So now kneeling during the anthem can only be “ protesting” one thing ? Lol ... what an A hole this clown is. Anthem protests are dumb, but why can’t others join the fun and “ make it their own “ ?

Bills Will Thurman Thomas' #34 - Live Streamed
Boatdrinks replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably want to get Thurman a little face time on a national telecast ( the Bills only one this year) is all. Number retirements don’t happen all that often, so they usually get a mention / interview with the announcing crew. -
TD Mike looking for a job again
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills need WRs far more than RB’s, and Castillo’s run blocking schemes are terrible anyway. They should be doing anything and everything to bring in WRs. -
It’s relevant on a Bills message board. Our current FO invested major picks in this years rookies. They seem to have a penchant for paying multiple picks for specific players rather than taking best available with a single pick. Beane and McD may overrate themselves as talent evaluators. Their rebuild strategy of jettisoning talent from previous regimes places outsize importance on their ability to evaluate and draft players. These types of lists may give an indication of how this overhaul is going.

Best place to get a deli sandwich before the game?
Boatdrinks replied to Adamb412's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Depew Deli, 4911 Broadway . It’ll be exactly what you want. Wegmans is pretty good, but cannot beat a real Deli. Edit: they’re closed now. You can catch the Deli Shoppe at 4730 Broadway open at 9 AM. -
It’s not on the rise ;more likely static and probably far less than decades ago. It’s just that we now have Twitter. Coupled with CNN pushing a racism narrative , it’s given the perception of a rise in racism. Obama was elected President twice. Wouldn't have happened if racism was so pervasive, and certainly wouldn’t have happened in decades past.

Turnstile Signings & Releases: Why Bother?
Boatdrinks replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw somewhere that the Bills were bringing in Joe Klopfenstein for a workout. -
You simply can’t underestimate this stuff. Remember Percy Harvin ? While we know how that eventually turned out , Harvin had a great relationship with the Bills WR coach at the time. He said it made a big impact on his decision to sign with the Bills instead of the Patriots. It’s too bad, because the Bills are desperately lacking in WR talent.

Trent Dilfer: "I don't think Josh Allen should be playing"
Boatdrinks replied to VW82's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d generally subscribe to the philosophy that you’re either good or you’re not, but Allen seems like a possible exception. He’s absolutely a remedial prospect from a tiny program that can’t possibly get a guy NFL ready. The Bills botched this by not having a seasoned vet QB, thinking they could actually get by with Nathan Peterman as a starter. So Allen plays, but I’m not so sure this can ruin him. The Bills plan might not work , and Coaches and GM will be fired, and Allen will end up on another team. He may never get a legitimate shot at starting again, as teams may not want to invest in a reclamation project. He won’t be ruined, but rather he’ll remain an underdeveloped product. A could- have rather than a has-been. He may fight through the garbage around him and succeed, but the Bills are sure making him climb a giant hill. -
Actually, through the end of the 2017 season it’s .467. That’s 23rd overall and bottom ten in the NFL fwiw. Only 3 franchises have posted a .560 or better all time : Dallas, Green Bay, Chicago.

Seems to have pretty good quickness off the line for a huge DT

I thought it said claimed off waivers ? Interesting , as signed instead of “ claimed” would mean a new contract vs claiming the existing one.

Football Outsiders 2018 Projections
Boatdrinks replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The defense looks more than passable. Offense looks all-time putrid capable for sure though. -
Someone needs to be fired over Mahomes right now.
Boatdrinks replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well he was fired almost immediately after the draft. It would seem the owner could have forced this issue, not sure if I’m buying this one. -

I checked out the analysis from YPP posted here. Perhaps you came to a different conclusion, but it wasn’t exactly kind to Allen’s performance. -

I love the reasoning often stated as : Brady , Rodgers, other great QB etc... they’ll make stars out of average WRs, a beer truck driver can play OL in front of them etc... Then : Great QB X wouldn’t be great in Buffalo, as he doesn’t have a perfect team around him, doesn’t have the Coach to make him great etc. Circular logic rules the day, apparently. -
This is 100% true, yet I see fans still calling for more runs. The problem isn’t a lack of runs , it’s that they’re terrible at passing.

I wanted the Bills to select Watson over Mahomes, but not taking a QB when one was desperately needed was an egregious error. That they passed on both players due to functional ineptness with a lame duck GM in place is horrific. -

The facts do not support your belief. The eye in the sky doesn’t lie. While no one would choose the Bills talent over that of the Chiefs, take a look at the all 22. There are open WRs ( they may drop accurate passes at a high rate) , the QB often has time but takes unnecessary sacks. JA also looks confused, lacks instincts and places passes all over the place whether on the run or stationary. To think that a player such as Mahomes would suddenly lose his abilities due to the players around him is folly. He would not be experiencing the same team success perhaps, but he’d still be a mobile, instinctive player with accuracy and arm strength. -
If you subscribe to much of the logic on this board, the answer is a definitive NO. Apparently you need a perfect team, pro bowlers signed as FA’s from other teams and a high first round QB that has sat on the bench and learned how to be great for an appreciable length of time. Then you throw in a proven winning HC that is an offensive genius. It was not possible to win with players that couldn’t put up stats with mediocre QBs or talented players that had underperformed. All must be jettisoned because of “ the process”. This process , mind you requires vanquishing years of players accumulated in multiple NFL drafts. This is important, because an offense can only work in today’s pass happy NFL if it consists of players known as “ our guys”. The process is long and arduous, but can achieve great results in approximately 7-10 years. Never mind that that those hired to implement the process will be fired long before that. Never mind.
