  1. Kroft is basically a 1 year contract without any penalty. Morse is larger but essentially a 3 year deal. He was the top 1 or 2 centers on the market depending who you ask. Paradis the other center had just as many injury concerns too. They are a little under 4 weeks away. In 2 weeks nothing changes? Now I'm concerned. Not yet. Plenty of time to get reps with Allen and the Oline.
  2. It happens every couple of years. Usually, dlineman. Heck offensive line even. Football is not as overly complex as some think or make it out to be. He showed good vision, and burst to pull off that run. That's about 60% of playing running back. If he can hold onto the ball and take contact well he will be fine.
  3. Bold to think. When's the last time Buffalo had a guy break off a long TD run in the preseason? Fred Jackson? It's been a while I feel like. Simplistic schemes and plays. Wade showed alot of ability. He looks like the most explosive back on the roster. 1 carry so who knows. He has my attention. Hes not a gimmick or waste of time. The coaching, the leaders on the team need to get him to a level of understanding. He shows more throughout the preseason I would find a way to put him on the team. If he can catch, I would consider keeping 5 or 6 Wrs. Now I would give him more carries the next couple of games to see how he handles contact. He does that well color me intrigued.
  4. With Fords ability to move. I could see see them keep 3. You always move Ford to RT if Nyske goes down and have Feliciano or Long play guard. I think they keep 8 to 9 lineman. Tellar would be the 9th.
  5. Linebaker is a position imo that will show in games not practice. He makes some special team tackles and is around the ball while he is in he probably makes the 53. Behind Malano is nothing. Joseph shows a pulse he is on the roster.
  6. McCoy will be the guy week 1. After that? Who is running the best? Gore will be a guy that will make the most of ever carry. The dark horse is Singletary. If he get some big runs McCoy will be in alot of trouble if he has slowed down even slightly.
  7. Wasnt convicted. He was the best player in franchise history.
  8. I agree. Depending on how the trip to Carolina goes, that could be the team building/bonding lost by training at home. The recovery and everything they have in place makes too much sense not to utilize it this time of the year. The team is dealing with bumps and bruises now. Having D3 facilities vs state of the art is really a no brainer.
  9. I understand where he stands on the roster in terms depth chart. I think in terms of packages and matchup he is an interesting guy to watch. Yeldon, 4th or 5th Te, 6th Wr, extra lineman. Special teams and game impact with decide who makes it.
  10. They keep 5 to slip Mccould on P.S. TE, Rb and Oline is going to impact the WR number. McCoy, Gore, Singletary, and Yeldon all could make the 53 and 46, that happens you go with 5 Wrs.
  11. I assume it's more to do with the fact they are reporting plays and concepts being practiced. Its nieve and presumptuous to think they are the only ones who can see what kind of plays and concepts being practiced. Breaking down the formation and actual concept in the method they are imo breaks an unwritten rule is journalism. They have an extra level of access at St. John Fisher vs practices at OBD. Actually, treating it like scouting will move them to moving from the training camp methodology and practicing in a controlled environment at OBD. If the trip to Carolina goes well imo that will be the new training camp move. 1 week travel as a team practice vs an opposing team. They have a state of the art recovery and rehabilitation during the most intense practicing it sits empty and not used. It wont take much for them decide to practice at home for training camp.
  12. After a week of T.C. I think the offense is farther along than I expected. The Oline is Dawkins, Spain, Morse, open, Ford or Nyske. The best 5 move Ford to LG play Nyske at RT have Waddle be the swing tackle. I think they will be stubborn because of Fords potential at RT and keep him there.
  13. Not in pads, doing redzone work is really more mental than anything else. The stats dont matter. 1 int and some tipped passes are to be expected in practice. Look forward to seeing them progress through the summer and preseason. Looks like dawkins spain morse and ford are the lineman. I think the best 5 is dawkins, spain morse ford Nyske. Feliciano and Long are liabilities.
