I don’t think there is any room for discretion or “ optics” with the concussion protocol, and the team doctor is not the one calling the shots. Its an independent Neurologist. If you show symptoms ( ie fail the test) you are in the protocol. Each injury is unique and there are varying degrees but once you fail the test the only differentiating factor between injuries is the length of time it takes for the player to clear the protocol. Depends on the position of the defenders around him, but sure I can see that. You can be vulnerable to a cheap shot even when sliding; like Flacco was. The Bills are currently 4th in the NFL in rushing yards per game, and stand 8th in total yardage. After years of being behind the times offensively, the Bills look to have something resembling a modern NFL offense. They need to stop turning the ball over and start scoring more points. But run the ball more ? Man, this fan base is mercurial.
