Obviously people at the Buffalo News don’t read Twitter much. It usually is negative and can often be an extreme viewpoint. Very few people hang their hat on threats over Twitter because of the current 100’s of daily social and political threats that make it seem being an ahole is now acceptable. It is not. I am sure Cody got thousands of positive comments over the course of the year so one stupid psycho should not be enough for an article to glorify it.

Locker Room Cleanout - interviews

$10+ guaranteed is a no for me. $7 million with $ 3million in incentives is ok. He may never have this year again and he is 27. -
I wonder what the odds of converting a 4th and 27 in a playoff game is ?? 2% or less? Now what are the odds of our defense forcing a 3 and out on a possession inside the 10? Even if it were only 30%, it is the logical call with our level of defensive prowess. Isn’ t a coach supposed to do whatever gives you the best chance to win? So theoretically say we punted out at the 5 and they punted from the 13..... Worst 3 and out a 45 yard net. We would have been 28 yards away from the same kick we made. Best case we could have been starting on their side of the field with an actual chance to win the game in regulation McD need to study his big game tape in the offseason and figure out why he gets out-coached in the big games. Next year I want to play for the division and a bye. Than means out-coaching a couple of the following games: KC, the Titans, and the Pats.

I would rather they go RD1 only if they can get AJ Green in a prove it deal due to his injury. That way you get a cheap but proven commodity and can get a quality prospect in the 2nd. It all depends on how FA shakes out.

Lamb would be a guy they move up for. I just can’t see Jeudy ever getting out of the top 7-8 picks.

Locker Room Cleanout - interviews

I thought the most interesting was Phillips. His response of “I love it here but it is up to them” is clearly a way of saying what his agent told him to say. That tells me he will go in with some over the top number because of this year’s sack total. I love his fire but if he wants Star L money he is gone because we need to be smart in allocating resources. We went to the mat to keep him here and give him a role, now let’s see if he will give us a fair contract with incentives that is in line with his real value. -
Since you are talking about superstition, I am clearly to blame for yesterday. I took off my Circle the wagons shirt about midway through the third quarter yesterday to get dressed up for a dinner party we were hosting after the game. That shirt was 4 3/4-0 this year as I bought it in Buffalo The day before the home opener. Clearly I affected the universe.

2019 Re-Draft: Cody Ford vs DK Metcalf
Locomark replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was always about Oliver early but Metcalf could have been had at top of 2nd. Ford was a reach just because of our desperation for a RT. I like to think it may have been our plan to move Ford inside after year 1 all along and target a RT in FA and that is why we signed Ty and only played Ford part time at RT. So I can’t judge this overall yet until a) I see how Cody does as a guard. And b) I see who draft in the first round as a WR GMs always look years ahead and they may have just liked this years’ WR draft class value better for round 1. Metcalf is really good but who is to say he will be better than any of the top 3-5 guys of 2020. -
I left WNY a few decades ago so I have seen as many road games as home games and it amazes me how the road games get attended more and more. Try a road trip. It’s fun and it’s funny to watch people in other cities react in shock to how many Bills fans they see. I live in Chicago and there are a few big backers bars here where a few blocks of Chicago looks like little Buffalo on Sundays.
-
I would be 100% in on Conklin for RT. You can move Cody inside and also hurt the Titans at the same time. He is a 25 year old top 5 RT. Now we can run right and outside. Hello 1300 yards for motor!!
-
My family had already talked about San Fran and Phoenix next year. I will wait until the schedule comes out to see what else I can make happen. It seems like Vegas would be the logical ultimate away game. So our average output...sad as it is
-
Is it just me or did Bills Mafia take attending road games to new heights? It seems like every game we had some large impact from our fans. Pretty amazing. I don’t ever remember that during our 90s glory years unless it was a regional game like Cleveland or Pittsburgh. Great job by all the road warriors !!!!

Did the offensive line really improve that much?

I wonder if they will do this also so they don’t have to sign Spain. Gives us even more money to spend on others. I found it interesting hearing the Morse cleanout interview where he said how good Spain was for him. We ran better left but I am just not sold on Spain and wouldn’t give him more than 2 years. -

I agree with this on the whole, especially Josh’s footwork. What I don’t agree with is Beasley’s consistency. I have been looking at him when I rewatch games. He doesn’t win as many one in one matchups as you think. On a 5 yard route you need to win immediately and often. Yesterday he rarely was open and that has been true in many of the last few weeks. A quick pass can’t require you to make 3 basketball moves to get open. So how many times is Josh’s timing linked to too many jukes from Cole? -

RT is a major need. Ford does not appear to be the answer based on year 1 but OL isn’t always a short learning curve. We need to admit he isn’t a starting RT and move him to guard/swing tackle. -
Playoff #1 Bills @ Texans PostGame Thread

