  1. Its a combination of factors. The overall viewership dip is most likely correlated to overall decrease in cable and satellite ownership. Now add in sloppy play on Thursday nights, and ugly matchups on Monday and their is a bit of a problem. When it comes to protesting and kneel i think there is also an effect. Those that are effected by people boycotting are those team with poor records. My father life long Browns fan and Vietnam veteran hasnt watch a game this year besides the game I took him to and another weekend I visited. Its enough of an issue where the NFL is in a bit of a panic over it.
  2. If the running game gets going Buffalo can cause alot problems for teams. Run the ball and defense is what matters most in November, December and than January in the AFC.
  3. I am the same. I dont have cable but overall the Thursday night and Monday night games have been poor match ups the last handful of year compared to the Sunday night games.
  4. Espn seems to have the less attractive TV deal with the NFL. From my understanding, CBS and FOX get to pick an AFC and NFC matchup each week. NBC gets the next pick with the ability to flip flop with either network later in the year. Then Thursday night and Monday night fight over the rest. Monday and Thursday night are tough because they are in the middle of the standard work week. Both run til midnight. For rating to improve Monday and Thursday the telecasts need to be creative so they avoid commerical, kick , commercial. They are at the point of over saturation. Thursday games are always sloppy because they don't have adequate time to prepare.
  5. By your logic its low percentage so why finish the game depending on it? You have time to know for certain how many scores you need.
  6. Actually, regardless of the success of Watson I do not think Watson he would be as successful here like he is in Houston. They have alot of weapons and a good defense. They were a playoff team the last 3 years without a QB. Taylor is a stop gap. With the draft picks and possible cap space I think Buffalo will be better suited for a QB change next year. Get more weapons and an overall better understanding of the system that is going to be running.
  7. There is def an argument to be made. For whatever reason it has seemed that the division has caught and surpassed in a number of categories outside of Brady. The Patriots have the worst Defense and worst running game in the divisions. I still expect for NE to win the division but it the closet in 10 years.
  8. It made me nervous when it was announced that now every replay call comes straight from the league office. There was no doubt the tuck role was to job Al Davis. With the poor ratings the league is having this year for all their games does it surprise anyone the that the Patriots play Atlanta Sunday night? The difference in the Patriots winning or losing that game? Instead of being in sole possession of first place, the Patriots would be in sole possession of last place. Looking up at the Jets, dolphins, and Bills all after thoughts in the league. The Falcons have not been great they can call it a superbowl hang over and what better way to turn around the season than beating first place NE?
  9. What is the difference between Taylor and Flutie? Taylor is more accurate and a better deep ball.
  10. Tinfoil hat time. What reason would the NFL have to overturn the play and ensure a Patriot win? With dropping ratings and coming off what looked like a subpar Sunday night game 0-5 Giants @ Denver. They would want NE in sole possession of first place going into Atlanta so they can pump up the Super Bowl rematch, The 3-3 Patriots in sole possession of last place in the AFC east who just lost to the Jets would not have been a good look. In a year of poor and dropping ratings they need a marquee matchup. Was the ball moving? Yes? Was there any definitive look or mashup of replays to review? No.
  11. Well he has atleast made it back. Though i do not see Beane or Mcdermott giving up anythiing of substance for him. He doesn't seem to fit the players they are targeting. Would he be ok with only a handful of targets? Now on the field I think he would be lethal down the field with Taylor. Wouldn't take long to get him acclimated. Go's or comebacks. He has the speed and size to be the deep threat the offense is looking for.
  12. Every year the league is quite muddled before thanksgiving. I will say though that most year the top 4 team are apparent. This year there are no clear teams, maybe the Eagles and Cheifs but even those teams I do not trust. One thing that will soon come into play. Defense and running the ball. If the running game starts to click Buffalo certainly can make a playoff run.
  13. Without Clay he is the go to guy. Jones isnt ready for that type of role.
  14. That is actually the smart play. If you need to go for 2 eventually you do it as early as possible so you know how to play the rest of the game. If you dont get it there you still have time to make up the difference. I would rather face Winston than Fitzpatrick. Fitz plays us well and I do not think we can win a shoot out.
  15. If Buffalo didnt think highly of Glenn he would not still be here. The trade never materialized because Seatle didnt give up enough.
  16. Kizer was not the reason they lost any games this year. The team is horrible. Literally, have watched parts of all their games, kizer moved the the team up and down the field. Inside the redzone they were a dumpster fire. Eveyone not just the QB. Kickers missing chip shot. Wrs having balls hit them in the chest and bouncing into defenders hands for pick six. Crowell get a pitch that he bobbles drops kicks defense recovers. All of these were proceeded by a good play by Kizer.
  17. That call that took away the score and ruled the Jets fumbled out of the endzone was terrible. No way there was enough to overturn that. The Pats were protected today. The Pats are not much better than Buffalo if at all. If the Bills play well out of the bye, which I think they will. They can contend for the division.
  18. Glenn at RT. Attack his side with outside zone and power. Help the run game. Get that going it wont matter who plays WR or TE.
  19. Talent really is the great equalizer. Mcdermott doesnt seem like a guy to hold a grudge. If coming off the Bye Daures dominated like he can he would be here and he would play more. Its not like Daures is out of hope or the ship is sailed. Sure its getting close. Mcdermott would much rather have a mature dominate Daures than a guy he has to cut because he isnt living up to his contract.
  20. Too much time for Bill to prepare. He is killer out of bye and long weeks. They blow out NYJ. They will man up the jets wr and blitz Mccown into submission. Brady will get hit alot but still put 30 + on the board and Monday Ne will be considered superbowl favorites again.
  21. Glenn at RT may be the best move the team could make to help the Oline and offense. I think Glenn is the teams best tackle. But here is the question. Who is better Dawkins at LT or Mills at RT? I think its pretty obvious and most Bills fans would agree that Dawkins is doing better at LT than Mills is at RT. Than the next question is mid season who transitions to RT quicker and with more effectiveness Dawkins or Glenn? Imo with Dawkins a rookie keep him at the position that is he is more comfortable at and gives him the best chance to play well. Glenn is a pro and I believe would be a dominant RT. Schematically, the LT vs RT days are dead. Defenses attack the weaker player and teams need 2 tackles not a franchise LT and run grading RT.
  22. Production and play he is not offering a vast improvement over Thornton. He is head to shoulders more talent than anyone on the dline and probably on the roster. At this point McDermott is getting aggressive and trying to do whatever he can to get that potential out of Daures. If he doesn't start playing the way Mcdermott wants his hightest paid player to play he will not be here next season. Its very possible he will never be the same guy he was pre contract. That nothing against Daures just reality.
  23. He has a ways to go. Still think he has the talent and ability to be a #1 Wr. Putting those expectations on a rookie from a small school has not been the smartest of moves thus far. Historically, Wrs take a while to adjust. Some of the best Wrs ever have had drop issues early on. Comes down to Jones getting through it and succeeding.
  24. He has not played well or at a minimum nowhere near his potential. You cant play a guy who is half asing it because he is paid the most.
  25. I would bring him in. They are very thin at Linebaker.
