  1. Imo the deck is tacked against Jackson and Taylor. They start the year of slowly both are out imo. As much as they want to win I think the plan is for Taylor to start they lose he is benched for Mayfield and Hue is fired for Haley.
  2. Cutler is at the end of his career. It would be terrible they have to pull a Marrone and bring in Orton b/c Manuel is no good.
  3. I could be wrong but they are setting this up for Allen to just take the whole thing over and sooner rather than later. He seems to be a hard worker. IF he works as hard or harder than Mccarron and Petterman I think once they start OTA's and everyone on the teams sees the difference it will be only a matter of time. What the team will see? Quicker release, better at throwing the ball outside the numbers, when he has to throw 30 yard lasers, escape-ability, and an overall physical presence neither Peterman or McCarron carry. Irionic, Simms is out infront of this. He believes Allen was the most pro ready than any of the Qbs coming out.
  4. They start out 0-4 or 1-4 Jackson is fired and Haley takes over and probably becomes the head coach at the end of the season. When Hue is fired they bench Taylor for Mayfield.
  5. Hue Jackson has to win 6-7 plus games and show a large amount of improvement to stay the head coach. Taylor with a good run game and defense is the best way for Cleveland to do that. Mayfield will have to completely beat out Taylor. The biggest learning curve will be snaps under center and play action passes where he will be asked to turn his back to the defense. After watching Kizer and the offense turn the ball over multiple times in the redzone, it will have to take a crazy preseason to pass Taylor.
  6. I ment in terms of his ranking. I have seen multiple places rank Allen 1 or 2 in this draft in terms of Qbs.
  7. Besides the Chargers game he is not as terrible overall as people claim him to be. I would argue he could start on over half the leagues lines. Glenn hardly played and Dawkins stepped in perfectly for him. Richie and wood hurts but both were nearing the end. Bodine, Groy, Miller should fill those two positions and Tellar is a darkhouse to take over mid season. Now its not the cowboys ala 2016 but its also better than Seattles.
  8. Where were the analytics people hiding at when Taylor was top 10 Qb rating Qbr, completion %, has top 5 TD/int ratio? Allen will never be the most efficent qb because he will push the ball down the field. When Allen had 3 NFL fringe talents in his offense he held a better passer rating than Rosen. College stats. In the same offense scheme. In 15 less college games than Wentz, Allen threw for 50 less yards and 1 less TD. Sure SD st dominated Wentz sat alot of 4th quarters, but not 15 games worth or even 7. A small section of the media and fan base are going to be unbearable for Allens career. Who was it that said Allen was 10 for 12 but 1 for 3 on throws over 10 yards? Come on get over yourself. If you watched Allen play his innaccuracy were swing passes and short routes to the weakside of the play.
  9. I could be wrong but imo if Lamar had a good agent he goes top 15. If Jackson ran under 4.4 he goes top 10. There are things along the way that Jackson and his camp were inexperianced dealing with. I know one way of looking at agents, personal trainers is a leach to a cow. But a trainer and agent gets as many people as possible to get eyes on how easy he learns and how fantastic a kid a athlete he is. Seems he was overly sheltered. And again either the contract negotiation will be the hardest or easiest. Take that how you want it. Depends on the lawyer. How many NFL contracts has he work? Imo Jackson lost more money IE draft position and slotting more than what an agent and Qb coach cost. Rosen went 10, Barkley 2. Combine those 2 guys and you have Jacksons college production.
  10. 2 biggest needs in the team were Qb and Mike. They got 2 freak athletes with infinite potential. They got 2 guys with the best chance to be a hall of famer at either position. They hit on Allen and Edmunds Buffalo is a perenial comtender. Will they? Time will tell. Daboll building Allen, and Mcdermott building Edmunds. Lets see how it turns out. Imo both start week 1. Both do better than many think.
  11. Dez is a shell of himself. He runs 2 routes slants and fades. He is a me first guy. He will want his looks. Why do that to Allen? Id take Maclin. Atleast he has some speed to keep safties honest. He could be for Buffalo what Ginn was for Carolina.
  12. Say he is owed 14 mil over 2 years and is released. If signed by another team for 2 years 14 mil. The releasing team gets offset by the new team. Instead of player getting 28 over 2 years he gets the 14 over 2.