  14. I look at like there are buyers and sellers. If Buffalo makes a move it will be an addition. Beane said pre and post draft they have the cap space available if a premier talent comes available. I dont see Beane in a make or break year sell a player for a day 2 pick.
  15. Carter is a move TE. Mildly athletic with a decent frame. With how they want to use the TE they need bodies to practice the formations.
  16. Seen nothing, heard nothing. The whole story of everyone in the organization talking him into signing with them post draft makes me believe they are high on him.
  17. In modern day NFL short area quickness is more important than size for a WR. Williams is the longest of long shots. Sills seems to have a leg up on him for the tall catch radius guy. Pre season could change things but the look of the passing game last lends me to believe speed and quickness is king.
  18. Nyske is plan B at OT. Dawkins and Ford are plan A. Dawkins and Ford could bookend for years. Nyske can slide in at either spot no problem. Imo he is a better pass blocker than both. Dawkins and Ford have the run blocking style they want.
  19. Just like with Mack. The new team has a window to negotiate. A trade wont happen without a contract in place. Too early yet. Jaguars with Foles think they are a superbowl contender and wont give up on a talented rusher. Same goes for Houston. You need a team in turmoil. Low key I would look into Chandler Jones in AZ. They will be poor and he makes a lot of money.
  20. Yes. Daboll will be more imaginative with his personal and alignments than Garrett. 2 TEs. Knox and Croom? Knox and Kraft? I dont expect Buffalo to line up in a mirror formation without motion and snap the ball. I think you will see Knox and Croom lined up all over the formation. Yes its 21 personal and they will find ways to get Beasley in a slot position at snap. Look and NE. Dabolls breeding ground. From Troy Smith to Deon Branch to Wes Welker to Ammendola to Julian Edleman. They find ways to get their slot Wr in a favorable match up and move him to ensure he has a free release. Beasley is going to see this alot.
  21. Foster is going to see the feild plenty. The current practice rep number is frustrating but come sundays his snap count wont be much different than Brown's. Foster and Brown need to be staggered for the most part during games. Having the ability to press a defense deep all game stresses a defense and will also tire it out. Most teams have only 2 guys who they are really comfortable with outside. Running Brown 50 to 75 yards then subbing Foster for him will be a problem for defensive Coordinators and cornerbacks alike. Teams dont often sub Dbs so running a few Wrs at them makes sense. Situations when Buffalo goes 4 Wrs Foster certainly will be the guy. Foster catches 5 passes for 100 yards does it matter where he is on the depth chart? Or when he entered the game?
  22. If Ray Ray plays teams and keeps improving he is the final Wr... 1 Brown 2 Beasley 3 Jones 4 Foster 5 Roberts. Besides Beasley I think they want someone who can spell him at times. They liked McCloud enough to keep him even through his rocky rookie season. Dabol and McDermott have been very complimentary of him. He is who they would like to have. If Mccloud makes a few special team plays in preseason without the ball he makes it. McKenzie is the second option and Cam Phillips is the third. Sills and Williams are long shots with Brown, Jones, Foster and Roberts ahead of them on the outside. They would need to be preseason all stars.
  23. I think his pre draft work outs were impacted by his in season work load. He never had time to recover. Get him in a professional athlete weight program will do wonders. Plus being paired with McCoy and Gore he will learn how to properly recover. Barring any unforeseen I think Singeltary has a Cohen type of impact for the offense. 10 to 15 touches a game and infuses some electric plays to the offense.
  24. Instead of a rotation, I think it's better to let a players performance dictate their roster placement. If a player is excelling with the 2's give him looks with the ones. If a player is struggling or not performing at a considerable difference then give them practice rotation. Wholesale changes across positional groups holds the team back. On the offensive line it's not as easy as playing the best 5 but the best 5 together.
  25. Nothing I have read about the first 4 practices indicates Barkley is close to Allen in terms of play or command.