I rewatched many of those plays. It’s way oversimplified that those are all Josh. The backpedal sack was a really bad screen setup by the OL. One of the FG sacks was a complete whiff by our interior OL. We still need talent improvement and Josh improvement. Go back and watch Beasley for instance. He was rarely open and all his yardage was basically one play. You can’t throw when you don’t have guys open or when you have to keep your TE in because you have a mediocre RT or when your RB2 is no threat. I am not a Josh apologist. I see he had flaws but he is surrounded by offensive mediocrity. He gets one block in OT on that sweep and we are winners today. He made 2 3rd and long OT throws to get us that close. Our offense needs 6 more points a game and we are championship caliber. The same cast next year will probably yield 3 points just due to maturity and playing Singletary. Imagine if we get a WR1, a RB2, and a true RT. -
Playoff #1 Bills @ Texans PostGame Thread

I keep thinking about this play and you know this is also partially due to the rule changes in the hits to the QB. Normally old school a safety blitz you would ask your guy to go low due to their size to make sure the QB goes down. With the rule change you can’t. So you are forced to go higher which allows for those bounce off plays. It benefits us in the future because we have a big tough QB. Siran didn’t use great technique on that hit. The result could have been different but that was also a world class play by Watson. Add that play to the 3 guys not blocking the MLB on that wide open QB sweep in OT and those two plays exemplify that football is about “blocking and tackling.” -
Playoff #1 Bills @ Texans PostGame Thread

In retrospect the difference in most games comes down to a few plays. We had so many players and coaches leave plays on the field yesterday yet we were a few play away. I wasn’t pissed waking up today because yesterday confirmed what I already knew. We still have talent needs. Knox + 2 OL whiffing on that QB sweep block that would have set up the winning FG. Bills having a 3rd and 1 before kicking the tying FG and Daboll dials up our worst play a screen which we never execute and we bite it for a giant loss. Then McD goes for it on 4th and 23 instead of punting them inside the 10 and trusting the defense. We could have been playing for a win and not a tie in that last minute. Feliciano looking clueless at least 5-6 times against the exact same inside move when they would have Watt rush inside. Mainly going untouched most of the time. John Brown’s non attempt to drag his feet on a long pass instead doing a weird bunny hop and giving himself no chance to get even one foot down. If that is Diggs, it’s a catch. Duke Williams being targeted 10 times? Why ?? He Isn’t a WR1. He didn’t have any separation when he was targeted. Siran Neal getting cocky after his first sack blitzes from the other side and doesn’t use wrap up technique...ball game. Edmunds leaving plays all over the field from the two point conversion angle to various poor gap assignments to not recognizing Fells when he was lurking in his zone. Matt Milano missed at least 3 sacks or TFL by running past the QB or RB. Same problem he had with Lamar. Playing with speed but needs to play with control also. 3rd and 18 and Frazier dials up a soft zone. That never works out with a QB that can extend the play. Finally Josh Allen. Another fumble, almost two. The weird pitch was stupid which could have made it three. The tossup to DiMarco was stupid ( what play design has a slow FB running deep?) Running backward to avoid a sack in FG range is always stupid. The point is everyone left some big plays on the field and we still barely lost even though we have deficient talent at WR, RB2, LB, DE, and made some coaching errors. I AM CALM TODAY. WE WILL BE BACK AND BETTER NEXT YEAR, WIN THE AFC EAST, AND TEAMS WILL START TO FEAR US. i went to to the 89 game in Cleveland and this game is that moment for this team. The prime difference is this team is younger and we don’t have a QB who already had played 5 years of pro football. I am very proud of this team and excited about their future. -
Bills at Texans Playoff Game, Saturday 4:35 pm

It doesn’t matter because when the Texans play well it’s actually when they throw to the TE and when they let Watson play RPO like they are the Ravens offense. Let’s see if OBrien is smart enough to see what helped him win against KC. I hope he isn’t. Blue pants, white jerseys and each hand each carrying a can of whoop ass... -
As if the Bills have posted their gameplan........

2020 Pro Football Hall Of Fame Finalists list

Atwater, Boselli, Polamalu to me should be no brainers. They were all dominant. Hutchinson and Lynch would be my 2nd tier. Anyone else is a toss-up. 3 safeties certainly won’t happen. -
I get that the Pats are not what they used to be, but they are still the bully that everyone says is dead and then they always show up in the playoffs. There is zero way they lose this week IMO unless the wheels fall off and they give up a bunch of turnovers. This is Tannehill people!!! They will knock him around and he won’t be posting the stats that he had been. I figure he will be good for 3 turnovers. They may not beat KC but they will win at home. I hope I am wrong but betting against the Pats at home in the playoffs is not smart.

I am guessing they meant whether we win or not doesn’t matter in how we judge this season went. This season is already a success for the team in that our young players and many new players formed a better team than expected. The reality is we don’t have the talent to make a long playoff run but it sure would be fun to win a game or two. Never listen to Shoop. They are just awful. Maybe the worst post game commentary of any team in the league! -

Interesting stat...DiMarco has 41 yards receiving on the season and Robert “deep threat” Foster has 64.....glad he plays teams. He wins the annual McD waste of a roster spot award I am now calling the “Tolberts”
