I had higher hopes after 13 seconds - I thought that was the start of something big. Now, just give me one. I don't care if the Pats get 20. Give me 1 while Allen is still here.
-
It's unimaginable - but of course could happen. I'd have to believe at that point that they created football to make me miserable.

Hate to say this … but the Pats are effing good

You can't compare the eras. When the Pats had Brady, there was no division team that rose to the challenge, at all. You guys are so entitled. -

I'm still not buying in. The Bucs blew it today. They're definitely good, but are being hyped like a top-tier team - and they're just not that. This is a Commanders type of run they're having. "Back down to earth" will be on the menu at some point. Though, with the way we're playing, it might net them a division title this year. -
We'll probably win. The Bucs really aren't that good, and we'll be at home, coming off a brutal loss. We're not as bad as we showed today. It will be fool's gold that will get us somewhat excited again.

Sums it up for me. The drought was crazy. And I really stuck it out w/ this team during those years. This is supposed to be our reward for that. Getting a QB like Allen is something every fanbase dreams of. And we're just wasting it. It's too much, for any fan. I don't like how I'm feeling right now. I don't like what this game does to me emotionally. The only question that remains for me is whether I really have the capability of walking away. Can I just do something else on a Sunday, without checking my phone for scores all day, and not even checking to see if we won or lost? Probably not. It's a horrible addiction.

We literally need everyone to be healthy. That's part of the problem. Anyone know how Kincaid's injury is? Hamstrings can be tricky. If he misses more than a week or 2, it's a major problem. -
We could go on a run. But I'm not betting on it.

I relate quite a bit to this. I was around for the 4 SB losses. The "hope" to "disappointment" ratio since then is comically lopsided. Allen gave me a ton of hope - but today, I realized that this could easily be the end of his prime. He looked like a guy who had taken too many hits today, and who had carried a team on his own for too long. Life isn't supposed to be fair. Fans like me might never get to see a title, and it really makes me wonder why I invest so much time & emotion.

We're not the team most thought we were. Allen has always made us look better than we are. The roster outside of him is bottom 10 - AT BEST. I'm being generous there. -
We've seen this on the sidelines all season. Josh Allen - generational talent, current league MVP - weary, tired, frustrated. At wit's end. And we all know why. 90%+ of dropbacks - never a 1st read pass. Scrambling, evading the rush, keeping the play alive for a few more seconds - to STILL not have anyone open downfield. It's organizational abuse of a player.

We're hand-wringing over individual plays & strategies - but we DID NOT SHOW UP TODAY. That is the problem. We weren't motivated. We won our "KC Super Bowl" and thought we could coast. The NFL isn't that kind of league. They had to show up today like they showed up last week - but they thought it would be easy, so took it easy. -

That last part hits hard. That was it, I ask myself? That was the run? Some fun moments, but not worth being in the AFCE dungeon for close to 20 years. Like, why am I doing this? If I was to pick "things that make me happy in life," Bills fandom wouldn't even be on there. -
Sports is so weird. You wait a lifetime for an era like this, w/ a QB like Allen - and it still doesn't even amount to a SB appearance. It's crazy. Being a sports fan is defined by disappointment & heartache, for the most part.
-
I hate to sound cavalier - but how hard it is to get your team "up" for a game like this? They just had what could have been a season-turning win. It's a division rival. You KNOW there might be some letdown. This game was flat, flat, flat from the very first play. He is not able to motivate this team on a week-to-week basis.

Man, was I hoping to never get the "we need Gabe Davis" thread on this board...

It's very sad to me that our seeming demise coincides w/ the ascension of one of the most successful teams in history. Will Pats fans really get a 7th before we even get one....if we ever even get one? I probably sound all self-pity "woe is me," but it really kind of reinforces that life isn't supposed to be fair. It's sports, so having an unfair outcome isn't the worst thing in the world, but watching them hoist another Lombardi will be a hard day for me if we never get one. -
Last week wasn't some fraudulent thing. This team is good enough to beat anyone. But we did NOT show up today. It was a classic trap game, and we fell right into it. And that's on coaching. And the fact that Allen can't find a receiver open is on the GM. It is well past time for a change. I've supported both McDermott & Beane, but they are truly wasting a generational talent, and what can we hope to have w/ him at this point? If we get another 5 years w/ him running well, it would be surprising.

The Pats current run reminds me so much of the team we had after the Hail Murray. That season was so much fun -we went on an incredible run, and the team was so fun to watch. Now it just seems like we're old & tired. We'll still make the playoffs, but will need a whole lot of luck to make any kind of run. We could have another iteration of the team while Allen is still QB - but I'm certainly not as optimistic about getting a title as I was a few years ago. It's definitely a bummer.

Watching Josh rush around in the pocket looking downfield, evading the rush, and still being unable to find anyone open - again & again & again - is really hair-pulling kind of stuff. And the worst part of it is seeing how weary & frustrated he looks, pretty much every game. It's like the joy isn't there anymore.- 710 replies

I don't want to sound too cavalier about the game tomorrow. Miami almost always gives us a hard time. But I just feel like we are starting a post-Hail Murray kind of run right now. I think there is a good chance we don't lose another game.
-
Eh, I'd say it's better to be a little banged up now than 2 months from now. We've only lost Hoecht & Happ for the full remainder of the season & playoffs.
-
I'd like to zag and praise Beane for not trading for someone just to "make a move." As the dust settles, it's clear that no one who we really wanted was going to be traded. We are going to need draft picks - our cap will always be a problem now, as long as Allen is QB. We're in good shape. I love what I saw Sunday against KC, and think that our offense AND defense will continue to develop as we move along this season. If we can stay healthy, this could be our year.
