  1. Allen and Edmunds look like franchise pillars. The defense with a player added here or could easily be tops in the league. The offense is clearly needed of an infusion of talent. The caliber of Beanes pro scouting will be put on full display. The offense needs major improvements in every position. Who Buffalo targets first will be intersting. Beane has showed agression in the past will he do that again? Their are some interesting guys to explore on the offensive side. Will they get in a bidding war over Bell? Will they investigate his past and consider Hunt? Would they bring in ultra diva Antonio Brown? I would not be surprised by any of those moved but I also would not expect them. Rb based off current trends can be easily upgraded on the third day of the draft. Oline, Wr, and Te is not as easy. Alot is scheme and offense dependent. How in sync is the coaching staff and Beane? What kind of run game should they utilize? Imo power fits Dawkins and Teller better so that should be where they go. Are the available FA suitable with that style? Foster and McKenzie are pleasant surprises. Jones is Jones. A guy who can high point the ball and make contested catches is desperately needed. Zay is not that guy. Williams has those traits but is a complete longshot. A guy with #1 potential is needed. A guy you can use to dictate coverage. Does the draft have that guy? Idk. I'm also confident the draft sites and gurus do not know neither. The spread offenses has made it hard to accurately evaluate Wr from college to pro. Similar to Oline.
  2. I expect a heavy offensive draft. Dont hate the idea of getting a blue chip front 7 defender in Rd1. My caveat is they have to be impactful bluechippers. I am cautious of both Clemson and Alabama's lineman prospects. Playing beside top talent it's hard to evaluate their dominance do to the increased 1 on 1 match ups vs double teams that other prospects routinely delt with. There are about 5 guys on defense, who if available at 9 I'm taking. If not one of them I am taking the best pass catcher or pass blocker in the draft.
  3. Center and both guards were terrible the majority of the year. Dawkins and Mills seemed to take a step backwards, imo from the poor play beside them. The stable of running backs were not that good either. McCoy lost his burst, the rest of the guys defense didn't worry about.
  4. With rules in place that protect QBs football is better gig than baseball if you play Qb. If drafted in the first 15 picks hes getting close to 20 mil guaranteed. Including playoffs you work 6 months out of the year vs 8 or 9 in baseball. 18 to 20 games a year vs 162. Travel 10 weekends the rest of the time you are home. If he was a Rb or Wr or Cb and was taking contact in practice and games with the possibilities of playing special teams than I would say baseball but as a Qb I dont think its really close.
  5. Better interior play, more talent running the ball.
  6. He is Blunt but with break away speed. His issues are all injury related. His running style is very aggressive and he takes too many unwarranted shots. With basically every draft eligible Rb from college declaring I would draft 2 starting with the 3rd rd on.
  7. Potential vs production. If Foles gets slapped around in NO it puts all this to sleep. If Foles takes the eagles to the NFC championship and beyond I think it's a real question to have. Regardless of opinion, the Wrs produce more under Foles and the team plays better. It's a massive if, but if Foles takes them to 2 consecutive superbowls and he is only 30 I trade Wentz. I would asked for 2 firsts and a player. Jacksonville 2 ones and Ramsey for Wentz.
  8. What's the answer to All these offenses that make their money off hitting on their scheme beaters? Creative defensive Co Ordinators who adjust their coverages week to week. McDermott is one of the better defense minds in the sports. The defense is simple but also multiple. Of all the hired coaches the one I'm most concerned about and who I think will be the best of the bunch is Kris Richards in Miami. He is another modern defensive coach who has a simple scheme but is team specific.
  9. If you are unable to win in college how are you going to win in the NFL? He has a good offense, but besides playcalling what does he bring to the table? Its the long of longshots. Sean McVay was in the NFL for 10 years before getting the Rams gig. I prefer McDermott to all these guys.
  10. I think Hollywood Brown becomes the top wr and possible top 10 pick. Tyreek Hill, Tarik Cohen, Deshaun Jackson all examples of small guys playing well. Imo an elite deep threat is a must with Allen at Qb. With all the protection granted to Wrs being 170-190 is not terrible if you are a fluid athlete with elite acceleration.
  11. They cant just throw money around. If a true impact player is on the market they have the ability to pay if needed. I expect the majority of the FA to be 3 to 4 years in the league that either under performed based off their potential or ones who look like over achievers based off system and percieved talent level. Alot of teams have money. Be aggressive for want you want. There is a fine line between Jeff Lowrey and Dan Snyder.
  12. The Jacksonville game. At this point Jacksonville had a sliver of hope. Their defense was at full strength. Allen missed the previous month and half. Allen was the most athletic player on the field vs the NFL's freakiest defense. The touchdown to Foster where Allen was hit on three sides and used a glitched in the Metrix to get it 50 yards down feild in the air stands out most as well.
  13. That style of Wr is needed with Allen. It's something the team is lacking. The question is can Willams make contested catches in the NFL. Allen throws a very good back shoulder fade, there is not a guy currently on the team who can routinely catch it. Also, pretty sure I know who the summer board darling is going to be.
  14. Talent at Rb, elite speed, and a athletic mismatch outside.
  15. A talented kid who humbles himself and gets a work ethic can become something special. Now this changes nothing of my offseason plans. Still bring in 2 vets in their mid 20's and draft 1 or 2.
  16. Because the Ravens made the playoffs. Many media members look at wins and that's it. Watching Jackson face this defense is a reminder of what the Bills were with Taylor. Good football team but have to win one way. Run the ball successfully, play lights out defense. Without either the Bill's and now Ravens cant win.
  17. Two 2's and I would consider it. In today's NFL I think a Wr can play longer. Get a solid 3 to 4 years isnt unrealistic.
  18. If Allen is the Qb is the outcome different? I think so. That's what gets me excited for next year. Improve the Oline and skill positions and Buffalo could be a legit contender.
  19. Going into year three, he has cleaned house, created a defense, and imo found a Qb. Year 3 he will for his first time have an expectation of winning. Point to Chicago and LAR as jumps the team needs to make. An improved offense and steady defense should be the best roster and team McDermott has had here.
  20. I'm sure its poor. A state of the art facility and money should change that.
  21. Yes but who they bring in and who they keep will be key. Every year teams throw money at lineman, doesnt always work out.
  22. Pretty obvious to me. When listening to people talking about Allen, the first question needs to be how many Bills games has he watched? The vast majority of media heads that watch as many games as they can come away glowing of Allen. Allen is the best Qb Buffalo has had in 20 years. How they attack this off season will determine the next 5 years.
  23. Imo you find a veteran possession Wr like William's, and you draft a deep threat.
  24. Stability in the Qb room. Barkley pretty solid back up. Possible spot starter if Allen goes down. Anderson is a player coach/ mentor. Tall guy, strong arm, so will have positive insight. Makes alot of sense all the way around. After Jets game team has confidence in Barkley. Because of Allen's style of play he could get an extended stretch of playing something I'm sure he wants.
  25. When I watch them, Metcalf consistently has seperation and Brown is making contested catches. That is a skill that Brown possesses but he will struggle in the NFL with his lack of separation imo. It may be a lazy comparison but I see him having alot of issues that plagues Treadwells career to this point.
