I am not disagreeing with you on what Milano deserves. I am just saying you can find ways to pay good players. Right now because of injuries I would pay Milano a penny over 9 million a year.
-
I mean you can go ahead and check the contracts at overthecap and spotrac and see for yourself that its not just conjecture. Shaq Thompson, who was playing the exact role Milano is in McDermott's defense got paid that exact amount of money. If Milano was healthy, and the cap stayed at 198.2, not impacted by COVID, I think they rush to resign him. I am sorry but this idea that you cant pay your top talent is crazy. Look at the Chiefs for instance, they have paid Mahomes, Watkins, Kelce, Chris Jones, Frank Clark, and Tyreek Hill. You pay your best players if you can circumvent the cap, which a lot of teams do by paying roster bonuses. Milano's issues isnt the money, its his availability.
-
This would be pretty eye opening. The idea is strengthened by the fact that Milano went to IR.

Milano is losing money by the week. In total he has played in 87% of games he was available to play in since he was drafted. On talent alone he probably is a $12 to $13 Million dollar a year linebacker, but no way you pay a guy who cant stay healthy that sort of money. With the cap projected at $175 Million, the Bills would be 22 Million over the cap after paying draft picks and adding practice squad players to the roster (Yes, I know only the top 50 players count against the cap. So 22 is a little high). With the cap so low, you're probably better off to try and draft players to replace guys like Milano and Daryl Williams. That said, I wouldnt offer Milano more than 8.9 million a year.

Agreed. I got Disney Plus for streaming some of the newer movies coming out because the theater wasnt an option. Kids were thrilled when some of the new movies came on and we could make an experience of something at home. Then Disney got even more greedy and you needed to have Disney+ Premium to watch the new movies. ESPN is the same way. Peyton's Places was a great show, but I sure as hell wasnt paying extra money to watch something when I already pay 200 a month for cable. The problem is greed, its never enough.

They need to scale back the amount of locations and channels they have. When I see something like ESPN Vegas, or ESPN LA and they are laying off 500 jobs it makes me wonder why they are so global. They also need to focus heavily on the history of sports, its something no one else is really doing. Try hard to capture the older demographic who doesnt want to spend time on their phones, and laptops watching youtube and scrolling through twitter for news. Cut back the production and length of the Pre-Games, and start focusing more on the post game aspects where you actually have something to talk about. Also dont need a two hour pre game show, its overboard. ESPN got bloated and boring. It's just the same vomit everyday. Their 30 for 30 is one of the best sports programs on. Go back to things like the Sport's Reporters, and NFL Matchup which focuses on insight in the game. ESPN went wrong when they started paying blowhards like Stephen A. Smith, Skip Bayless, and Colin Cowherd tons of money, when they know absolutely nothing about the actual games.

Diggs' trade is aging like a fine wine
thenorthremembers replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The last two weeks Diggs has shown the catch and run ability that the offense really needs. Thats something the offense has sorely missed, and something Beane said the Bills were going to go after. My hope is the contract doesnt become an issue, but he is obviously better than the 16th best wideout in the league. -
First time I saw it I was visiting PA with my Grandparents. I was a little confused by its existence as it essentially looks like Sausage living on the edge of reality. Hits the pallet ok, but not a fan of the aftertaste.

Week 10: Bills at Cardinals
thenorthremembers replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont think Nance will be available for football this weekend. He is usually the main guy on the Masters which is going on. -
What were you doing in 1993?
thenorthremembers replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tough year for me. I was ten, it was the year my Father passed away from a heart attack at 38. Guy was my best friend and hero, watched and learned so much sports with/from him. Learned a lot of tough lessons from his passing but God has blessed me ten fold since then. Now I have two sons to share those lessons with. My oldest called me five minutes after Sundays game and before I could say hello he yelled "I told you thatd beat the Seahawks" Looking through my Dads old year book cleaning up my garage couple weeks back and his senior quote was "Enjoy it, it goes too fast." I agree. Enjoy it and Go Bills! -
Stood out big time when I watched Ryan Finley at NC State. Was hoping the Bills may take a shot.
-
Oh man seriously! Keep that friend around for a very long time.
-
Just finished Belichick by Ian O'Connor. The guy is a complete piece of trash.
-
Hot Hands Perriman. Not sure how he is still in the league.
-
Told my kid on Saturday, I think the Jets are going to beat the Pats on Monday.
-
Ahh thought it was non throwing for Darnold as well. My bad.
-
Against the Chiefs. Same injury Josh has been playing through.
-
They meant NFC East.

I listened to the same replay. True gentleman and despite the Cancer a worker until the end. Truly a giant of his industry.
-
Agreed man. My 7:30 to 8 will never be the same.

Falcons waive Takk McKinley (claimed by Raiders)
thenorthremembers replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The best part about this is that McKinley thinks he is the big deal in the situation. Ten years from now the Atlanta Falcons will still be a billion dollar NFL franchise and no one will remember him. He is the guy who give his two weeks notice and says "You guys are going to miss me around here" and then the following Monday the new guy comes in and its business as usual. -
RIP Alex. Started watching the show at 9, and still watch it every night. I think I learned more from Jeopardy than I did in college.

Is the Bills window smaller than thought?
thenorthremembers replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're correct, except for this will soon get into semantics. The Super Bowl was in 2019, but the league year was 2018. Although you'd still be correct because he made 22 million. Just expecting people to tell you Mahomes won the superbowl last year.
