My guess is they are saying they want him to compete for the TE3 role and keep him as insurance if we can't sign another TE in FA. So even if they declare failure, they still save $ when they cut him. Why don't you like cap savings???

Quinton Spain to re-sign with buffalo, 3 yr 15 million
Locomark replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am super psyched we got Spain at the price tag we got him at. I am not so sure this means Ford won't play guard. He was a PT'er last year and he may be again this year if the right RT comes along as a FA or pick. This still tells me all signs are pointing to all in on a trade up to get a premium WR. -

There is no one worth 22 at edge this year IMO.... -
Bills resign Spencer Long, Foster, and Levi

Foster is insurance. He has no way of making his roster this year unless we get major injuries. -
Name 3 FA WR who interest you...Go!

Living in Chicago, people here have watched enough Taylor Gabriel to give him to you for a giant bottle of Gatorade...Terrible acquisition by the Bears. I liked him with the Falcons but I would not want him with the Bills based on last year. -
That the Bills actually pull off a player for player trade either before the draft or as part of a move up in the draft.

2020 mock drafts/ fanspeak/ draft network

What site are you getting these from that it grades them? Also if our best choice at WR comes as People’s Jones than we blew this draft. He is a reach as a WR1. I would consider drafting him but not as my first WR. -

That’s a wild overpay IMO -
I am all against trading back this year. We need a premier WR1 and this is the draft to get 1. IMO trading back is less likely for us to get one of those top guys we covet. It will all be a much clearer picture in a few weeks when we see if we get a FA OT and DE. If we get both than we are all in on trading up for a two 2-3 WR IMO.

Internally there’s some love for Tee Higgins
Locomark replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watching his stride he reminds me of James Lofton. Big long strides but moving quickly. I like his ability to adjust to the ball in the air. He makes that young QB look good on a lot of underthrown or poorly thrown balls. -
Justin Jefferson should be our WR target at 22
Locomark replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First off to everyone saying he reminds them of Zay, this kid is wildly productive with LSU not East Carolina. He played tough competition in the SEC. Production in that conference matters. Ruggs and Higgins would be better pure outside choices but Jefferson could can play outside and inside. That was what Andre Reed did. I think we already learned that is not John Brown’s game so you need that Swiss Army knife positional WR that can line up anywhere. If we dont pick him, be assured the Pats will and he will kill us as their new weapon. -

This was the same Ralph that had no problem paying Chris Kelsey. The issue wasn’t when to pay them, it was who he wanted to pay. Ralph just got lucky that he had a great GM in the late 80s that made those decisions easy at that chunk of time. When not during that period he did make some awful contract decisions. -

No way Pats ever sign Rivers. Belicheat couldn’t deal with his inconsistency and tendency for picks. -
They needed to upgrade him to keep him from walking next year as a HC. If we sign a top pass rusher and get progress from Oliver, we could be top 3 easily and start putting perrenial pro bowlers out they every year. Imagine if our offense actually stays on the field ....

That Our Stadium is fine as it is.... -
Totally 100% disagree that Jeudy is the only trade up worth it. The value chart says you can get to 13 with giving up 22+2nd rounder only. If we snag our OT and DE in FA, why not? PFF compares...... JERRY JEUDY: ODELL BECKHAM JR. Jeudy’s testing numbers at the Combine didn’t really do justice to the way he moves on the football field — and neither did Beckham’s. They are both such sudden route runners with a level of body control few are capable of achieving. Don’t overthink the Alabama wideout. CEEDEE LAMB: DEANDRE HOPKINS Both Lamb and Hopkins have ball skills that are as good as it gets for the position. It’s not only the highlight-reel catches, but also the way they attack the ball in contested situations. Then, with the ball in their hands, both are likely to make multiple defenders miss on any given play. Hopkins had a little more strength coming out, while Lamb probably has a little more speed. HENRY RUGGS: SANTANA MOSS Moss was a blur coming out of Miami back in the day. Even surrounded by speed, Moss always looked like he was playing in fast forward. He went on to have multiple 1,000-yard seasons for the Jets and Redskins, but his skill set was one that’s only grown in value as passing offenses have evolved. The speed at 4.3 — or in Ruggs’ case, sub-4.3 — plays at any level when it comes paired with legit hands like both possess. Do you really think we will get one of these 3 comparables in the 2nd or 3rd round ??? Only we we get lucky!
-
They can easily move up to 11-14 to get one of them with the Bevy of QB and OL that will be going early. It will just take the 2nd rounder. It all requires us to sign a quality edge or OL in FA to want to give up that other premium pick. Something I would do for a top WR1 at a cheap cost control for 5 years. One of those 3 should be there before Denver picks.

Chase Claypool- I know you want to talk about him
Locomark replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Claypool is going to be a workout special who looks better than he will on the field or be one of those great hybrid TE types. His tape does NOT look good for a WR. Not great separation or route running. If someone turns him into Gronk, that is his best hope but he needs 30 more pounds.....5th rounder
