I mean, I think McDaniel and the Fish are a buncha little weasels but they had a good offensive game plan. They used their speed well and the misdirection stuff was working. I feel like they went a little deep into their playbook too since they were basically fighting for their playoff lives. It happens. The other teams are a buncha professionals too, they're gonna make plays. Sometimes I feel like the expectations people have are like, "Okay, defensively they should allow zero yards, actually it should be like -58 yards and also need a dozen sacks and five picks per game otherwise this defense is abysmal! And the offense needs to rack up 60 a game or they're bums!" I mean, I'm being facetious, I realize most fans would rather not see the D get ran over for 120 yards a game or whatever. But they got the W and that's all that matters.

For Those Concerned About Dolphins Defense..
blacklabel replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm actually not super concerned. It wasn't their best day but the way I looked at it was the Dolphins were playing with their backs against the wall and were getting pretty deep in their playbook. Their misdirection stuff was effective today and Tua played a pretty solid game. I think they're gonna be alright. -
I can't lie, I really thought he was gonna shank it a mile into the 29th row or whatever but he absolutely clobbered that ball. What a frickin' kick. Top five all time Bills field goals. Dude missed an XP then had a doink on another one, and then nails it from 61. And it was good from 65, I bet. Wow.

10/20/24 Game 7 GAMEDAY Bills vs Titans post game thread
blacklabel replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
After the first quarter I was like, oh man is this gonna be a dumb one? And then by the end I was like, yeah, that's the kinda mollywhoppin' that should happen against a team like that. -
If I had to guess I'd say Tyler Bass is 100% the Bills kicker for the remainder of 2024. I mean, unless he either spontaneously combusts or suddenly goes 1 for 16 or something, he's the guy. And he's the guy because there really aren't any better alternatives available. It's not like some dude with the kicking caliber of Justin Tucker is just sitting around in his fudgies waiting for a phone call. I imagine he'll be the guy going forward but for 2025 I guarantee he's gonna be competing for the jorb. Hopefully he hits his groove. Not sure what his deal is, and I've said it before, I don't mind a miss here and there, it's going to happen. It's the way in which he's missed. Most are a few feet wide right or left but cripes, he's had a few this year that are just Shankasaurus Rex, bootin' that thing into the fourth row type of misses that are hard to look past. And I think one of the most troubling aspects has been some of these misses are coming from his preferred side of the field. He likes to kick off the left hash. Every time he has one coming off the right side ya never really know if it's gonna go thru. In the past when he'd kick from the left I'd feel pretty confident but as of late that confidence is a little down. Just kick the GD ball, Tyler. Preferably in between the long yellow poles at the end of the field.

Should the Bills trust that Tyler Bass will return to form?
blacklabel replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Did that XP get tipped? I can't recall if it did or not. If not then, yikes. I can understand a kicker shanking one every now and then but he's had like three or four ugly shanks just in the last couple weeks. Don't know what happened with the guy, and I've been someone that's been riding the "he'll be fine" bandwagon but the ways in which he's missing lately have left me thinking that the dude just isn't reliable right now. -
Devin White Released by Eagles. Should we take a flyer?
blacklabel replied to TonyBeets's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hasn't he lost like...all the steps to this point? Dorian Williams was flying around on Sunday and seems like he's turned a corner. I'd rather stick with him. And for whatever it's worth, it seems like they're tinkering with the idea of moving Lewis Cine from safety to LB. Could be interesting. -
Hire Saleh as defensive coordinator IMMEDIATELY
blacklabel replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't really think the defense is the problem right now. They've only really had one bad game (Ravens) other than that they've allowed 21, 10, 10, and 23 points across the other four games. And that's with guys like Bernard, T. Johnson, Oliver, and Milano on the sidelines. Sometimes they seem to allow the opposing offense to get off to a fast start but they eventually lock in and put a lid on things. Thru the second half in Houston they allowed only six points and forced two turnovers. Offense could only muster a frickin' field goal off those turnovers. -
Who was Josh gonna throw to on the “flea flicker” ?

Joe Marino All-22 review - "The coaches were duds"
blacklabel replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Up until like 2021 or 2022 this team was good for at least one blowout loss every year since McDermott took over. They typically respond pretty well in the next game. It definitely seems like they just went in with the wrong game plans and it bit them. It did feel like they were gonna get back in it up until the flea flicker disaster. Ah well. Shtuff happens. They'll be alright. -
Ugh. I mean, I know he's not the guy he once was but he's looked solid this year. Don't be a weenus, Von.

