  1. It's not just you. And it started w/ that 4th down in the KC game last year. That 1st down Josh made was clear & obvious. Maybe they didn't have a great angle, but that could have been a game-changing spot if we hadn't won.
  2. I was kind of hoping someone would start this discussion. Overall, I don't think our D is as bad as it looked last night. But the safety position was glaring. I'm not sure if we can just stand pat there. I kind of hope they're considering Peppers right now.
  3. It was one of those games where we felt so outclassed for most of it that it was easy to settle into "it's just game 1 - at least the rest of the division lost" mode. Like most, I had basically given up on getting a W. I was hoping most of the 2nd half that they could just make it respectable. But it was always on my mind that we stayed within 2 scores the whole time, and that we had the ability to make up that gap. I had faith in Allen & the O to do that. I didn't have the same faith in the defense to get the stops. It was Oliver causing that fumble that turned the game.
  4. I kept thinking last night that we should sign Peppers. That unit really struggled, imo.
  5. He had pretty much the exact game I was hoping to see from him this season. He became a #1 last night.
  6. Some were wondering why we kept Coddrington on the roster. He's really one of the more exciting returners we've had over the years. That was a big play to start the game yesterday.
  7. This was the one negative from yesterday. I shouldn't be embarrassed about what a random fan does, but I was. I just don't know how any fan of the game could behave that way.
  8. I didn't realize in real time how close a Raven was to blocking that kick at the end. He knew it, too - he put his head in his hands right after he just missed it. Whew. What a game.
  9. It really became a thing last year w/ both fanbases because or the MVP race. It's silly, imo. Both guys are simply amazing. I don't think fans of either team would trade their guy for the other.
  10. I wouldn't agree w/ the characterization of "a lot." If you read through the comments on this thread, most give Lamar a lot of respect & credit. I still don't know how we won tonight.
  11. A game like that can give a team a LOT of confidence. They will feel like they're never out of a game.
  12. We finally won one of these. I'm still stunned. We are very privileged to be able to watch Josh Allen as our QB.
  13. I'll take Josh all day, every day. But Lamar Jackson is an absolute beast. If he wasn't our biggest competition, I'd love to watch him play as a football fan.
  14. It doesn't matter that he was pushed out of bounds?
  15. Most teams in the league have offensive HC's. If you have a defensive HC - it has to look better than this.
  16. Surprised by that from Bosa. Gotta be more disciplined against Jackson.
  17. Brady shouldn't forget that we have the league MVP.
  18. They could have, unless SF took him. Worthy was probably gonna be there if they didn't trade.
  19. It's cool that our game is the biggest one on the NFL's first Sunday, by a pretty wide margin. I kind of wish there were a few more interesting ones going on. The 4:00 slot has a couple, but the early games look like a snoozefest.
  20. The national discussion around this trade still annoys me. It's over 90% that both teams end up w/ the same player even without the trade.
  21. The "L" isn't that consequential. But I was more encouraged by how they looked - old & slow. Chris Jones didn't seem effective for large portions of the night. Their receiving corps isn't stellar to begin with, and now they might be without Rice & Worthy for awhile. Chargers receivers were getting open pretty easily. That's the most I have seen Mahomes have to carry that team. Yesterday looked more like the average Bills/Allen game than the well-oiled machine we have come to expect out of KC.
  22. It's just a game - but the Chiefs looked OLD, and slow. It wouldn't really shock me if they ended up w/ a WC this year.
  23. I could have done without this thread.
  24. Prater is as good a pickup as you could hope for, despite his age. Pretty reliable over the years, and we might try a few longer kicks w/ him in there.
  25. I've always thought that it would terrify the league if we decided not to have any kickers on the roster. Just go for it on 4th all the time, no matter where they are on the field. Not sure how it would work out, but it's a fun thought.
