Your final prediction: Who will the Bills draft in round 1
Mat68 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dk Metcalf -
Look Out for Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State in Rd 2
Mat68 replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is like neither player. It's a huge projection to say he is a deep threat. A more fluid Perxy Harvin. Underneath and intermediate would be deadly. Also, screens, jet sweeps. Basically, McKenzie last years role with elite athleticism, world class speed and 2 inches taller, 20 pounds heavier. -
Marquise Brown vs. Tavon Austin
Mat68 replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Coming out Austin was a utility player in college. Brown has been a traditional Wr for the most part. I think it's a lazy comparison due to his size. Deshaun Jackson is a more accurate one due to the style of play and frame. -
Trace McSorley, Penn St - late round pick/position change?
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They took 2 players to play slot. Neither worked out. I think Mccloud is cut before training probably after rookie camp. -
Trace McSorley, Penn St - late round pick/position change?
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. I'm a Penn St fan and he has been borderline terrible since his Sophomore year. The Oline has improved, his Wr option have been good, the running game has been fantastic, he is a 50% passer. Solid college Qb his accuracy and arm strength are below average and he has a small frame. I think he is a camp arm. Possible P.S option for a team if they are a spread style team. If Arizona does go Murray he would make alot of sense as a back up. He has stated that he is only a QB. Edelman and others wanted to be professional football players. Seems like Mcsorley wants to be a pro Qb. If he went to the combine and did the wrs drills and caught passes the Edelman arguement would be fine. Hes done nothing of the sort. -

I wouldn't hate it. Doubt he lasts that long. I think he goes top 20. Too fluid an athlete not to be drafted high. -
OL Jonah Williams takes it to another level.
Mat68 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Williams is not Joe Thomas. At LT he is not a sure upgrade over Dawkins. An elite skill player or average Olineman? I dont care what position Buffalo goes. Inside the top 10 with 2 possible QBs you can find better than average starter. -

What was Joe Thomas impact on the Browns franchise. What was Walter Jones impact for Seatle? But again it's also a team sport. One player not matter how good doesnt change a lot. -
The comp is simple. Moss is really the only wr that height who tracks the deep ball like a Deshaun Jackson size guy. Late speed and acceleration. Metcalf shows that same rare trait. Moss top 3 all time and that's crazy to say the two names beside each other. But Metcalfs athletic comp and playing style is that. In terms of Ginn? He made his money as a return man and gadget player. Not a guy who consistently won outside.

The Browns were the worst team in football for the vast majority of his career. The point is that a Hall of Fame OT doesnt effect the franchise and team as much as other positions can. Now it's a team sport so 1 player doesnt have a large contribution to the overall success expect for QB, and even they are leveraged by coaching blocking and pass catchers. -
What kind of passing attack will Buffalo utilize? What are the QBs strengths? The Bill's were most effective the last part of the year using a vertical passing attack. With the addition of Brown and invest in the Oline I am assuming that will continue to be a large element. Allen strength is attacking the outer third of the feild. He also excels at the intermediate to deep throws. Of all the Wrs available DK Metcalf fits both perfectly as a player day 1. I think the fit is too good to pass up. Add in his work ethic, NFL bloodlines, I think he is a slam dunk.
-
The best Wr in football last year, OBJ, AB, and Hopkins were not sure fire top of teams boards. Metcalf has elite potential, and at minimum he is an impact rookie from a deep threat and Redzone threat role in the offense. The Bill's are a vertical heavy offense so Metcalf fits what they want to do. His ability in the redzone is a real need for the offense aswell. If he is available and Buffalo passes I would be shocked.
-
I could see him as a throw in for a possible trade. I think his value will be low and chance of trade is awell.
-
The reason many are high on Metcalf, me included, he will have an immediate impact and role. He has a long way to go before he is Julio Jones or Calvin Johnson but that is what you are chasing. Nothing else he is a dynamic deep threat to enhance Buffalos vertical passing attack as a rookie. In the Redzone he can create space and high point the ball better than any other wr on the roster. Those 2 things he already does and are important with Allen at Qb. Buffalo needs to get him on a better weight and movement regimen. Lose some mass add some fluidity not alot but a little shift could help. Sharpen his route running and look out. At 9 DK Metcalf would give Buffalo a pretty scary offense with 2 deep threats being able to be on the feild at all times, with Brown, Foster, Metcalf rotating.

Your response and the quoted portion mentioned Clowney. At this point KC wanted to move on from ford after the playoff blunder. If he doesnt line up terribly Offside KC advances to the superbowl. Clark is a more disruptive player than Ford or Houston, with their departure they had a big need for a edge rusher.
-
Your quoting a GM who traded their 17th pick Haha. Swap 1s for Clowney. Pick the best pass catcher. Fant, Metcalf or Butler. That would be a big win.
-
Having a guy in the the backfield who can block or catch is a big get for the growth of Allen. Yeldon imo could be a poor man's Bell in a sense. Move him around the formation and get him the ball underneath vs LB. Daboll is trying to add some easy throws for Allen underneath. Beasly for the slot, running the routes Welker, Edelman and Amendola ran. Yeldon in a James White type role makes sense too.

I dont know how much upside Jonah Williams has left. Alamaba coach the Oline well. He already seems to get it mentally, physically he is not dominating and plays with good technique and footwork. He sounds like a guy who has reached his ceiling to me. What does that looks like as an NFL lineman? Idk probably ok most the time but can get overwhelmed by the elite guys. That is not the kind of pick I want in the top 10. -
The tackle he played with is an athletic freak. Imo Lawerence is the least talked about tackle but may go earlier than some think. I think Lawrence goes before Wilkins. Honestly, it's a numbers game aswell. Wilkins is a first rd talent at DT. There are multiple guys on the defense interior, depending what defense you run Wilkins could be the 5th.

Can the Bills wait past the 3rd Rd for a RB ?
Mat68 replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I expect they wait til after the draft. If they dont get a guy they like I think they sign him. -
Bills have interest in Seattle DE Frank Clark
Mat68 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think its Clark or Clowney if the elite defenders are gone. I would offer swapping 1s maybe throw in one of the extra day 3 picks. I think Clowney is a better match with Hughes. I think Hughes and Clark are similar players. Clowney brings more Power and can help sure up the run defense. Once he is out of Watts shadow and can get more control of where and who he lines up against on pass rushing situations his numbers will sky rocket. -

With the Yeldon visit they are waiting til rd 4. -
This is super B.S season. It's all lies. These are all leaks from teams maneuvering. The only team that has showed some cards are Oakland. They kicked our all their scouts til the draft. They are trading up. From where to who that's another thing.