Bryce Young already benched in Carolina
blacklabel replied to mushypeaches's topic in The Stadium Wall
Haha, if this is 2018 draft all over again many of us, myself included, thought the "right" Josh was Rosen since he was being seen as more pro-ready. I'm so happy we were wrong and Allen is the guy. I kinda got the same feeling this year when they drafted Coleman. "Eh, not sure he's gonna be what they expect." I'll be psyched to be wrong on that one too lol. -
Non Bill, unheralded, under the radar favorite player.

When I was a kid I kinda always thought Natrone Means (Business!) was a cool player. Probably the name lol. -
Bummer. Hopefully it isn't too bad and he can recover quickly. Looks like Buffalo Joe gonna be active going forward. Honestly, aside from getting lost in the shuffle on Miami's one TD, Spector wasn't too bad. And the fact that guys like Ingram and Lewis have been able to step in and this defense barely misses a beat is really something. Criticize McDermott all you want but the dude could probably take eleven of us schlubs on this forum and produce a middle of the pack defense lol.

I'm too poor to donate. Hope he recovers. He definitely has a lot to think about.

Fellow camp legend Brandon Reilly was also cut. Dezmin Lewis too. Ope, there goes Kolby Listenbee.

Dang it. What a bummer for the dude. From what I gathered it seems like the rehab process from his leg fracture was pretty stressful. He gets past all of that, slowly works his way back up to full speed in practices, gets thru camp, and then bam, exploding bicep. I heard there were chunks of Italian Stallion bicep all over da field, new guy's in the corner puking his guts out, BLAARRRGGH!! Nah, I digress. They're a different defense when he's in there. They'll find a way as they always seem to do but I was definitely looking forward to seeing him and Bernard work together. I know Dorian is next man up. He certainly has the athleticism, I think he just needs to control his speed a little more as he sometimes runs himself out of plays. I wonder if they'll look to sign anyone.

You could see it during his rookie year that he just had something special to him. It wasn't always pretty but there were a number of moments that really made me sit back and go, "Man, they might really have something in this kid." And that's after going thru nearly 20 years of subpar QB play so I was definitely trying to temper my expectations but I remember feeling genuinely excited and I hadn't really got that vibe with any other QBs they'd tried. One of my favorite moments from his rookie season was the Jags game. I'm not sure but I think it may have been his first game back from the injury. And it's still one of my all-time favorite throws of his, and it's the rocket he launched to Robert Foster for a 75 yard TD as the pocket around him collapsed. I thought for sure it was gonna be a sack. Then suddenly you see the ball come flying out of that swarm of humanity and it finds Foster 50-some yards down the field and he trucks it the rest of the way for the score. I also recall he ran over a Jags defender or two (or three or four) on a scramble for a TD and came up flexing lol. This was the infamous "he trash" game, comments courtesy of Jalen Ramsey. The dude has always had it. Credit to Beane and McDermott for installing the framework and structure that helped him succeed.

Jets going with their classic look vs the Bills at MetLife

I hate da Jets but those are sharp, especially with the tone of green they used. -
Yardage Predictions for Bills Receivers in 2024
blacklabel replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
"Everyone eats" has been the offense's motto this season so I'm not sure if we'll see anyone top 1k since they're gonna be spreading the ball around so much. I'll give it a shot anyway: Kincaid: 80 receptions, 1050 yards, 7 TDs Shakir: 70 receptions, 950 yards, 5 TDs Samuel: 65 receptions, 800 yards, 5 TDs Coleman: 60 receptions, 750 yards, 11 TDs Knox: 40 receptions, 570 yards, 4 TDs Hollins: 35 receptions, 500 yards, 3 TDs Shavers: 30 receptions, 400 yards, 1 TD I dunno. -
Yeah, that seems to track with what some other guys have said, that there's just a more positive and relaxed vibe around the team. We know Diggs is "ultra competitive" but it sounds like he'd rely on that as an excuse to justify weenie-like behavior. That stuff only goes so far before people around you just get tired of it and feel like they have to walk on eggshells around you. Brady and Allen also don't have to worry about how to ensure he gets his ten targets per game or whatever.
