  1. Look, I’m not an analytics expert and not interested in debating its merits. We’ve all seen conservative head coaches who punt from the opponents 39 yard line. I’m certain that using analytics should just be another set of data, not gospel. To me, it’s often just about the value of keeping possession vs changing field position by 20 yards or so. That’s what I mean by the numbers, not all the statistical jargon you’re throwing out there. Suffice it’s to say that most NFL coaches are too conservative, and Harbaugh is thinking outside the box with Jackson and with his offense.
  2. They go for it on fourth a lot ( analytics guy advises Harbaugh) , so that influences the numbers. Still, that’s confirmation that most coaches decide to punt too often. The numbers say trying to keep possession is often more important than a few yards of field position.
  3. I think Vinovich and crew are one of the better crews as NFL officials go. He’s pretty even handed, doesn’t shy away from calling penalties on NE ( always my litmus test) and doesn’t go out of his way to put his “ stamp” on the game. The Bills don’t have a great road record in the games he been assigned, but that’s probably more due to the team than bad calls by Vinovich. Not bad and I expect a pretty fairly called game without a ton of ticky tack stuff.
  4. Ravens. It’s AFC, and they’re the best team in the conference right now.
  5. I think I had a Bills coffee mug with that printed on it or something very close to it. Going way back but I remember it.
  6. I hope you’re right. I see nothing easy about that game, that team or that stadium.
  7. Their defense feasts on takeaways and actually scores TDs. This game will not be easy, and as Tomlin stated he’s only expecting his QB not to kill them. He knows what that D can do , and they’re a bad matchup for the Bills.
  8. None of this stuff is coming from the refs. It’s coming from the NFL and New York. They didn’t want this rule used except in a playoff game. This overturn may have been a little backlash to Payton. It was the right call, in a critical 2 minute situation at the end of the game. We’ve all seen other calls not overturned, and that was directly coming from the NFL.
  9. It’s the Steelers defense that concerns me..
  10. If the Pats run the table, that is possible. If they lose a game ( or two) BAL will be fighting for the top seed. Let’s hope it’s the latter. It’s a formula, so it goes the same for everyone. Being in the AFCE helps, of course. There aren’t that many “ good “ teams in the league on a year to year basis.
  11. Well, we know that Rudolph sucks. Hodges has yet to prove it.
  12. To me, the AFC championship loss to the Bengals was worse than any of the Superbowl losses. Winning that Championship game is an exciting feeling, but falling short made me not even want to watch the Super Bowl.
  13. I know that. It’s just the fact they can’t just talk about Buffalo and this season. They have their favorites ( Pats etc) and must always bring them up regardless of what the discussion is about. Having John Brown on before a huge national TV game between the Bills and Cowboys and asking JB about Lamar Jackson is a d&$# move.
  14. NFC. Steelers are the must win game - if there is one. If somehow the Bills end up 8-6, then week 16 and 17 are must win games. Essentially, it’s not a must win....until it is.
  15. GMFB idiots have John Brown on and have to ask him about Lamar freakin’ Jackson ? I really can’t stand the jackwagons on that show sometimes.
  16. That’s an interesting backstory on that game ; I definitely wasn’t aware of it. I remember the game vaguely, sort of intertwined with a memory of being at my Grandmothers house on Thanksgiving while the Bills were on TV. I was all of 7 years old at the time lol. Funny how certain things just stick in the memory bank, I recall that the game was not against the Cowboys, but never bothered to look it up.
  17. Two dill holes jawing at each other. Very fitting
  18. Don’t want to say much about the Rams....they were Bad, you know it.
  19. Yeah, the decline started before the SB and BB. It was late last season ; he’s been shaky since. Definitely didn’t look the same.
  20. Given the Bills problems stopping the run, I’d guess that Harbaugh dusts off this gameplan in a couple weeks. Bills better put their big boy pants on. If they’re not prepared to play old school slug it out football it could get out of control fast.
  21. If the Bills staff can find something, and that’s a big if, they’re not in a position to hold it. They’ve only got one path to the playoffs and that’s the WC. Have to go all out to win.
  22. Tackling L Jackson in the open field isn’t easy. That’d be a start, but no one seems able to do it. Makes the whole thing go.
  23. Up 35-6 in the 4th quarter that isn’t exactly a bad idea. I get you don’t care for McD, but c’mon.
  24. This^^ Do they decide to do the unthinkable and try to beat the Ravens at their own game ? Lots of Singletary, Gore and Allen turned loose as a runner ? I mean, nothing much else is working, so why not ?