  13. So what happens if he fumbles the first snap? Throws multiple ints? Or is pretty on point with his accuracy?
  14. Its to avoid playing a guy to early. I get it. You have a room full of 25 to 30 year old millionaires. Many have families and you cant tell them their success and chance of being a champion rides on the shoulders of a 21 year old kid. If he is worthy of the 7th pick he comes in earns his spot and the team follows him. You cant fake that. When you do it ends terribly.
  15. Healthy Bejamin, more mature Jones should help the recieving room. The foundation to the offense is run the ball and Pa. Allen has expericance with that offense and has the ability to create a few big plays. He he can get 2 to 1 big plays vs turnovers the offense could be a surprise. Benjamin in a contract year may be the biggest option. If he clicks with Allen like he did with Cam look out.
  16. If Allen opens the season third on the depth chart this would be accurate. Mccarron and Peterman shouldnt be a very long positional battle if Allen is who I think he is. If Allen comes in works hard and picks up the offense I think the rest will be a wrap. They want Allen to prove it to the team he is the guy and earns it. Allen has done that his whole life and expects this to be no differant.
  17. Juat look at the bowl game. 150 3 tds first quarter run, run, pass punt the last 3 quarters.
  18. How to support a young Qb? Good running game, and good defense. Buffalo has plenty of both. In terms of competition the pressure is on Aj Mccarron. He has waited 4 years for this chance at earning a job. Any but a complete beat out goes to the rookie. Mccarron has to win in every area besides natural ability. The best case come TC the table should be set. If by that point Mccarron has not won it the transistion to Allen needs to happen. Long Qb battles never work. The Texans look foolish to string alomg the Savage experiance as long as they did. Preseason game 2 the Qb needs to settled and building for the season. Wentz and Wilson won their jobs in the spring. Hopefully, Allen does to. No fault to Mccarron, but if its a prize fight the longer it goes the worst we are and Allen has the judges in his pocket so the worst Aj is. Mccarron wins the job by knock out and that really it. I dont see that being the case.
  19. Makes sense that Wyoming had a good defense. Allen would get a lead and they would bleed the clock. In terms of numbers and remove efficency ratings. Compare Wentz and Allen overall career stats. In 15 less games in a similar offense Allen threw for 49 less yards and 1 fewer TD. His accuraccy and efficency will be discussed for the rest of his career here. Those that didnt like Taylor because he was risk adverse are going to be talking out of both sides of their mouths come football season. Allen is going to drive the ball down the field. He is going to put up yards, Tds and Ints. His Qb rating and Qbr are going to be less than Taylors was. Unlike, Manuel, Locker and Boller Allen is a natural thrower. The other guys where cluncky mechanics built throwers. Great athletes that do everything your supposed to do but not natural at it. Like a guy who has a bunch of golf training and swing coaches vs a guy with a natural swing. He picks up a ball and throws it its natural. There are some things to clean up to be more consistent but its not a full rebuild from the ground up like they all were.
  20. Crazy story. With player saftey and head trauma the fore front I dont see a team taking on that kind of risk. A concussion hard hit and he is laying on the turf it would be a terrible look.
  21. I think Lamars mother will be the easiest or hardest negotiating with for the Ravens.
  22. Many me included didnt think Dennison did that well last year. Mccoy and Ivory should be enough and productive to create a solid play action game. The defense imo will be much improved and will give the offense better feild position. I think the Oline is average. Not the worst in the NFL and also not the best. A healthy Benjamin going into a contract year should mean he is highly motivated and hopefully in fantastic shape. He can be a number 1 with a massive catch radius. Biggest questions are the other wrs. Will Zay become more effectice year 2 in singular role and position. Who is the slot? Kerley, Reily, Prohel, Mccloud? I expect a pass catcher or 2 brought in. By FA or trade. They need a wr with some speed and the group could be better than expected.
  23. No. Imo Ward is the most overrated player in the draft. Lattimore's success got Ward overdrafted. Hes an athlete not a great corner. White is a better all around player. He is the best defender on the roster. A couple second rounders are not more important than a top 10 corner.
