  1. Why would they love to trash Araiza - who hasn’t been convicted of anything -publicly? Weird take imo.
  2. College age people, including student athletes often make impulsive decisions. Especially at parties. She probably appeared to be another college student and that was that. It’s not like seeing the visible difference between a teen and a 35 year old. The vast majority of college folk must be idiots in your view.
  3. This makes sense, but today it’s an outdated concept.
  4. Good take. I may be older than you as it seems it’s been going on longer than that. It certainly has gotten worse in the last ten years or so.
  5. Terrible take. This individual lied about her age to attend a college party. A 17 year old “ minor” can easily look to be a college student. It’s not like Araiza is some 50 year old pervert. This sounds like a typical college hookup. You’re picking nits about statutory rape. Anyway, it no longer matters as he’s been released, but I certainly hope as a fan that NO PART of the Bills decision was reached to placate the media.
  6. I’ll disagree on that one. It appears she lied and said she was a college student at a nearby university. I guess that can be used as a defense in CA, but I’ll admit my legal knowledge is limited. However, that’s not the primary basis for my disagreement. It’s much more of a real world one. A 17 year old girl can easily look 19 or 20. College students are often looking to party and hook up. It’s not like they ask to see ID. Doesn’t matter anymore as he’s gone but I can see how young people can look very similar at a party and this girl probably didn’t stand out as younger.
  7. We already know that Araiza admitted they had sex. That part is not a fabrication. The details and particulars are a case of he said -she said and we will probably never really know.
  8. Not sure about the LaNova stuff, but good overall take.
  9. Again totally expected and not much of a scoop regardless of the release. You can’t get caught flat footed in the NFL.
  10. A shocking development. Great work by Graham.
  11. This is also possible. We don’t know how they handled this with him or what they told him. Just what came across the wire.
  12. True, and that goes for the plaintiff in this case as well. That cannot be overstated.
  13. Obviously. Still too soon for me to say if I agree with the reason(s) though.
  14. Sure they did. That’s why McD had to say he wasn’t going to say anything further about it repeatedly. Walking away from the podium after the 3rd time would have been appropriate.
  15. Probably true, because they generally suck as a whole.
  16. Quite possibly another team may not view it as that much of a distraction. It’s the NFL after all. I agree the position isn’t way up in the hierarchy.
  17. That could be true, but it doesn’t mean their investigation didn’t find the story to be full of inconsistencies. I’m pretty much hoping he’s guilty at this point as that’s about all that would make this outcome satisfactory.
  18. I think he will end up in another team. It’s too soon imo to say whether I like the release or not. Hopefully we will find out why they made the decision. If he lied to McD , Beane or anyone else in the Bills organization then I agree with the move 100%. If it turns out they did it based on anything else then there’s plenty of room for skepticism.
  19. I concur. Hopefully this is close to what happened. If Araiza was not forthcoming or gave false information they absolutely should have released him. I just hope that they didn’t cave to the media mob. They haven’t given me any reason yet to doubt their standards, so all I can do as a fan is trust that the decision was made for this or a similar reason. I’d be very disappointed otherwise.
  20. Perhaps McD and Beane (with the blessing of the Pegulas) actually believe in doing the right thing- namely standing by the young man they drafted if he is not responsible for this alleged incident. It’s hard to believe in this day and age, I know but they seem to have principles. The savage and psychopathic media makes it difficult to let the investigation play out, but I’m impressed by the Bills handing of this to date. I’m confident when the truth is known as best it can be under the circumstances that they will do the right thing . Maybe they’ll prove me wrong and cave in, but as a fan I’m proud of their response thus far.
  21. Keenum is better than the physically limited Barkley. Still, he could probably only keep the ship afloat for 3-4 weeks if pressed into service. I highly doubt the Bills will actively shop for a backup QB at this point. There just won’t be anyone appreciably better than Keenum available.
  22. Man , I miss those times.
  23. That same 13k in 1975 would equal about $71,500 in todays dollars. Median household income in Buffalo was around 39.5k according to 2016-2020 data.
  24. Agreed. A lot of Robert Woods in Shakirs game.
  25. Shakir appears to have inside track at PR. Seems sure handed and confident.
