  1. Nah, he’d be just a plain old veggie burger.
  2. If our defense is exactly as good as it is now, then I’d be inclined to agree on Mahomes. Not with Mayfield ;at least not yet.
  3. The same can be said about any team and that’s not what the thread is about. Every team needs to win their own games or they are entirely dependent upon what other teams do , so.....
  4. I doubt the Bills would be working on anything intrinsic to their game plan on during the media portion of practice.
  5. Yeah, I try to keep that filed away somewhere in the dark recesses....So bad.
  6. And a lazy response from Deion’s compadre.... “ Bills offense has long way to go.” If you looked into their stats and not just the point total you’d realize the offense is closer than you think.
  7. Week 7 Bills vs Dolphins would work for this...
  8. I don’t know about that. What if you’d take Deshaun Watson ? He’s incredible. Bad fan ?
  9. It’s also a good thing that defeating them isn’t required for the Bills to make the playoffs this year.
  10. True. I’d also rather be tasked with improving the Bills offensive scoring this season than with fixing the Chiefs defense. The Bills have moved the ball but snuffed out their own drives with turnovers and mistakes. Where do you start with that Chiefs D?
  11. It’s an interesting argument. The Chiefs look like they score a TD at any moment from anywhere on the field. Their D makes a two score lead late in the 4th seem dicey.
  12. Because only a limited number of things are challengeable under the rules. PI is really the first time they have allowed challenges to a “ judgment call” and then only reluctantly. Changing the calls could have huge effects on the game, because the rules aren’t enforced to the letter. Pandora’s box would be opened. Those other calls such as spots, catches are really not judgment calls, just video evidence is used because of the speed of the game. Using video evidence when things are seen but let go due to judgment is another story.
  13. Maybe, but again the game would be completely different ( and probably a lot less popular) if OPI were strictly enforced in every instance.
  14. Much of the modern passing game ( and a big reason for inflated stats) is about getting the ball out of the QBs hands quickly and into the hands of a speedy skill position player. The longer the QB holds the ball, the bigger the risk. It’s a good creative use of a play by Daboll, but it’s not new either. So far, I’m pretty happy with Dabolls ideas and calls this year.
  15. Not the first place, by a mile, but the geography is limiting. It has good food and a bar with a TV. Not exactly a fan hangout, but that area isn’t my favorite hang, either. Just a suggestion and yes it’s farther up Main.
  16. One would think King holds some sway, but in this case I think he’ll be ignored. He’s pointing out what seems obvious, but it’s actaully working the way the league wants it. That’s because they want it to be available, but rarely if ever used. They can’t really come out and say that, but the message being sent is clear. Coaches have been testing it, and the response has been universal : Don’t use this unless it’s the playoffs or similar and the game is literally on the line. It will turn the game into a joke if used even sporadically in just about every NFL contest. NFL rules like offensive holding or defensive PI are enforced intermittently and inconsistently just to keep teams “ honest”. The game would be unwatchable if they were always enforced to the letter. Although, with the preponderance of yellow flags in most games lately I have to wonder.
  17. While the call was awful, their team could have stopped the Rams from scoring and forcing overtime . The Saints also had the ball in the OT and didn’t score iirc so the non call didn’t exactly end the game. Challenges have always been limited. Scrutinizing an area of the game where rules violations often go uncalled isn’t a can of worms the NFL really wanted to open. They just wanted a mechanism to reverse a terrible call or non call in a high profile situation that leaves them with egg on their face.
  18. They just signed a new agreement and most have lucrative full time jobs elsewhere so I’d guess they are just fine with it.
  19. It’s obvious to me, and should be to anyone paying attention. The league caved in due to backlash and embarrassment , but honestly reviewing / overturning non PI calls is terrible for the game. Imagine if they could challenge offensive holding ? It’d be ridiculous. It’s like that stupid blue line challenge thing in hockey disallowing goals that happen a half minute later. Any NFL fan knows that lots of ( technically) PI things go uncalled, and most would prefer to “ let them play” except for egregious infractions. The league has essentially sent the message to not waste your time or your timeout unless it’s a huge missed call and probably only in the playoffs or playoff berth deciding situation. Edit : more to your point in the thread title , I do not believe it’s any kind of revolt by the officials. Rather, more of a concerted effort with the league being on board. It’s meant as a fail safe in a game deciding situation during the postseason and that’s about it.
  20. Couldn’t agree more. Mahomes seems very down to earth, and yeah KC is closer to a Buffalo than say LA or NYC. Be it interviews or whatever, I don’t see a bit of AB or OBJ in Pat Mahomes. While that draft has been rehashed to death, I can’t see “ fit” or personality, character etc as a reason the Bills wouldn’t draft Mahomes. That had zero to with it imo.
  21. Agreed. Seems like a good guy, teammate, and ultimately pretty humble. Haven’t seen anything about him that would make him “ un- Buffalo “ Very weird take.
  22. KC has the best QB in the AFCW, while NE has won the AFCE about 15 of the last 17 years or something. That’s probably why.
  23. Eagle House on Main has good grub and TV in the bar.
