No idea where that's coming from. The Chicago preseason game? They invested heavily in the D this offseason. I think this could be one of our strongest D's in awhile.
-
Late October for his return? That seems extreme, but we don't really have any good updates on that. I hope that's not the case.
-
Some were pretty high on Strong around draft time. I saw a few "steal" comments from people who had watched him over his college career. Of course, there are probably those comments for a lot of players, but he seems to have a great skillset.
-
We drafted a corner in the 1st round. A 1st round corner SHOULD start. Benford, a 1st rounder & Johnson might be a very good group. It's too early to be deeming them "mediocre."
-
Has he been that bad? I really liked how he played for us in his 1st stint. He got burned now & again, but he was physical & a sure tackler.
-
Obviously, not great news. Even if it's not serious, "walking gingerly" would seem to indicate there will at least be some recovery time involved at minimum. We did draft 2 CB's. Hopefully someone can step of if Tre misses significant time.

I loved how Carter looked before he was injured last year. Has he played poorly in the preseason games?

McDermott - "Still looking for that other safety"
Success replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm dumbfounded by the whole discussion. We have no idea what we have w/ Bishop yet. McDermott is doing his thing & trying to motivate, and I think he's trying in his own way to acknowledge the concern that the fanbase has about the position. -
I think there is a decent enough chance to catch the Jays. Their schedule is tougher the rest of the way, and they've been slipping while the Yankees seem to finally be gaining some steam again. Excited about the home stretch.
-
This one has real "bump" potential as the season progresses.
-
No one was playing. The alarming thing was how undisciplined and unready they looked - that's a bit hard to figure out, since that's one of the things I think McDermott does very well. But reading anything significant into last night's game is futile. It's essentially meaningless. We could blow the Ravens out in a couple of weeks for all we know right now, and Bishop & Rapp could turn out to be a top 10 safety tandem.
-
I think there is a lot of overreaction going on right now. Cole Bishop is just coming back from injury - we don't know what we have in him yet, but it sounds like he just missed an early coverage last night and otherwise didn't play much. He's a high rounder, and we need to let him play. Rapp on the other side is very reliable.

Name something you never did most people have

I never joined Facebook. There. I said it. -
Kelly didn't get the Bills to the SB until he was 30, and then went to 4 in a row. I have this weird feeling about history repeating, but Allen will start when he's 29, go to 4 in a row, and win them all. And then cap it all w/ a 5th at some point in his remaining career - giving us a winning 5-4 record in the big game. And man, will I love to be hated, and be the league's villain.
-
This is a big part of the reason that I truly cannot stand people saying Mahomes is better than Allen because of rings. It's a team game. What I see in KC is guys MAKING those plays, and receivers like MVS suddenly having one of their best games against us. Allen's teammates have really let him down, for the most part. It's the opposite in KC.

Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL
Success replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall
We badly need a true disruptor. I think Rousseau could take that step, and maybe Bosa if he's healthy. But I'm looking forward to seeing this guy play. -
Cook signed👀 - 4 / 48 / 30 mil guaranteed

This was a good decision, and a good deal for both sides. -
Man, let's just win a Super Bowl so everyone can be like, 'McDermott & Beane are awesome!'

This is what drives me crazy. Even as a viewer, I can feel the team & coaching getting tighter as games go along. The Ravens last year was the perfect example - that shouldn't have been that close. We were controlling that game. On that last drive, we went complete prevent, and they got downfield in a jiffy. But I agree he's good for our culture, and would even say that he's good at week to week gameplans. He can be a good HC. The one thing I wish he would do is give any DC we have full reign - let the DC come up w/ his own schemes and strategy, and let the DC make their own calls during the game.

Do the Bills Even Have a Hated Division Rival?
Success replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah - that run they had, while we were in our drought, is still pretty fresh for me. Their fans keep the hate alive w/ their persistent arrogance & sense of entitlement. Even when the Pats are bad, as they have been, that's a game that I always have great interest in. -
Any Yankees fans in the house? The coaching/managing similarities are pretty remarkable. Boone and McDermott both have a generational talent and all-time player, and have had that for 7+ years. Both of their owners spend as much or more than most other teams, and have built decent enough rosters around Judge & Allen. And both Boone & McDermott keep getting to the playoffs, sometimes making a run, but never closing the deal. It's a conundrum. You know what you have with both coaches - neither is great, but both are certainly competent, and making a change is one of those high risk/reward situations. And if the risk doesn't pay off, you really lose the last prime years of both stars.

Wasn't Forrest supposed to be a potential starter?

I completely get the argument that as a RB, Cook has to maximize his money. But man, this is one aspect of sports that I cannot stand. It just always screams "diva," no matter how it's handled. And I don't think he's handling this well.
