One thing I can say about the combine today is it actually raised few more questions than it answered: 1. Franklin and Coleman: bad days or all hype? I really liked Franklin heading into the combine but he measured smaller and had an uninspired showing for drills. Coleman was the opposite: great drills but shockingly slow 40. I think they’re fine and will show better at their pro days, but today saw their stock fall a few spots. They’ll need to do some work to get back to round 1 status. 2. Ladd is Rad: Can McConkey be our outside receiver? He was lined up outside a lot in college, so he has the experience but he is a little on the small side. That being said, when you watch him you get why he is coveted. Looked flawless out there. 3. AD Mitchell: incredible day, and is he now out of range? AD had a fantastic day, and he was a guy I was sure would be available at 28, but maybe not now. He’s smaller and faster than he was advertised by college measurements but he’s still a huge threat and may have really helped himself today. Would not be mad if he was picked. Other notes: Worthy was blisteringly fast. 4.21 is insane, and I could see a few teams moving him way up on their boards. Let’s see how he catches at his pro day, but his take and combine show he’s got talent. Brian Thomas Jr solidified his round 1 status. With a poor showing from Coleman I can see him going in the late teens to early 20’s. I would love it if he’s at 28 but it seems less likely at this point. Johnny Wilson is a freaking man among boys. While everyone else measured a few inches shorter than advertised he did not. 6’6” and a good showing today. He will be an early 3rd rounder I think. Rice, McCaffrey, and Pearsall did well. I think McC and Pearsall could be early 4ths (Pearsall on skill, McC more on name if I’m being honest) and Rice could be a late 4th early 5th.

Yep, they just finished 40’s
-
4.22… Worthy did it….
-
Holy crap, worthy with a 4.25…
-
Brian Thomas Jr unofficially hit 4.34 in the 40 just now 👀

I’m interested in seeing group 2 before making my declarations but here’s a quick preview for group 1: 1. AD Mitchell looked really good today and has likely found himself a spot at the back end of the 1st round. (It also helps that, for some weird reason, I like the Longhorns and may have a bias) 2. Franklin did fine today but I had higher expectations to be honest. I have a late 1st-early 2nd grade on him and that still remains. I was hoping he’d take the leap but I didn't see enough to change my grade. 3. Leggette ran and caught pretty well, and the guy is fast for sure. I was lower on him than most but I think I can see what others saw. Still like him in the 2nd. 4. Coleman had a bad 40, but a great gauntlet. 40 yard speed doesn’t always equal game speed. I had a 2nd round grade on him before and that remains the case now. He also measured far closer to his college reports than most players so that’s something too I guess.

Depends what we do with Tre and Rasul. Right now on paper we look good at CB but cap/free agency could be deciding factors on what we do in round 3. If the need is there I would not mind him at all round 3, but right now we have to focus on WR, DT, DE, and S. That all being said, I can see S getting covered in FA with a lot of releases coming but if not, and if I had to pick between someone like Sanistril vs Cole Bishop in round 3 I will go with Bishop based on what I’ve seen.
-
His Gauntlet looked way better and he moved a t full speed the entire time. I do believe that he may be out of round 1 with that 40 time, but I can see a team liking his game footage and size in the 2nd round still.
-
It honestly makes a lot of sense for them, sad to say. He’s having a great combine and looks to be a difference maker.
-
Had a pretty good Combine. Here’s the summary: 40 yard dash: 4.47 10 yard split: 1.51 Vert Jump: 40” Broad Jump: 10’ 11” 3 Cone Drill: 6.99s 20 Yard Shuttle: 4.01s Bench Press: 14 reps I have a late 3rd grade on him

AD was always a borderline 1st rounder, but he might easily replace Coleman after today.

Mike Evans to hit free agency (UPDATE: Re-signed by TB)

If the pats were smart they’d throw whatever number he wants and draft a rookie QB at pick 3 to give him a safety net as he acclimates to the league. 3 years, $80m should do it. -
Oh crap, Bishop finished the last drill smooth but pulled up his right leg at the very end. Hoping it was a cramp…
-
Yep. I wasn’t sure about Smith but I think in the 4th he makes a lot of sense. Maybe 3rd but I’m not sold on taking him that early just yet
-
During drills I’m seeing a LOT of safeties slipping on the turf. Not a knock on them, but I legit just saw 4 in a row have an issue breaking left I wanted him in the 3rd but he probably won’t be there at pick 100 after today. Bishop looks really good and I was high on him before the draft. If we get to the 80s and he’s floating around I’d be willing to package a 5th and 6th to move if a team is willing to bite

They just discussed Robert Saleh is not present currently at the combine but will be flying in tomorrow to watch the remaining players. Seems strange to me, but then again this is the Jets we are talking about… So all he is going to be seeing will be QBs, RBs, WRs and OL Players. Also stated the Giants are a team that could potentially make a jump from 6 to get a QB possibly
-
Turns out it was a hip flexor, and he will participate at the pro day in April.

Nate Wiggins felt a pop in his groin after running 4.29 and is being taken back for evaluation. Already been told he is done for the day.
