Why exactly are we favored by 3.5 in Baltimore?
Boatdrinks replied to Adamb412's topic in The Stadium Wall
The stats don’t bear that out. They doubled Miami up in top and outgained them by hundreds of yards. In short , they had a flukey game where they just didn’t finish drives. They were #1 in redzone going into yesterdays game. Their injuries by and large are on Defense and they still held Miami in check. The Bills even with injuries ( not to their top 4 players ) are still better than most teams and the Ravens D is beat up. -

The Bills are better than the Ravens. -
It would, but you can’t have everything. They won’t invest a #1 pick on an RB ever. I don’t think Miss is very good, and would rather they call up Duke Johnson as RB2. Singletary has become a decent player. I wouldn’t have hated Dorsey not calling back to back passes on 3rd and 4th down. Conversely I didn’t love the Jauronesque run run , pass sequence early that led to the strip sack of Josh. A lot of this is just philosophy, not inability to run, but they have no backs that will ever be considered elite.
-
They won’t move the Bills game, but the Tampa / KC game could be moved to Monday or Tuesday. The venue may be moved as well to the closest available site.
-
They could become consistent with it. They just don’t care about it enough from an offensive philosophy standpoint to invest in improving it. Every team loses yards on running plays from time to time, but they stick with it and the gains outweigh it. This team is different. They’d just rather have Josh throw the ball, or even run with it. It’s hard to argue with it as they’re very successful on offense.
-
The Bills organizational philosophy is that running the ball is almost a wasted down , except in certain circumstances. That’s their take on the modern NFL and it’s why they have Josh Allen. It’s been very successful and they think it will win them a worlds championship. They could have built their team to excel at the ground game, but I’m glad they didn’t. People act like they will never lose a game. That doesn’t happen in the NFL, especially with a 17 game schedule. The Bills failed to execute several offensive plays yesterday that were there for the taking. That’s why they lost . On to Baltimore…

Cowherd killing Bills coaching in his monologue
Boatdrinks replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly.. why pretend that Beane/ McD didn’t draft Josh Allen and he’s not on the Bills? Most HCs and regimes would be fired if they didn’t hit on a franchise QB in the draft. -
NFL Week #3 - Bills at the Dolphins - Post game thread
Boatdrinks replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
First goal is always the division title : you can’t get the 1 seed without it. No part of what I saw yesterday makes me think Miami is going to win 10 in a row or anything. -
We’ll know sometime late in 2023. Check back then.

Needed a sideline route or go to the ground immediately run up and spike. Would been a long attempt but Bass in good weather is a decent chance anyway.

Couldn’t disagree more. The big uglies were not to blame today. You don’t get those kind of disparities in yardage, first downs etc getting whipped in the trenches. The skill positions failed at key moments leaving points off the board. That’s really it. Bills should have had 30 or more today including the safety. -
Anyone know anything about out injuries?
Boatdrinks replied to Billever76's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep. Probably had a much better chance of downing the Dolphins with a depleted roster. Jackson is a better QB than Tagavailoa. Need wins vs BAL and KC. -
A Few Thoughts About the Dolphins Game, in no particular order
Boatdrinks replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
He got the ball back with 1:15 or so and needed to get the team into field goal range for the game winning attempt. He did not succeed. He would get a lot of credit if they won. It works both ways. I’m sure he’s not happy with his play the last couple possessions. -
Yep. The Bills have been remarkably healthy the past few seasons. That’s just not going to happen every year.

Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme

Me too. I hate blaming officiating , but we didn’t get any calls of consequence today. -

Coaching was fine. A couple play calls questionable in goal to go, but players didn’t execute routine plays or TD’s would have resulted. This loss was not on coaching , especially with a depleted roster. -

Even with all that preceded this( Davis dropped TD, blocked / missed FG by Bass etc) this was likely the biggest play of the game and it’s a pass Josh hits 9 out of 10. His reaction showed he knew it too. The play led to the safety and the Bills getting another possession, but Josh failed there too. He was the only reason they were in the game yet also the one who didn’t come through when needed. Strange but that’s how it went. The D was fine save for the 3rd and 22. -

I feel good about their talent and ability to be in every game, but make no mistake this was a blown opportunity that could haunt the Bills come playoff time. The Super Bowl is the only thing that matters for this group anymore and their chances took a hit today. -

Hard to call todays stat sheet a clunker. The Bills and Josh failed to close but they controlled this football game. This loss is definitely on the offense but it wasn’t a clunker on that side of the ball. -
Bills offense blew this game ( surprisingly ) and Dorsey knows it. On to Baltimore

Not sure about this. The Bills already show extreme aversion to punting , run the ball only occasionally and continue leading the NFL in point differential as they did last season. My guess is they stay the course on offense while adjusting defensive strategy to account for Hyde’s absence. -
Micah Hyde seeking 2nd opinion on neck injury
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t think there’s a designation for that, but the teams gotta win one for Hyde! -

Have to agree. Hyde’s awesome and this news sucks, but next man up. This team is built to win a championship top to bottom and the coaches will do a great job dealing with the challenges presented. Go Bills! -
We will see more of these endorsements as Josh’s popularity increases. It comes with success!
