  1. Plenty of folks from all demographics enjoy tailgating. September/ October are simply best. The weather is pretty wretched in Nov and Dec to sit outside watching a football game. That’s the problem.
  2. PI , as you inferred is considered a judgement call. Many times, the officials don’t call things the same way for both teams. This could help even things out. If judgement is used in live action, it will be used upon review. This move is to correct obvious misses or errors in judgement. I think your fears are unfounded. Where is it implied that it will be followed word for word only on review ? Being able to correct obvious mistakes/ phantom calls a la tredavious @ KC a couple seasons back is a good thing.
  3. It’s not the ones that are called. It’s the ones they get away with. That’s like looking at the box score, seeing the Pats* had 6 penalties called against them, and the opponent had 8. You’d think it was pretty even, no? If you watched the game though, you’d realize many more went uncalled and the flags were thrown in inconsequential situations. Numbers won’t prove anything, you have to watch the actual game. Anyone who watches the NFL knows the offensive holding call ( and non call ) is the biggest scam going. I’ll never convince you, it’s something you’d have to realize for yourself.
  4. Perhaps that official was biased. To me it looked like he just missed the call. It was right in front of him. The Rams win a lot, so maybe he thought Robey made a good play. Who knows, but they missed a face mask by New Orleans vs Goff earlier Nope, no bias for me. I just watch the games and it’s not hard to see.
  5. Just watch the line play 8nstead of the QB/ WRs . It’s readily apparent. NE doesn’t get flagged in the biggest moments of games in general. Believe what you wish. Officials are human and have inherent bias.
  6. Green Bay and Rodgers aren’t NE. Ive never thought officials have bias based on market. Just on winning. Some players are obviously better than others. Inferior players get overwhelmed and commit fouls. Most NFL teams are pretty equal talent wise and the bias for certain teams like the Pats is quite obvious when watching games. Keep buying the BS though. Many PI calls are ticky tack. Most guys don’t tackle a player when beaten. They probably should, because it’s a spot foul. Less yardage would be awarded. Way to single out one blown call. Obviously officials just make errors. Every call / non call doesn’t infer bias. Sometimes they just blow it.
  7. Not all fouls are created equal, so merely counting fouls in a season is lazy. Fouls tend to be called in NE games when they are already comfortably ahead just to “ even things out”. Most all fans and ex players etc know there is a ton of holding, pretty much on every play. I’ll never convince you, as you’ve already made up your mind and have the blinders on.
  8. Have you ever watched say, a Patriots* game ? A player such as Stephon Gilmore gets away with things that drew flags when he wore a Bills helmet. Their former LT got a lot of holding penalties when he switched to a Giants uniform. To say that NFL officials don’t have a strong bias is crazy. They assume winning teams ( largely determined by a team’s QB, not the DBs or even OL most times) players simply made a good play rather than “ broke the rules”. Fouls are committed on almost every play in the MFL; they are mostly what you would consider “ judgment calls”. That’s where the bias comes is. A player on a losing team like the Bills grabs some jersey or holds a WRs arm late in a close game and the flag comes out. A NE player does the same or worse and it is ignored, as the player must have made a great play. It’s maddeningly obvious.
  9. Yep, that pretty much sums it up. The Ralph days are long gone, this wasn’t about money or T Pegs being unwilling to pay Brown. AB is a classic Diva receiva. The Bills don’t have a proven QB, haven’t in some time and consequently haven’t won in quite awhile. That an Antonio brown or another player of his ilk wouldn’t want to come to Buffalo should surprise no one. He already thought himself too good for one of the winningest NFL franchises ever. In the end, who cares ?
  10. Well, Gronkowski wasn’t in the NFL for Giants vs Pats* part one. Anyway, Gronkowski is HOF, but his lack of durability/ longevity is a DQ for “ goat” status to me. Other opinions will vary.
  11. Fair enough. I don’t see it that way, and I’d say don’t overthink it. NFL QB play as a whole is weak. Good QBs can get it done vs NE. Mahomes , for example was barely slowed by the Pats*. Most NFL games are close, and even the current edition of Brady usually makes a few more plays than the QB on the other side of the field. He has very few “ off” days in a season compared with the field. That’s the reason for the wins. When he can no longer do this, it stops.
  12. Not sure of your section , but I was in 136. Everyone ( seemingly) cheered and high- fives all around.
  13. I concur with this theory. I’m not certain yet if the Bills need one or not, but I do know this; I wouldn’t trade up for any QB in this draft.
  14. Let’s all hope this is incorrect.
  15. The Rams lack of playmaking in the SB was tied to just one thing; Goff puking on his shoes. Or perhaps he just showed his true colors as a QB down the stretch run of the season. The Pats didn’t do anything noteworthy. They didn’t have to once the Bears and Eagles put down the blueprint and exposed Goff. The Pats begin and end with Brady, though. He didn’t do much in that dog of a SB game, but he only had to be marginally better than Goff that day. Not too difficult. Brady missed 2008 season. Seems like a lifetime ago, but I’ll never forget watching Pollard take his knee out on the scoreboard at the Ralph.
  16. Not weak enough. It will be over when ( and only when) TB retires or his play is sub par. I don’t believe he will play as a Favre-like shell of himself. That would taint his legacy and his ego won’t allow it. A running game will mean very little at that time. It will all come down to the QB. While the nightmare may seem never ending, defining it as such is pure hyperbole. The epic length run is really just tied to one player’s highly improbable longevity. Barring a Luck- type scenario it will end. For football fans however, it has seemed to be a lifetime in hell , or perhaps purgatory. I truly cannot wait for it to reach its approaching nadir.
  17. Lifted directly from thebiglead.com. Yes , I see that you put it in quotes. Anyway, I think the point was not about stats, but that the team wins games without the player. Their winning begins and ends with the QB, and probably won’t change until they get weaker at that position. Hopefully that occurs and they don’t have a Colts like transition to an Andrew Luck.
  18. The Lions were a terrible team, but that doesn’t detract from his greatness as a player. He was great, and durable.
  19. Barry Sanders retired on top with gas in the tank, and missed only 7 starts due to injury / other in his entire career.
  20. Exactly. Great move if it means not drafting a CB. Build the offense and maybe throw in a good DT.
  21. Not surprisingly the choad’s agent states he “ wouldn’t be surprised “ if he has a change of heart and returns to the team/game. And so it begins ....
  22. Fair point. Though it’s become cliche, don’t they say the best ability is availability ? Gronkowski dominated for sure, but his durability takes him out of the all time best conversation imo. Is he HOF great ? Absolutely. But so was Terrell Davis.
  23. Not coincidentally with Brady as his QB for the vast majority of the games. I figured the HS player part was overstated, but they’ve won with offense since about 2004 or so. Not knocking BB, but that run doesn’t happen without Brady.
  24. Oh, I agree on Father Time , and it sure appeared that the whispers about a Brady injury might have some merit. I strongly believe he I’ll retire before he will play as a shell of himself that is clearly in major decline. He will not allow anyone to see him playing that way as a final image of him. Just my opinion.
