.....
thenorthremembers replied to Westside's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Your numbers would indicate nearly twenty percent of the fan base is disgusted enough by BLM and the NFLs jelly fish spine that they will refuse to watch the games when this garbage is going on. They may get a few back but nearly 5% is willing to stay away for good. Something for the NFL to pay attention to but given their real interest they will pull back on this stuff if the trend continues. If anyone thinks Goodell really supports anything but his 40 million dollar paycheck they are dreaming. -

Fortunate son? Talk about stupid
thenorthremembers replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So we have gotten that critical of the guy that we really attempt to denounce his choice of entrance music? A song he literally didnt choose, and maybe had paid very little attention to his entire life? Not everyone spends time diving head first into the meaning of song lyrics. Especially those written by a band who sued their own lead singer! Those capitalist jerks! -
Another reduction in staff at Entercom stations.
thenorthremembers replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Agreed. It's tough too because I actually enjoy some of the banter on WGR's shows compared to the hard and fast template some podcasts use on their daily shows, however I just cant do the endless commercials anymore. It seems like everytime I jump in the car and turn it to GR I am hearing a commercial. The cut ins in terms of the apps commercials are incredibly weird as you said above. -
Another reduction in staff at Entercom stations.

The radio.com app is the reason I stopped listening completely. Would listen throughout my work day through headphones, but with radio.com and the seemingly non-stop commercials I switched to podcasts almost exclusively. Kind of sad in a way, been a Howard Simon guy going back to his time at Empire. -
If the NFL and its players actually cared about black lives they would have started this years ago to protest black people killing one another. They would have done more to lift black lives besides their own out of poverty. A black man is 90% more likely to be killed by his own race than he is a cop but no one says anything about that. Over 65% of black homes are fatherless, anyone want to talk about that? People boo because they are sick of thr 24/7 pandering to a cause that cant see beyond their own nose. Wanna create real change? Start it in your own community. Stop protesting your consequences and start giving your kids a chance.

Question: Is Moss pushing Devin to start?
thenorthremembers replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the type of thing that happens when there is a lull in information to write about. A month ago Singletary was written about as a potential break out star who should be picked in the 1st round of fantasy drafts, and now he is being written about as a small, slow back with fumbling issues who is about to lose his job. Both things were complete hyperbole, and both were written without any real football being played. The reality of the situation is both Singletary and Moss will get a lot of carries here this year, and McDermott will go with the hot hand. Its a running back by committee here, but that doesnt really help with clicks does it. Same as last year there is no clear #1 back, whether Jerry Sullivan likes it or not. -
Lamar Miller visiting Buffalo
thenorthremembers replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man you guys are a tough crowd. It's funny how I hadn't heard a thing about Motor's fumbling issues until it suddenly became a media narrative sometime last week. Something that aligned with fantasy football drafts I am guessing. Anyways, yes he had some fumbling problems last year, but it wasnt an issue in the least in college. He had four fumbles on 714 carries in college. Saying that he suddenly is a fumbler because of his rookie season is like saying Peyton Manning had interception issues because he threw 28 his rookie season. I think everyone just needs to wait and see what happens. As far as the Dobbins thing, I am going to go ahead and give Beane the benefit of the doubt for now. -
ESPN Simulation Entire 2020 Season
thenorthremembers replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Their simulation is almost exactly what Joe Marino had on his podcast. I anticipate something similar have to be the Pats this year though. Id take it. -
Guess we will see how good Tua is minus three first round wideouts. I think he has a weak arm and is prone to injury but who knows. Thats why they play the games. Teams dont get trophies for being picked to win in the offseason. Just some guys opinion. Mine is the Pats are still the favorites until someone knocks them off.
