  1. That’s because they chose to have a completely new team. That’s a tough way to turn a franchise around, and one that probably takes longer than they will get.
  2. In other words, he wasn’t a first round QB. Don’t despair ....yet .
  3. I don’t either. Many of them were nowhere near catchable.
  4. Pretty rough sledding at QB, with a few glimpses of good play. Defense seems to be getting it together. The offense is the worst we’ve seen since at least 2001, with very little talent. In essence, a throwaway year of Josh Allen starts with no reinforcements arriving until 2019.
  5. The DB wasn’t playing the receiver though, he was making a play on the ball. Two players collided while trying to catch a ball. That’s what it amounts to. The contact was incidental, so now flag was thrown. If Clinton Dix tried to time up a tackle and made that contact, it likely would have been a flag. This is a judgment call, and in my opinion the official was correct to keep the flag in his pocket. As I’ve stated before, if that’s Tredavious White making that INT I’d be livid if the flag was thrown because the contact was incidental. You have to allow players to play, and this was a good no call. Conversely, many instances of holding by Green Bay went uncalled and the Bills had a legitimate gripe there.
  6. Could happen. Bell’s trade value is minimal as there is no guarantee he returns to the team that trades for him next season. A player plus a pick ,as PIT is supposedly asking is a pipe dream. Bell would be more likely to actually report to a contender. Bell will likely be moved at the deadline for relatively minimal compensation as he will be gone and PIT will accept something vs getting nothing when Bell walks.
  7. Massive oversimplification here.... The DB had as good or better a shot at that ball as KB did. This doesn’t always happen, obviously. Doing what you describe will get a flag in a vast majority of situations.
  8. Don’t forget McVay, guy is a legit offensive guru. Can’t underestimate that. Rams had plenty of talent to begin with, McDermott may be the Bills Fisher.
  9. He chose BAL, and I believe the Bills had only Nate Peterman on the roster at QB at the time.
  10. Not surprising for the NFL to double down on stupid, they rarely admit their errors. The radio and TV announcers thought it was helmet to helmet when the flag was thrown, not a defenseless receiver. He didn’t appear defenseless at all. Watch again, he went for the ball and didn’t even look at Benjamin. Again, if that was T White on defense and they threw a flag we’d all be incensed and rightly so.
  11. Couldn’t disagree more on Mahomes. Now, I wanted the Bills to take Watson there, but that’s beside the point. It is absolutely egregious to pass on a good QB . For no good reason other than your organization has done things backasswards by hiring a HC with a lame duck GM at the helm. One error becomes two and so on an so on. The OL and WR issues were brought about by their own cap problems, even if they were intended. Mahomes looks to have a better shot at being franchise than Allen right now, and that’s the fault of this HC and ownership.
  12. It all depends where the DB is coming from in the play. If Clinton Dix is behind Benjamin and tries to run through him , that would get a flag every time. A ball in the air and you’re playing centerfield ? Not going to get called if you’re playing the ball and not the man.
  13. Nah, good no call. Look at the position of the dB relative to the WR. If the roles are reversed, and that’s Tre White on a Packers WR, I want White making that INT. That was anybody’s ball , as the DB wasn’t behind the WR he was across from him. Think of the Pats DB vs SEA in the Super Bowl a few years ago. There was a lot of contact, but no call as he was making a play on the ball from the side of the WR, not behind him.
  14. They called White for helmet to helmet contact , not for a hit on a defenseless player. The helmet to helmet wasn’t intentional, but if the defender initiates the contact intentionally ( he did) it’s going to get a flag.
  15. Well, it seems the we you are referring to are the Pegulas. I’ve got to think this regime gets 3 years, but they may not know what they are doing.
  16. They only scored 22 points and had the ball forever in this game. I’m not surprised.
  17. Tre White was making a tackle after a ball was caught by a WR. not going for the ball . Totally different. As for the fumble, it was called a fumble on the field and it appeared the ball was moving prior to the knee going down. If they had called it no fumble, it wouldn’t have been overturned by replay either.
  18. Looked like the ball was moving before the knee was down. Not enough evidence to overturn.
  19. You can if it’s incidental..Kind of like when a dB and wr get their feet tangled up. If both players are trying to catch the pass and they collide, whose fault is it ? Fwiw Kelso thought it was a good no call.
  20. Clinton- Dix was going for the ball, which he has as much right to as the WR. The contact wasn’t intentional, so you’ll rarely get a call on that type of contact .
  21. Well, unless you consider Paxton Lynch a vet QB...
  22. Tank ? Seriously, this team will lose most all of their games without event trying to do so.
  23. Not that simple. Other teams have rookie QBs, and have some talent around them. Throw in the fact that Allen may not even be any good, and you have the mess that is the Bills offense. It’s going to be hard to evaluate, but Allen looks less than the other rookies as an NFL passer.
  24. Maybe. One of them might actually be able to catch a football.
  25. Start playing all the young players on Offense instead of Clay, Benjamin, Ducasse, et al. Same on D. See if any of them are at least decent backups. No real help is coming from outside this year.
